The first thing that you need to do for setting up Gmail in WLM, is to sign
into your Gmail acount at gmail.com, and find the forwarding item inside of
the settings tab. Here, you need to select the IMAP as your choice because
this is easier to use than the POP3 Server settings.

While in the Settings tab, also select the item called Labels, and check off
the folders that you want to appear in WLM under your Gmail account.

Now, open up WLM and the Add an Account wizard, and start setting up the
account by inputting your Gmail address, the password, etc. Be sure that the
"secure server" and "requires verification" boxes are checked.

The incoming server will be imap.gmail.com, and the port willbe 993.

The outgoing server will be smtp.gmail.com, and this port will be 587.

Re: [JAWS-Users] GMail on Web Jaws17 Windows10?

2016-06-06 Thread Humberto Rodriguez
Hello David and all:

I don't think she meant how to navigate the web in general, rather I suspect
she was referring to the Gmail page which is very troublesome to use with
Jaws. I use POP to download my Gmail messages, but I need to administer a
mailing list with googlegroups.com y I dread everytime I need to perform any
chore on it, it is very difficult with Jaws.

It seems Google uses Ajax, but I don't know what else they do that the
result is very aggravating to a Jaws user, to say the least. If anyone has
suggestions on how to improve that experience, I would be grateful.

Regards,

Humberto

Hi,
You can find all of the information for navigating the web by doing the
following:
Press INSERT+J to open the JAWS menu, and press ALT+H to get into the help
menu. Press R to open the web resources sub menu and arrow to surfing the
web with JAWS. Press enter on that, and you will be taken to the surfs up
web site and there are many lessons that teach you how to navigate many
different situations on the web such as forms, tables, and so on. You will
really learn a lot from this surfs up with JAWS training page and that is
the best way to get to it. Take care.

[JAWS-Users] gmail and mailing lists

2014-07-28 Thread Kimsan
Hello:

This topic was discussed a while back but my memory fails me.

When participating in a mailing list using a gmail address is it true that
the email you compose will not show up in the mailing list or is there a
work-around for that. If memory serves, I think I read somewhere in order
to make that happen one must place the word recent: before the user name,
or is it simply dependent upon each mailing list and how it's handled.

Thank you.

Hello Lisa;
someone told me, if you set up recent mode in your GMailPopAccount, that,
you should be able to receive all messages.

Setting up 'recent mode'

In your POP client settings replace
usern...@gmail.com
 or email field with;
recent:usern...@gmail.com

not sure how true this is, but it may be worth a try.
David Whitehead

Hi Dean,

This is from some notes I have saved regarding this topic. Try the
following;
To be able to get, and see the posts you send to the lists you belong to
with Gmail, do the following:

Assuming you're using a standard e-mail client like Outlook Express or
Outlook, open up the tools menu, then arrow down to accounts and press
enter.

Once in the dialog box, highlight your Gmail account, and tab to the
properties button, and press the spacebar.

You should be on the General Tab. Now, tab down
to the e-mail address edit field.

In that field, type the word recent with a colon before your e-mail address.

So, if you're typing this information into your e-mail field, you would type
in:

recent:dwmaster...@gmail.com

Tab down to the apply button, press the spacebar, then shift+tab back to the
ok button and press
the spacebar.

You'll land back on the accounts dialog box, at which point, you tab to the
close button, then press the spacebar again.

The next time you send and receive your messages, you'll receive each and
every message you ever sent via Gmail, so be prepared to get a flood of
e-mails once you do this.

Take care.

[JAWS-Users] Gmail resolution of password entry

2014-02-05 Thread Liuda Balcius

During Tuesday I had computer operations interrupted. The problem was
repaired, although ever since when I open Outlook 2010 to send or receive
e-mail, I am required to enter my password into the field and okay it or
else the requested operation stops right there and never happens.

What can I do to make this Gmail password entry permanent, so that I do not
need to continually enter it repeatedly? Nowhere can I find some place to
stop this from happening.

2013-10-31 Thread David Whitehead
hello;
if you've gone to the gmail account, settings
Under the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
chose pop,
then you should be able to have outlook automatically set up the gmail
account once you've entered your email and password.

have you tried this?
maybe, if your wanting to manually setup the account,
you should erace what you have and start from begining.

I guess the bigger question is why am I so hung up with pop? I guess there

How do I explain this. I lost some of my messages from my inbox. However,

believe it was the subject, and hit save link as. It saved it but it said
account options, tables and stuff like that. It wasn't the text of the
message. I guess I'm asking if anybody knows how I can save individual
messages from my gmail inbox. I hope someone knows. I have Jaws 12 and the

Dear all

Recently, I have switched to Outlook 2010. I have configured IMAP on my
Outlook for my Gmail account.

When I reply or reply to all an email, I don't see it in my Sent folder in
Outlook. When I sign in to the web version, I see that there are two copies

Is there a setting AI have configured wrongly or left out?

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit laptop with JAWS 14 installed.

Hope everyone have a great day.

Thank you very much.

Not really. If you have set it up in Outlook using Pop3 the settings in
Outlook Express will be similar.

Alt t for tools, A for accounts, New account. Then, you will need to go
into server properties and check the box for SSL, and go to advanced and set
the server ports.

To Jon: Thank you for this additional step. When I use Outlook 2003
to send out mails now, when do a Send/Recieve, I won't get my own
mails. Definitely have lesser mails to clear. LOL

To Jimmy: You solved it. Now mails by others sent to me will not
stay on the server. No need to delete the same mails twice.
Didn't know there was such a setting because when I use my Pac Mate to
check mails, they disappear from the server. So thought it strange
that it did not happen in Outlook 2003 for the XP Operating System.

  Thank you.

Regards,
Siew Ling

[JAWS-Users] Gmail and Outlook 2003 questions

2009-09-28 Thread Tan Siew Ling
Hi,

I'm running JAWS 9 on my Netbook running XP Home.

Question 1: JAWS say no links in any folder
When I am in Outlook 2003, when I am in any folder, JAWS will say no
links. In order to see the items, I need to press Function key 6. What
does this Function key do?

Question 2: Not keeping messages on the server
I have set up Outlook to not leave a copy of the message on the
server. However, when I go up to the server, THE MESSAGES ARE STILL
THERE *Yell*. Horror! I have to delete them again.
Not to leave a copy on the server:
The steps I take:
Alt to Tools
Email accounts
Change existing account
Next
More settings
Shift-tab
advance tab
Leave a copy on server (Not check)

Besides here, where else do I need to make the adjustments?

Oh, this same 2 also happened to my laptop which used to JAWS 10
(Gone now) and XP Professional.

  Thank you.

Siew Ling

Hi Siew Ling,
There is one extra step you need to perform when using Gmail.

1. Alt to Tools
2. Email accounts
3. Change existing account
4. Next
 5. type recent: in front of your username.
6. Click all the OK buttons.
This will keep your outgoing mail off their server.

Your folder problem isn't clear to me yet.
If you alt plus T, then o, then control plus tab when in a folder such as My
Documents, are the radio buttons set to classic?
If not, you might try that.

Jon

You have to change the setting on web mail to don't save a copy of messages.
This should be in your pop settings when you log into gmail webmail.

Hi,
Actually that doesn't get rid of your sent messages but only applies to
messages sent to you from others.
You need to add Recent: to your username for Gmail as I stated earlier.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Gmail message rules

2009-07-06 Thread Elaine

Hi mike

hmmm...I'll have a go. *smiles*

firstly, you have to log on to the gmail server with the account details,
username and password.

I'm going to assume either you or the person have been there?

assuming you are using a screen reader, I'd change the view to make it
easier to read links. you can have this as default when you log in.

ok, so you should now be in your account on the in box page.

you need to get to the spam link. you can either arrow down to it or using
the links list, insert F7, then press the letter S for spam, until you reach
that item. then hit enter to select and activate that link.

you should now be able to go down to the spam box.

I've just done this by hitting insert F6, then I looked for spam. there were
two items here but it's the second one you want. that is of course if your
links have two spam items.

if this proves to be difficult, you can arrow down to where you will see a
lot of emails with links etc. these are the emails that Gmail has blocked.

on the page it says spam then under that is a combo box which says, more
actions. this is a list of actions you can perform once you have checked
an email.

you can go through the list of course and if you find the email there you
can first check that email and then look for the button that says not spam

the other way to do this is to just in put the person's name in to the edit
search box and hope gmail can locate it from there.

sometimes gmail does add the wrong emails to this spam list, so if I know
I'm expecting an email and don't get it in outlook express, I go to this
page and go through the emails.

by placing a check on the email allows you to perform an action including
deleting these emails permanently from the google server.

as I said, I periodically go through this list and either delete the emails
out right or mark them to go to the in box. then they are delivered when you
next get emails from outlook express.

you can resend emails this way too.

as long as you have your emails kept on google server, you can always
retrieve emails this way that you might have deleted on outlook express.

trust me, it does come in handy to keep backup emails.

I hope this makes sense. I'm not that good at writing instructions.

Hi Darin and all,
I am not looking to buy real estate but am looking for a way to calculate
answers using Jaws.
In college I knew these formulas but it has been a long time but back
then I

had sight.
I am reading my Excel book to figure how to set up formula so I can do
sinerio analysis in case I wish to refinance if and when rates drop.
So what mortgage calculator did you use? Do you have direct link?
I used Google but when I entered numbers I was prompted for zip code so I
guess my inquiry would be a sales lead to a broker or loan officer.
Thanks,
Ann

Hi Darren,

I don't believe you're correct in that.

I believe the amount she would be able to get is around the 96000 to
9

dollar amount, based on my experience with real estate sales.

Keep in mind that this is assuming that her income, or, at least, the
1000

is only 33% of her net monthly income, or household income, otherwise no
normal bank will approve you.

One option you could go for is to check online with one of the major
commercial banks, as they will usually have a mortgage calculator on
their

sites that are usually very Jaws friendly.

One place you might also try is HUD's website, as I believe they have a
mortgage calculator on their site, and it's accessible.

Another thing you may want to look for is HUD's programs for people with
disabilities, as they have tonnes of discounts and grants for people
with

disabilities that you can apply for, and this will affect the amount of
mortgage you will pay every month, and lower the amount you will borrow
also.

Just something to look at to ease your burden.

Victor

Re: [JAWS-Users] Gmail IMAP settings?

2009-04-17 Thread Ann Marie Medlar

I have notes for Outlook Express but might be same for Outlook:
In Outlook Express:

1. create a new account for your GMAIL by going to the TOOLS Account
pull-down menu
In the servers dialog enter the following:

My Gmail account Properties
Server Information
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming mail (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
Incoming Mail Server
Account name: enter your GMAIL account Password: ?
Remember password (this should be checked)
Log on using Secure Password Authentication (this check box should not be
checked)
Outgoing Mail Server
My server requires authentication (this check box should be checked)
Settings...
OK Cancel

Now in the ADVANCED dialog page do the following:

 My Gmail account Properties
 Server Port Numbers
Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465 Use Defaults
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) (this check box should be
checked)
 Incoming mail (POP3): 995
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) (this checked also)

 OK Cancel

 Save this information

Now while logged on your GMAIL ACCOUNT AT www.gmail.com

click on any settings link and make sure that POP is enabled the gmail
help can lead you to it.

Now your gmail should work correctly in Outlook Express.

One other note too, she might need to send an eamil from her ISP web site
that's what I had to do with SBC and using Outlook Express.
There's one other thing she might want to make sure is checked on the server

Outgoing Mail Server
Logon Information
**Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Log on using
Account name:

Log on using Secure Password Authentication

make sure where I ** that is checked

If the outgoing port is 25, check with your ISP to make sure it isn't

 HI Nancy.

It should all be within the same account. Try the following if you haven't
 already done so.

 1. From the OE main window, do an alt+T for tools menu, then pres the
 letter A for accounts.
 2. In the accounts list, choose your GMail account and press alt+P for
 account properties.
 3. In the account properties dialog, press control+tab until you get to
 the
 advanced page.
 4. Tab to the incoming pop3 port edit box and type in 995.
 5. Tab to OK and press enter.
 6. Tab to close and press enter.

Try checking for email with that account now.

 Hope this helps.

I just got a gmail account, and, although I've tried everything I know

 automatically
retrieve my gmail messages. It keeps asking me to log in, and, when I
 fill
in the necessary information and click ok, it just goes back to asking

log in. Help, please? Someone told me that there is a list of very
 specific
instructions for jaws users to do this. Where can I find them? I have

Re: [JAWS-Users] gmail to outlook express

2008-01-28 Thread Nancy Lynn
I've almost got it. I can send messages out from OE through gmail, but I
still can't get my gmail back through OE. Do I need to create separate boxes
for these messages? If so, how do I do that?

If the outgoing port is 25, check with your ISP to make sure it isn't
blocked for other SMTP servers. Most ISPs do that for their own protection.

HI Nancy.

It should all be within the same account. Try the following if you haven't
already done so.

1. From the OE main window, do an alt+T for tools menu, then pres the
letter A for accounts.
2. In the accounts list, choose your GMail account and press alt+P for
account properties.
3. In the account properties dialog, press control+tab until you get to the
advanced page.
4. Tab to the incoming pop3 port edit box and type in 995.
5. Tab to OK and press enter.
6. Tab to close and press enter.

Try checking for email with that account now.

Hope this helps.
