We have been constantly praying and planning for this programme since last December. We also need your constant intercession for this month-long training and for the 10 months formation. We want all of you to join this intercession during this time atleast for 15 minutes in a day, wherever you are . Please select any time between 6 p.m and 10 p.m and inform us. Dear friends in Christ
I am also a member of the JOYFUL net from the last two
years. In my spiritual life this group ispired me very much. My
God showered many graces through Jesus Youth. Lord allowed me to
a part to buildup his Kingdom with JY from 1994onwards. He
created many good brothers and sisters for my formation. [From
9th april to 5th may 2002 Me and Reji Kottukappally were visited 5
dioceses of North east as a Part of our DIVYA JYOTHI (National
Intercession programme for world peace) programme.] Now I am in
the age of 30. Last year I stopped my Hill produce business and
preparing for joining a seminary. Yes, He decided to call me for
a lifetime work for his kingdom.
On next monday(10th) I will join the MCBS Minor Seminary in
Athirampuzha,Kottayam (5km far from Kottayam Medical
College)Kerala. Throughthese years my Lord Trained me in many
ways. He allowed me to know the actual life situations of the
ordinary man. Through my 7 years business and One year employed
days I met many kind of people who are facing many types of
problems. He allowed me to be a part of this ordinary people.
Now I am giving thanks to my friends in Jesus Youth
especially Shinto(4th batch Full Timer) my First companion in
Jesus Youth. And also my Loving brothers and sisters of JY
Kasaragod.
I request all of your valuable prayers for my future life.
My only prayer is to make me as a Jesus Presence in the
seminary.

[JOYnet] Sacred Heart of Jesus loves us
Today we celebrate the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As a young boy I used to wonder why there was a celebration such as the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I have asked one of the nuns about the relevance of the Feast of Sacred Heart. She smiled and told me yes this is very important to celebrate the feast because Jesus loves us and yet I couldnt place the relevance of the association of the symbol Heart to Love. That was a long time back and that was me at that time. So the Sister said The color Red and Rose flowers stand for love. Then the sister told me To feel the love, you need a heart. I think she did a good job with me. Jesus Loves me, was the lesson I learned from the whole discourse and I started saying to myself So Jesus has a heart. Jesus felt much the same way as we do. Jesus expressed his love. Jesus taught about happiness. Happy are the poor in Spirit Mt. 5.3. All throughout the Gospels, Jesus expressed his concern for the suffering people. Jesus identified himself with the! less fortunate. Jesus healed the mother in law of Peter. He touched her hand and the fever left herMt.8.14. Jesus did many other miracles. Jesus expelled demons, prophesied the coming destructions and warned the people to escape such calamities. Jesus felt pain, anger, sadness. Jesus reacted to his feelings. He didnt hide his feelings. He even wept in public. He calmed the sea, forgave the sinners, fed the hungry, loved the children, prayed for the Apostles and all of us, expressed his love to his mother and the rest of the community from the Cross. Jesus died for us. Jesus promised I will not leave you orphan and to fulfill the promise, Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to his disciples. He even cooked for the hungry disciples on the beach after rising from the dead and Jesus send the Holy Spirit as he promised. Jesus wants everyone to be saved so he ! gave the mandate Go then, to all the peoples and make them disciples and Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.. Know that I will be with you till the end of the world Mt.28. 19 and 20. Jesus loves us, and that is why we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Jesus loved us with an unparalleled love. Jesus wants to hear that we love him. Jesus asked Peter three times Do you love me John21.15 and Jesus wants us to love him more than anyone else. Whoever loves Jesus will obey my teaching. My father will love him John14.23. If we love Jesus, we will become, the mother, the brothers and sisters of Jesus. Jesus is a compassionate person. Hey friends, Just explored something great today; and couldnt rest till I shared it; (Sorry for sending such a lengthy mail) Today as I just sat to prepare for a healthy confession I turned the pages of my bible to 1 cor 13:1 Wow! What a great description of love . Myself, being a dreamer and a die hard romantic, couldnt stop myself from just scribbling down some notes about this wonderful passage; So, define love, please ? God is love, 1Jn 4:16 Love is eternal 1 cor 13:8 What then are the characteristics of love?(1 cor 13:4-7) *love is patient and kind *it is not jealous or conceited or proud *It is not ill mannered or selfish or irritable *Love does not keep a record of wrongs *Love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth *love never gives up *There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out all fear(1Jn 4:18) What then could be the manifestations of love? 1)FAITH (love that believes God and the best about others) 2)PATIENCE (long suffering love, with understanding and power to endure) 3)KINDNESS (love with understanding and a smile) 4)GOODNESS (love in action; mind full of others 5)GENTLENESS (Love at ease, enjoying companionship) 6)SELF CONTROL (Love with power; greater than that of selfishness) 7)PEACE (love that sets your heart and mind at rest Oof! All these revelations just seemed too much for me to digest; Just imagine , if I really went to reflect on each of these aspects of my life, my list of sins would just go lengthier that the total number of Kbytes my computer memory ever had. Just when I start thinking of the various situations I come across, situations when , forget loving others, but even just tolerating certain people becomes just as difficult, when, in a world full of critics, where people lay await at times to just pounce at the first available opportunity, is it possible to love them as we love ourselves? And then, when I start thinking through these lines, my Jesus again draws my attention to the fact that we love because HE loved us first; and before my very eyes of imagination plays this wonderful scene, Just imagine, God, the King of kings, the Majesty of majesties whom, the heavens and all creatures on earth adore and worship, sacrifices His heavenly form for a certain time and chooses to live in a life of filthy and sinful humans, where each one in His own way is just criticizing him, insulting and rejecting Him, and making plans to crucify Him? And Yet, that is exactly what our loving Saviour did for us; As if, that was not enough , to demonstrate His love even further, He gives up, even that adopted human body and permits it to undergo all kinds of hardships and pains and finally the merciless death on the cross. Well, the love of God indeed! It really has no limitations or boundaries; His love just couldnt rest, till He had really given us all of Himself. Want the proof? Well! Read Luke 24:13-35 After having died for us, He appears again, humbles Himself in the lowly form of a bread and gives us His own flesh to eat; (Why else do you think, did He disappear as soon he had broken the breadwell, he did not actually disappear but took the form of a bread) And it is this bread that is broken the Holy Eucharist everyday and given to us. Well, well, now; after having reflected so much about His all sacrificing, all giving love, even to the worst sinner like me(I wish I could tell you, what a sinner I can be at times), I guess I should not find it much difficult; to try and love my neighbor as myself; Will I succeed, in this commitment to love, love in the face of rejection and hatred; love even those people, who leave no stones unturned to hurt me, each time I come across them .well, perhaps I will have to, since there is no other choice, that is what my saviour wants me to do? So on this day of the feast of the sacred heart od Jesus, why not join me in my commitment to love? (Oops! Dear JYs, Praise to our awesome GOD. I just thought of sharing an unfortunate thing that happened yesterday while I was on my way for an intercession meeting in Chennai. What happened was i lost my mobile. it was pickpocketted in the bus. But 2 days back it self, something(I know now, the BIG HE) was telling in my mind that iam going to lose some thing important. I thought it should be something else. I shared with a close friend of mine, that i think iam going to miss some thing. Actually since God was preparing me to that level, now iam able to pray for that man who needed my mobile more than me. Pray that let him see Jesus. So iam happy to say HE is so close to me even to warn me. One lesson for me as Word of God says 'Never despise any inspired messages'. Iam happy to say that God is caring for me, as iam least bothered of my missed mobile which was a memorable item which I got from UK. Praise the Lord. It is truly true that Chennai group will grow as each of us will have some blocks or the other before going for the meeting. Dear All in my Jesus Jason is the inspiration behind this mail as he said in his mail "Its so unusual, nomails so far wishing us all abt the Feast." I had planned to write about this but since I was a bit busy I forgot.Then Jesus made Jason to remind me. Today morning when I got up I did not even think that it was the feast of the Sacred Heart.I was very tired as the mosquitos in my room had nice meal over me and I was late to bed after a lot of washing.I had mailed about the need for personal prayer and humility. I add one more to the list the Holy Sacraments. For the past few days I was not receieving Christ in the Holy Eucharist due to lazyness. Then without my knowledge I started using bad indecent words. So today I made up my mind that I would go for the Mass. I was a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration and during the sermon Fr.Sunny told us that as we renew the consecration of ourselves to the Holy Heart of jesus we should renew ourselves. Then best part was I was having a lot of grudge to someone and when I gave it my Jesus and received him I was feeling great today. After mass we made the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The best one I ever made.there were the nuns and hostellers Fr.Sunny and me. Throughout scripture we find individuals saying to god, here I am.When god calls to Moses From the burning bush, Moses answers, Here I am.(Ex 3:4) When God summons Samuel in The middle of the night, Samuel responds with Here I am.(1 Samuel 3:4). And when God Asks the prophet Isaiah, Whom shall I send, Isaiah replies, Here am I; send me! (Is 6:8) Those three little words make a beautiful prayer. Here I am. Not there. Not where I Used to be or where I will be someday or where I wish I were. But here. In this place. Amid These specific circumstances. Here I am. Not as I was yesterday or as I will be tomorrow or As I wish I were. But as I am. In this condition, this shape. With these particular thoughts and Feelings Perhaps all prayer should begin with a simple, Here I am, god. It should begin with the humble Acknowledgement and acceptance of where we find ourselves and who we are on this particular Day. Only then can we hope to begin to move forward and beyond with Gods grace, of course. Here I am, God. With your grace, help me to begin to move beyond where and who I am today. [JOYnet] 2 New Faces on JoyNet
Dear JYs First of all I would like to wish you all a Happy Sacred Heart Feast. Yep today is the Big F - of our beloved Sacred Heartof Jesus. Its so unusual, no mails so far wishing us all abt the Feast. Anyways I take this opportunity to introduce two new faces on Joynet. Both are from Mumbai. 1) Jennifer D'souza ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) - I guess you all must have got her email by now titled "Birthday Wishes - Thanx". We are blessed to have two Jennifer's from Mumbai now out here on Joynet. So as usual there were some of us who did get confused in replying to her. Jennifer is a good friend and former office colleague of our own Welchy and after hearing so much about us wonderful people :) she has joined us. At present she is in the prayer grp of her parish. I had an opportunity of meeing her recently and is a wonderful person to know. 2) Jefferson Herbert ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) - Yeah my own brother. Actually more my funee half... :) After finally filling his head for over a year with the wonderful moments experienced by me with u wonderful ppl., he has finally joined us. My brother has just given his TY exams and is awaiting his results patiently which are due any moment so do keep him in ur prayers. Dear friends, Suicide, whether a fashion or not is definetely a way of the cowards. I remember once a patient(around16 year old boy) i came across in mangalore It was the case mof tablet consumption. He had swallowed around 50 tablets(He did not know the names of those tablets) After the initial first aid, and a good stomach wash when he finally began improving, I took it u[pon my self to rehabilitate him back to health-health, physical, emotional and spiritual. One day after much prayer, when i approached this person and listened to the story of his broken heart(which was indeed broken by a girl), I asked him to plac his trust and faith in Jesus, because Jesus has said in the bible"... Well before i could continue, he , just in one breadth, told me various verses from the bible(along with chapter and verse number) where it speaks about the infinite love of God. And finally he added, "whats the use of all those words sister, they are good for preaching, but they dont solve our problems" (I learnt later that he was a guitarist in one of the reputed retreat centres and of course had spent his life hearing the word of God) Here, was indeed a young teenager who knew the bible word to word byheart but perhaps those soothing words of the bible, had only reached his mind and never his heart. Well, psycologists and psychiatrists may adequately provide the explanation that suicide is a result of decreased dopamine in the brain which leads to increased depression. But, the only cause of suicide, that i have ever known is " suicide is a result of decreased jesus in the heart which eventually leads to inferiorituy complexes, depressions and lack of ability to cope. The best 2 examples for this in the Bible are the story of Peter and of Judas Ischariot. The one with Jesus in his heart (PETER) after having betrayed Jesus, seeked his forgiveness and became the rock on which the entire church was built; but the one without Jesus(Judas) in his heart commited suicide by hanging himself , overcome with shame and guilt, after having betrayed Jesus. love, anita, kuwait.
