We have not used it before. We were attempting to use it now and while
reading the documentation realized that we could try switching to java 8 at
the same time. Did you manage to find out about the status of it being
supported on Appengine standard?

[google-appengine] Is TOKENIZED_PREFIX supported in Appengine search?

2017-04-04 Thread Anand Srinivasan
While looking through the java docs for Field in Document Index
(https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/standard/java/javadoc/com/google/appengine/api/search/Field),

we noticed the presence of the "TOKENIZED_PREFIX" type which seems to match
closely with the search capability that we want. Unfortunately, when we try
to index a field with that type, we are running into an "Unsupported field
type" error. Is the documentation incorrect? Or am I using this
incorrectly? The indexing code does something like the following.

doc.addField(Field.newBuilder().setName(key).setTokenizedPrefix(valueStr));
The exception occurs at the line index.put(doc.build());

Unfortunately, our tests are running fine and as expected. The indexing
succeeds in the test and the query also works as expected. But we are
seeing this exception when the code is deployed to appengine.

Any help to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

[google-appengine] Re: ImportError: No module named webapp2

2016-05-20 Thread Anand Atreya
I can't upload a minimal version of the app right now, but I did some
poking around since the problem occurred in 1.9.37 and doesn't occur in
1.9.34, and the problem appears to be due to this change in
_python_runtime.py:

$ diff 1.9.37/_python_runtime.py 1.9.34/_python_runtime.py

72,75d71

< if 'google' in sys.modules:

< google_path = os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), 'google')

< google_module = sys.modules['google']

< google_module.__path__.append(google_path)

78c74,77

< google_module.__file__ = google_path

---

>

>

> if 'google' in sys.modules:

> del sys.modules['google']

If I copy the old version of this file over the new one, the error goes
away. The relevant pip packages that I have installed are gcloud (0.14.0),
googleapis-common-protos (1.1.0), protobuf (3.0.0b3). Again, if I uninstall
these, the problem also goes away. PYTHONPATH is empty.

The differences in sys.path (printed just before the failing webapp2 import
statement) are:

Working: [..., '/Users/aatreya/1.9.34/lib/pycrypto-2.6',
'/Users/aatreya/1.9.34/lib/webapp2-2.5.2',
'/Users/aatreya/1.9.34/lib/protorpc-1.0',
'/Users/aatreya/1.9.34/lib/webob-1.1.1',
'/Users/aatreya/1.9.34/lib/yaml-3.10']

Not working: [..., '/Users/aatreya/lib/pycrypto-2.6',
'/Users/aatreya/lib/webapp2-2.5.2', '/Users/aatreya/lib/protorpc-1.0',
'/Users/aatreya/lib/webob-1.1.1', '/Users/aatreya/lib/yaml-3.10']
Note that /Users/aatreya/lib does not exist.

Let me know if this helps.

[google-appengine] Re: ImportError: No module named webapp2

2016-05-18 Thread Anand Atreya
It looks like the protobuf pip package conflicts with webapp2. I
temporarily resolved the issue by uninstalling all google python packages
(gcloud, protobuf, googleapis-common-protos) which allows webapp2 to work
again. Reinstalling protobuf breaks it. Unfortunately I need webapp2 to
work while protobuf is installed.

This seems like an issue that Google should address - can you look into it?

I'm having the same issue. This appears to be a problem with the latest

[google-appengine] Re: App Engine Account Suspended

2015-01-01 Thread Anand Hariharan
Wayne, am having the same issue and it is completely 1 sided approach from
Google.

They suspended my account within 30 minutes of my paying Google AppEngine
USD 50/- for services. They don't give any reason whatsoever so that I can
resolve the issue. Completely UNHELPFUL approach from Google AppEngine
team. Am fully locked out now and can't even deploy updates to my website.

[google-appengine] Google AppEngine Account/Projects Gets Suspended Every time I Pay Google

2015-01-01 Thread Anand Hariharan

This has been happening to me consistently for last 2 weeks. Each time I
have paid Google AppEngine for services, they have sent me an email saying
"Policy Violation" and then a series of emails start flowing suspending one
account after the other. Does ANYONE know why this happens? Google
AppEngine Cloud Compliance team seems to be handling it - they pretty much
box you down and don't respond to emails or tell you why the problem is
happening. Now I am completely locked out of Google AppEngine - they told
me last week all is well and restored access and this week - complete lock
down - no option even to appeal and understand What is causing the problem.

[google-appengine] how to maintain android package name for same code deployed on two different app engine instances

2014-04-22 Thread pankaj anand

We have two app engine instances running the same code for the sake of
testing and production server. We are using endpoints API. Our android app
which connects with both servers uses the same client code generated by
google app engine tools. Based on our need we just switch the server url
usingbuilder.setRootUrl(someUrl);

on our test project we have set the package name and sha1 key to generate
the android client id but we are unable to do so on production server
because of the same package name. It gives an error by saying that package
name should be unique. Now the problem is how do we maintain the code to
connect the app engine. Worst case would be to have two different projects
with different package name.

any other solution ?

[google-appengine] my App Engine account is syspended and so, GSOC account is suspended

2014-03-31 Thread Aayush Anand
hi.. I am an aspirant of GSOC '14.
I did register as student and submitted my proposal. But today when i tried
to login, I found that my access is suspended only to GSOC. I was
redirected to the page saying "If you've been redirected to this page from
a particular product, it means that your access to this product has been
suspended."
I tried to report this that this suspension is due to some error, in the
link provided in the page but i don't feel this will be resolved within 14
hours. that is why I am very scared.
so i posted my issues on GSOC forum and they suggested me to ask from
Melange Developers.
Melange Developers told me Melange uses App Engine for user authentication
and management nad asked me to check if i can open my App Engine account.
i tried logging in appengine.google.com, i was redirected to the page "
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40039?p=ah"; which is the same
page where i was redirected on trying to login for GSOC.
so they hypothesized that even when i visit google-melange.com i am getting
blocked by App Engine before App Engine even passes my request to Melange.
so they gave me the link to this place and asked me to ask for help here..
please look into this. student registration will end in 14 hours for GSOC..
my id is : aayushism12

[google-appengine] Re: Google App Engine community support is moving to Stack Overflow

2014-03-25 Thread Aayush Anand

hi.. I am an aspirant of GSOC '14.
I did register as student and submitted my proposal. But yesterday when i tried
to login, I found that my access is suspended only to GSOC. I was redirected to
the page saying "If you've been redirected to this page from a particular
product, it means that your access to this product has been suspended."

i talked with google voice at GSOC forum and then from Melange developers.
Melange developers informed me that Melange uses App Engine for user
authentication and management and so asked me to check if i can log in to it or
not.
when i tried to log in to it, i faced the same problem. so they hypothesize
that even when i visit google-melange.com i am getting blocked by App Engine
before App Engine even passes my request to Melange.

please see to this.. i have really worked so hard for it. my all hard work will
go in vain if my account is not restored within few hours. please help me out.
student registration will end in 10 hours.

i would also like to share the incident from when i am facing this issue.
actually my GSOC profile was open and was left static in a tab. so that if i
get any reply on my proposal, i can respond to it asap
at the same time i was working to fix a bug for the organisation for whom i
would like to work, on other tabs. This bug was relate to indifferent behavior
on session out. to recreate that bug i was deleting the cookies again and
again. after some time when i went back to my GSOC page and refereshed it, i
was redirected to that page saying "my access is suspended". and from then i am
facing this problem.

Melange-developers hypothesized that App Engine has somehow mistaken the
cookie-clearing behavior as i have described as possibly nefarious and spammy
and put a block on me.

please remove my block.. you can bug-fix this issue later but please remove my
block first.. i don't have time. student registration will end in few hours.

i am posting it here to get your attention.

Looks like you're missing a '/' at the beginning of the python directory
you set in the launcher. If you're using OSX 10.8, you don't need to the
python directory since OSX defaults to using Python 2.7.

Two things:
