Delete all instances of your normal.dot file. Afterwards when you open
a new document in Word, it will create a new normal.dotx template. Then
you can try adjusting the font size there.

I have tried every method I know to change the font size in Word 2010.
I use
JAWS 12. I need 12-point. It was originally 14 and then when I changed
it to
12, it now reads 10-point which is not acceptable. I have tried to

luck. I
cannot figure out how to make this a permanent template with 12-point

which is becoming maddening.

Any help to resolve this issue will be tremendously appreciated.

Another alternative might be for you to contact a Microsoft Word forum,
which some Microsoft MVP's routinely monitor for user problems, which
they often may address or fix. Likewise, you could do a google search
for something like, unable get desired font point size Microsoft Word .
Look in the results you get, and refine the search phrase (if required).

Hello Liuda,

After you either type in the font size or arrow to the size you want to use
and you use the Set as Default button, in the resulting dialog you need to
tab to a group of radio buttons and choose for it to apply to the normal
template and not just the current document. . You use the OK button after
choosing the appropriate radio button. I use Word 2013 but I think that is
the same in Word 2010. You might have already done that but I thought I
would point it out in case you were missing that step.

Take care.

[JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010

2014-02-27 Thread Liuda
I have tried every method I know to change the font size in Word 2010. I use
JAWS 12. I need 12-point. It was originally 14 and then when I changed it to
12, it now reads 10-point which is not acceptable. I have tried to adjust
the setting to 14 to try to get it to stick and stop at 12-point. No luck. I
cannot figure out how to make this a permanent template with 12-point font
which is becoming maddening.

Any help to resolve this issue will be tremendously appreciated.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010

2014-02-27 Thread Liuda
David, I am using Win 7, JAWS 12 and Word 2010. I have only the option that
is close to what you have, all documents based on the normal template. That
is checked and yet it will not change the font to 12, only 10, 11 or 14.
Have no idea why. Do you think there is any other way I can try to change
this permanently, since that method does not work for some unknown reason??
Thank you very much.

so your saying, after entering on the default button, and saying yes to save
changes,
when you completely close word, again, are you saying yes to save changes?
if not, this is why it's not changing.

2014-02-27 Thread Liuda
I am saying YES both times and I can change it to 10, 11 and 14, but not 12
for some strange reason. Makes no sense. Any other way I can attempt to make
this change, even with sighted assistance and a mouse? I truly need to make
this change since my book may be in 12 rather than 14 point font and the
formatting must be perfect.
Thank you very much for all help.
