[JAWS-Users] Transact SQL
I have been asked to add Transact SQL to my skill set. When I last looked at SQL Server, it didn't look too friendly with JAWS, but that was a few years ago. What accessibility issues will I be facing if I try to accomplish this task? I would be expected to maintain and update several databases if I succeed, and potentially use Transact SQL to accomplish various programming tasks. Currently I program in COBOL on a mainframe, and am highly competitive for speed and proficiency. Could I be competitive with SQL? Thanks in advance. [JAWS-Users] ie9, jaws 12 and wlm
This makes no sense. With the new jaws 1158 and ie9 installed I still have the problem with jaws automatically reading a wlm message. I am guessing that it is something in ie9. With the same configuration but with ie8 when I delete an opened message the next message is opened and automatically read. When I install ie9 this is no longer the case. The first message that I open is automatically read. When I delete it the next message is opened but not read. Using any key on the speech pad the message is then read in total. I am using win 7 home 32 bit. It does not change if I have message headers on or off. Hello Fred, 1. If focus is in the inbox use CTRL+3 to move focus to the contacts list. 2. Use Alt key followed by V, followed by A, followed by B, followed by V to launch the "advanced settings" dialog box. 3. Either use Alt+S or use tab key in the dialog box to the Sort button and press spacebar. 4. You should find an edit combo box in which you can use up or down arrow key to choose your first sorting choice. 5. Use tab key to the group of radio buttons for selecting between ascending or descending order. Use up or down arrow key if necessary to make a change. 6. Use tab key to the second edit combo and make your selection using up or down arrow key. 7. Tab to the group of radio buttons to make your choice for the sorting order and use up or down arrow key to select the appropriate radio button. 8. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar. Take care. [JAWS-Users] Focus issues with Insert J
All versions of jaws 12 and possibly 11 cant remember. Windows seven 64 bit. Pressing Insert j and then the letter A to go to the about information reads me the inrormation and then when I press escape I have lost focus. Pressing Insert J going to help and then clicking on Check for updates brings me to the UAC enquiring is I wish to let jaws in. I press yes I have now lost focus, I have to Alt tab to the jaws update screen, I guess some people may think nothing happened. I have had this problem for a long time wondered if anyone could advise if perhaps I have some setting not quite right or if this is a common issue. So can we assume that FS are dropping windows leve mail etc. I see they have concentrated on thunderbird and there is no mention of Live Mail. Can we please be told the score here please. At this time, we are in the process of completing the final testing with the new MAGic Low Vision Keyboard that is scheduled to start shipping in the next week or two along with the MAGic 11 update. Once the testing is complete, the Automatic Updates feature of JAWS will be turned on for this update and all JAWS 12 English users will get this 1158 build. In the meantime, we wanted to take this opportunity for users to get this build early if they would like so we have posted it as the Download version on our web site. I have included the details of the changes in the release below. I have provided the download links at the bottom of this message. Regards, Eric Damery Freedom Scientific, Inc. JAWS 12 Features and Enhancements as of April 2011 JAWS Support for New MAGic Large Print Keyboard The MAGic Large Print Keyboard is a new accessory that contains extra keys assigned to the most commonly used MAGic functions. Its large and contrasting letters also make it easier to type and use MAGic hot keys. Using the MAGic Keyboard Manager, you can assign different MAGic functions to these keys. For example, if you do not use dual monitors, you can change the Jump to Next Display key to any other feature item such as mute system sounds. The keyboard also allows the assignment of shortcuts to keys. With a shortcut, the keys can launch applications, open files on your computer or in a network folder, or open a favorite Web site. For example, you can assign the M1 key (available along the top of the MAGic Large Print Keyboard) to open a document that you need to regularly access. Another benefit is that you can use the keyboard with JAWS screen reading software. Similar to MAGic, you can assign hot keys to JAWS functions while also using the keyboard with or without running MAGic. Note that when running the two applications together, the JAWS functionality will override the MAGic functionality. Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Support JAWS 12 has been further enhanced for Internet Explorer 9 which is available for users of Windows 7 and Vista. Re: [JAWS-Users] 64 bit or 32?
Well wither it drops there sale or not. The 64 bit system is here and 32 bit systems are dyeing fast. Unless custom built. You won't find 32 bit. I also don't see where prices are hurt any. The only war is between netbooks and laptops and yes there is a difference. At 07:30 PM 4/20/2011, you wrote: I'd run from anything 64 bit as majority of open and closed source 3rd party apps and programs out there all work either only on 32 bit or they work smoothly only on 32 bit. In fact notice how all awesome sounding sales f for PC's and laptops with awesome specs selling for too good prices all have 64 bit OS. Seems the PC makers and retailers recog that 64 bit drops their sales.
