Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010
Delete all instances of your normal.dot file. Afterwards when you open a new document in Word, it will create a new normal.dotx template. Then you can try adjusting the font size there. - Original Message - From: Liuda balciu...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2014 3:33 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010 I am saying YES both times and I can change it to 10, 11 and 14, but not 12 for some strange reason. This is not so easy. I have specific margins which are not easy for me to set, since I don't know their exact settings and everything else in the template. I would hate to mess that all up. There must be some other alternative because you said that I should be able to adjust the font size, after this is done. It is not a given, however. Another alternative might be for you to contact a Microsoft Word forum, which some Microsoft MVP's routinely monitor for user problems, which they often may address or fix. Likewise, you could do a google search for something like, unable get desired font point size Microsoft Word . Look in the results you get, and refine the search phrase (if required). - Original Message - From: Flor Lynch florl...@iol.ie To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, February 28, 2014 8:30 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010 Then back up that template file, by copying/pasting it to soemwhere else: After that, as a first step, do as instructed before. the template file may in anmy case be corrupted. - Original Message - From: Liuda balciu...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, February 28, 2014 6:08 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010 This is not so easy. Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010
Hello Liuda, After you either type in the font size or arrow to the size you want to use and you use the Set as Default button, in the resulting dialog you need to tab to a group of radio buttons and choose for it to apply to the normal template and not just the current document. . You use the OK button after choosing the appropriate radio button. I use Word 2013 but I think that is the same in Word 2010. You might have already done that but I thought I would point it out in case you were missing that step. Take care. I have tried to adjust the setting to 14 to try to get it to stick and stop at 12-point. No luck. I cannot figure out how to make this a permanent template with 12-point font which is becoming maddening. Any help to resolve this issue will be tremendously appreciated. Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010
so your saying, after entering on the default button, and saying yes to save changes, when you completely close word, again, are you saying yes to save changes? if not, this is why it's not changing. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Liuda Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2014 10:14 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010 David, I am using Win 7, JAWS 12 and Word 2010. I have only the option that is close to what you have, all documents based on the normal template. That is checked and yet it will not change the font to 12, only 10, 11 or 14. Have no idea why. Do you think there is any other way I can try to change this permanently, since that method does not work for some unknown reason?? Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010
I am saying YES both times and I can change it to 10, 11 and 14, but not 12 for some strange reason. Makes no sense. Any other way I can attempt to make this change, even with sighted assistance and a mouse? I truly need to make this change since my book may be in 12 rather than 14 point font and the formatting must be perfect. Thank you very much for all help. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of david Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2014 10:29 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010 so your saying, after entering on the default button, and saying yes to save changes, when you completely close word, again, are you saying yes to save changes? if not, this is why it's not changing. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Liuda Sent: Thursday, February 27, 2014 10:14 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Font will not permanently change in Word 2010 David, I am using Win 7, JAWS 12 and Word 2010.
