And you say that you are able to connect one system to another via an IR connections using DCC between two systems, yes? If that's so... I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I have also just bought an L3 and do have the disks. I bought mine on Ebay from a local here in San Francisco (I wouldn't have done it otherwise, I contacted him ahead of time). It is a lovely machine, but I haven't had time to play with it, and yes, it is all in Japanese. All the stuff, even my read file. The Win2000 is Japanese but the XP is English. But many of the files in XP turn up Japanese too. I can't get the ports going, can't find ANYTHING. It has a partition, though, guys. Thought you'd like that. Maybe the ports are hibernating. Just kidding. Anyway, his email is [EMAIL PROTECTED] I need to ask him for help and find out if there's an English version too. Or do you just have entries for things like, "Parallel cable on LPT1", or "Serial cable on COM2" without any reference to being a virtual IR port. Though I have IR enabled and running successfully for tranferring files with the icon in My Computer... I've tried all of the ports that DCC has found on each Lib. None indicate that they're virtual IR ports. I've set up every port in DCC on each Lib, and none recognize IR when I attempt a connection between the two Libs. Search Libretto Mailing List Archives. If it is one of those HDs, you'll have to connect two pins on the HD to change it from C/S (cable select mode) back into Master mode to make it work. = adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __ Do You Yahoo!? I have not ripped >with it though, so will report on that ASAP. Yeah... I didn't have any problems writing to CDs with the drive. Nor did I have problems reading data from the drive. It was when I used my favorite MP3 player, MusicMatch v4.0 to rip audio from music CDs that I ran into problems. Programs were complaining that they couldn't extact digital audio from the designated drive. I did a few Google searches, and found a complaint about the M820E having problems with MusicMatch ripping CDs. I'd prefer to use the same program to play and rip MP3s, and not to have to clutter up my HDD with a bunch of programs, but had to do so in this case. The Toshiba 20X CDROM drive in my desktop does not appear on the EAC web site's "preferred" list (neither does the HP m820e), but rips are lightning fast (audio CD ripped to .wav, saved to SCSI HDD in just a few minutes) and glitch-free.
