RE: [hlds_linux] TF2 bug list

2008-02-07 Thread Don Redhorse
It also happens when your connecting is timing out.. and it recovers OR
you reconnect..

you will see those effects or even checkerbox textures.

I didn't have it from alt-tabbing yet though.. the only problem I get is
loss of FPS when I alt-tab a lot.

TF2 is the only game which shows the errors which where posted by the
OP.. I haven't seen any other source MOD do this.

Yeah i did go try it again, i can get it on the first one, but the
second placement (By the tires), seems impossible without guidance from
people who know how :P

under
constant monitoring, and none of them showed any loss.

Those screens with the demo man are an exploit - you can find a "sweet" spot
if you are demo, sniper or pyro to deploy your weapon through the gate.

i have found the sweet spots to be lower to mid right (if you are behind the
gate)

The model glitches have been around for a long time. In HL2MP, if you alt
tab and come back in, some weapons are sticking out the other players backs.
They look like apes when they run around too. Kinda funny, but it usually
clears up on map change.

I never tried the thing first. Dunno why that would protect the
memory any better, but I'll give it a shot next time I get a support phone
call :)

Saint K, I presume that reconnecting your client will clear up most if not
all of these problems right?

Things which are caused by alt-tabing out and back in are "borderline"
problems, there has been a long history of texture and model glitching that
happens under those sort of curcumstances. Some folks see it rarely, some
see it a lot.

I find that hitting before alt-tab to desktop will usually prevent
most problems like this.

So from my experience ican say that bugs when intel is flying, or
players show like flying or parts of them are missing, or walls are
missing etc. happen ONLY when there is problems with your connection
and for those players, so some loss of data.

So from my experience ican say that bugs when intel is flying, or
players show like flying or parts of them are missing, or walls are
missing etc. happen ONLY when there is problems with your connection
and for those players, so some loss of data.

1.) Because one shot kills are extremely rare except in a fully

still
have lots of other types of damage. Why not have health? What do you
want
 to
do, give everyone a personal shield and a set health and make it
Halo? =P
2.) So now we're asking Valve to make the server predict when the
other
 team
is going to lose and not spawn players? That's silly.

it's

2008-02-06 Thread Saint K.
Here are some more screenshots from my files, I still have to watch the
demo's to see which demo contains what bug. I have asked our players to send
in their screeny's aswell.

Here the intel was floating, were it actually was on someone's back. It
moved around, as if it was on someone's back.

http://www.specialattack.net/downloads/floating_intel.jpg

Here we have a gunless sniper.

http://www.specialattack.net/downloads/gunless_sniper.jpg

And a retarded medic.

http://www.specialattack.net/downloads/medic.jpg

And also a server bug which display's a user has joined multiple times.

RE: [hlds_linux] TF2 bug list

2008-02-06 Thread Saint K.
Yea, use alt+tab often (as we gamers are often also multi-tasking, this
happends quite often).

I'll see if I can upload the whole deal, but it will take me some time
sorting out etc, so can't promise when it will be done.

Cheers,
