Iya aneh, kebawa kebiasaan saya servis HDD biasa kejadian di HDD lama tuh, HDD udah soak, penyebabnya memang kekurangan supply listrik. (Biasa terjadi pada HDD external yang ditancap di USB PC bagian depan yang masih USB 1.0 atau di tancap pada USB PC pentium 4 kebawah yang masih USB 1.0, pasti bunyi dan bikin cepet rusak) Saya biasa anjurkan pakai PSU pure power di setiap PC rakitan , kalau PC branded tentu sudah terhitung dayanya :) Trik servicenya 1. Ketok bagia atas pakai jari telunjuk, terkadang berhasil tuh :) 2. Lepas PCB Hdd, bersihkan connector, pasang kembali. Tuts ini ada di youtube :) 3. Saya beerncana melakukan simulasi virtualaisasi mail server (exchage) just in case ada disaster (amit..amit) dgn menggunakan VMWare. Nah karena sebelumnya pernah coba pake VMware tapi yang versi workstation, pertanyaannya kira-kira produk VMware mana yang cocok untuk virtualisasi disaster recovery (DR). Apakah cukup VMware wokstation aja atau VMware server? Masih binun coz VMware server belum coba? Btw ada yang pernah coba virtualsiasi VMware ini untuk DR? Terus produk image backup mana yang cocok buat backup exhcnage dan Active directory? Pernah coba sysmantec backup exec tapi beuu ribet bgt ya dan file installannya cukup kompleks shg dikahwatirkan ganggu integritas system server (terutama Exchange) sedangkan system server terutama SBS server disarankan jgn banyak program yang dinstall (musti minimalis). Mau setup kantor baru so mau beli peralatan networking, tentunya yang asli lho dan bisa jangka panjang. Saya lagi nyari : - Kabel CAT6 (solid maupun stranded) , merknya belden atau AMP (yang asli pasti) - 2 switch (layer 2) 48 port yang sudah support gigabit (10/100/1000) : maunya sih linksys atau alliend telesyn. Kalau yang sudah layer 3 (routing) jg boleh. Btw maunya cisco tapi kyknya kemahalan. - Patch panel (96 port), yang cocok untuk CAT6 apa ya? masih buta neh speksnya. Merknya samakan aja belden atau AMP - Outlet network yang support CAT6 (belden atau AMP) - Pin untuk CAT6 (btw pin untuk cat 5e masih bisa masuk gak ya?). merknya belden atau AMP - Crimping tools untuk CAT6 (ada gak ya?) - tester networking yang udah support untuk CAT6 Nah ada yang bisa recomend dimana saya bisa beli peralatan networking di atas. Btw minta pendapat juga apakah ada special teknik untuk cabling di CAT6 ini. Misal kalau dilangit-lagit pake CAT6, sedangkan dari outlet ke PC pake CAT5e (spy gampang crimping)..apakah bisa dan apakah akan mempengaruhi performance jika ada combinasi CAT5e dan CAT6?) Dear All, Begini ceritanya, ada salah satu PC kami dimana di local Area Connection Status (Icon pc yang suka kerlap kerlip di tray icon) packet send/received-nya mencapai jutaan kadang sampai di atas 12.000.000 bytes paket (kayak broadcast flooding). Padahal di PC yang lainnya atau even di server sekalipun tidak sampai mencapai nilai seperti itu. Paling banter kalau dipake seharian nyampe di bawah 100.000 Bytes. efeknya kalau buka/save file doc dari fileserver suka lama banget, sedangkan di pc lain lumayan cepet. Kira-kira permasalahannya ada di mana ya, apa : 1. Lan card-nya harus diganti ? tapi ternyata pake pc lain di colokin di tempat tsb ternyata juga lemot kalau buka/save dari fileserver.. 2. Apakah masalah ada di switch coz gw pake sich beda merek Linksys (24 port) ama DLink (16 port x 2) dipasang secara cascade? atau baiknya gw pake switch yang sekaian aja 50 port.. 3. atau mungkin di kabel-nya? mohon share-nya, mungkin ada pengalaman rekans yang pernah seperti ini. hi all friend. Sekarang saya sudah pindah kerja, di tempat lama saya ada sebuah server dengan active directory, webserver, mail server, dan memiliki 2 NIC satu ke modemADSL satu lagi ke switch/hub. Pada modem ADSL ada IP WAN dan IP LAN, IP WAN statik dan public. Saat itu saya ingin IP WAN public tersebut nempel di server saya, artinya bisa di akses via internet. Saya coba pelajari, google dan milist tentunya. Coba ganti modem/router ADSL tsb dengan sebuah gateway server dengan 2 NIC. eth0 untuk IP WAN (215.23.x.x) dan eth1 untuk IP LAN (192.168.x.x). Jika kamu gak expert linux, coba pake distro Clarkconnect atau IPCop (beli aja di gundang linux). Diajmin langsung 'PLEK' karenan GUInya adalah web based. Di situ tersedia IP forwading mau itu port SMTP atau HTTP sehingga si server di dalam LAN bisa communicate dengan internet. Juga ada fasilitas content filtering dan web proxy-nya. Pokoke asyik deh. Saya juga pernah nagalamin blank sperti itu. Sebabnya adalah Anda belum mengisikan setting IMAP dan POP3 servernya. Agar bisa loading halamn loginya, sebaiknya ganti setting localhost dengan domain anda sendiri (misal myserver.com). Insya Allah pasti jalan. Betul sekali. Kalau kita langsung colok windows pake IP public biasanya suka muncul yang aneh-aneh seperti worm (Reg-Fix), uPnp dan Portscan. Mending pasangin firewall linux. Udah banyak kok distro linux yang cukup mudah dinstall buat dijadikan firewall. Diantaranya IPCop, ClarkConnect ama Mandrake MNF. Gak kalah dari ISA Server. Kamu bisa download aja Isonya dari internet. Atau beli aja CDnya di gudang linux.
