Hi dear HanoiLUG'ers! FYI, virror is currently down (well… services are down, not the host) but don't worry: it's only because I'm working on it. I remember why we decided to have a vietnamese repository, all external repository are slow and the official fpt is incomplete. I rely on a HK repository the best I could find is it possible to add the support for ubuntu 13.10 to virror ? JC ? Meanwhile what do you do? Kinh nghiệm của tôi: không tải từ virror.hanoilug.org vì chậm. Tải từ ubuntu.com, chọn server New Zealand sẽ được tốc độ cao (với tôi đã như vậy). Mới có bản Desktop ở đây. Muốn tải bản khác (Alternate,...) thì vào releases.ubuntu.com. Chào bác Jean: Bác có thể làm lại cái ISO cho Ubuntu 10.4 có sẵn các gói language tiếng Việt không ? Hôm kia cài thử U10.4, dùng ISO tải từ http://ubuntu.com/ và chọn cài tiếng Việt thì sau khi setup xong cơ bản nó tiếp tục tải các gói language về mất cả giờ rồi mới có thông báo hoàn thành, khiếp quá ! I am a CentOS user and I will move to Hanoi this March.
Of course the speed of Internet in Vietnam is a big issue

Virror is down again... Thanks to Netnam, I've got a screenshot of the console and it shows a problem with NetFilter's connection tracking. The problem now is that none of the old kernels is working, so it's probably something related to what I did to prepare for CentOS/Fedora mirroring (I created a new virtual server and put some filtering on it = connexion tracking)... Hopefully, I should be able to find out the cause quickly because I'm tracking all /etc modifications using git. But now, since the server is always going down a few minutes after having put it back up, I'll have to go to Netnam's data-center place and check all this offline... In the meantime, to reduce users annoying, I've added our mirror server at AuF as a backup server. Of course it will be slower than the very fast connection Netnam gave us, but at least it's working! Fedora : Many time we ask volunteers to help out with the Fedora mirror (that is very important for me we have Fedora repo) but we were unsure about how to procede.
