Hi Adrian. In the future, can you please make your subject lines more specific?
If you only have one word subjects like this, people might delete the message.
Now as for your question, I've had this problem too. Just keep trying until it
installs. I had to do it three times myself before it installed.

Re: Having Itunes problems

2009-09-27 Thread Jude DaShiell

After tabbing over to songs, interact with songs and then expand songs
then move down to genres and select your genre and interact with that
genre. Once you do that, another list opens inside that genre with
relevant streams. So move down to each stream and select it and then open
it up.On Thu, 1 Jan 2009, Robert Dehard wrote:

Having trouble selecting text

2011-06-29 Thread Shannon Dyer
Hi, all.

I have a feeling I'm missing something really simple, because I'm guessing this
really shouldn't be that hard.

I use command shift and the up or down arrows to select text, but it doesn't
seem to work. If I'm in a list of files, and I want to select two or three of
them, it somehow selects them all. If I'm on a website, it selects the first
few lines, but then, VO stops speaking.

Any thoughts?

Still having dropbox issues

2011-11-24 Thread Kirsten Edmondson
Hi, I'm still not having any luck with dropbox.
I got a response from the tech guys at dropbox.com and he said I should try
unlinking and re-linking my dropbox so that hopefully I would then get access
to all my files-as it is currently empty and I know it's quite full in reality.
He said to go
1) Right click the Dropbox icon in the system tray at the bottom right of your
screen, by the clock on Windows or menu bar at the top of your screen on Mac.
2) Select 'Preferences'
3) Click the Account tab and then the 'Unlink' button

So where is this menu bar/icon he's talking about? I know exactly what he's
talking about regarding Windows, but not for Mac.
If I open dropbox in the applications window it says 'dropbox has no windows'
and every time I try to get to preferences it says 'finder preferences'.
Thanks.
Kirsten.

Having Trouble With Dropbox

2014-10-02 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
Hi all. I want to send a link to a file I created to the list. It's a tutorial.
However I can't seem to figure out how to share a link to retrieve it in

link. So how does one do this task with Dropbox? Any help would be appreciated.

Still Having VoiceOver Dropouts

2015-01-30 Thread Austin Seraphin
Hi everyone. I just upgraded to 10.10.2. I also notice better performance, and
it behaves like the most recent beta as stated. Very good!

I still have annoying VoiceOver audio dropouts however. This started when I
upgraded to Yosemite. Last weekend I wiped my drive and installed 10.10.1 then
upgraded to the latest beta at the time. I still had the audio issues on a
completely fresh system. I migrated everything over and continued. At least the
sluggishness has gone away. I just wish I could fix these dropouts. I have a
mid 2010 iMac.

App store having issues?

2016-03-07 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Hello.

Is anyone noticing that effective 6:43 eastern US time, the mac OSX ap store
isn't loading? I bring the app store up from the Apple menu, but the html area
doesn't load. I tried also performing an app search from the toolbar, but
that's not working either.

Yes, the mac is definitely online, and yes, I did try deleting the PList file
associated with the app store, as sometimes that helps, but not in this case.
I've rebooted my router, which did no good, and I've also rebooted the mac
which did no good. The only thing I've not yet tried, which I'm about to is to
power cycle my modem.

Anyway, is anyone else who may be up early experiencing this?

Chris.

Re: Having trouble selecting text

2011-06-29 Thread Teresa Cochran
Hi, Shannon,

Command-shift-up-and-down-arrows select to the beginning and end of text. If
you want to select line by line, use shift-up-and-down-arrows instead. When
selecting files in a list, turn off cursor tracking with shift-VO-f3, navigate
to each file with VO-arrows, and use VO-command-space to select them. Turn on
cursor tracking again, once you've copied the files.

still having difficulties with dates

2010-03-18 Thread Christina
I apologize for writing again about this issue. Is I am very frustrated trying
to enter dates into address book for birth dates and anniversaries.

Is this not really accessible, or do I have a voiceover setting set up in a way
that is causing so much distress?

I'll try to explain the issues. I can interact with the date field. I seem to
be able to vo left and right arrow between month/day/year. Then I have tried
typing in the info or using vo plus up and down arrows. Typing does not seem
to work as according to a sighted person there is a text cursor that is not
moving with the vo cursor. I do have vo set up so that it should be following
the vo cursor but it won't follow. I can move that cursor without using the vo
keys and using just the right and left arrows. However, there is no audio
feedback at all and I do not know where it is but if I type where that cursor
is then it will type in that spot. So, if I use vo plus up and down arrows to
change the month/day/year then it will move it up once and announce December no
matter what month is actually entered then the next time I use vo plus up arrow
vo completely jumps out of the date field. It is incredibly frustrating.

Is address book actually not accessible and should I use something else? Or am
i just not aware of the proper way to get this to work? I also forgot to
mention that I often have the need to alt plus tab to another program then alt
plus shift tab back to address book to get vo to interact properly for a short
bit with the date field.

Thanks so much for any help or advice and I apologize for the lengthy e-mail.

Christina

Re: Still having dropbox issues

2011-11-26 Thread Dan Eickmeier
Hi, This menu bar icon that he's referring to, is on the status menu where
you have your wifi status, the clock, your bluetooth status, etc. A lot of
apps will put status icons up there. Unfortunately, we do not have access to
those which are put there by third-party developers with VoiceOver. We sort
of had access in previous versions of Mac OS X, but even that, wasn't proper
keyboard access like we should have. We had to route the mouse, to the
VoiceOver cursor, and then use the physical mouse, or the trackpad, constantly
checking where the mouse was with the VO keystroke to do that. With the
release of Lion, that access that we did have, via that workaround,
unfortunately has broke. For some reason, from what i've heard, developers
can't even expose their menu bar icons to VoiceOver, so that we can have
access to them, , as that is an API which Apple does not make available to
developers. Why they never did make it available in the first place, , is
beyond me. As I have done, I'd encourage you to write to Apple accessibility,
to let them know about this issue. If we could have access to these
third-party menu bar icons, that would take away barriers that we currently
have, with the lack of access that we have to them now. .

Dear all,

Anyone out there having bluetooth issues?

I use the following bluetooth earphones.

The Jabra Boost and the Voyager Edge from Pentronics

The pairing has no issue at all. In fact, it pairs rather quickly. However,
the issues are:

1.During a call, the earphone can automatically get disconnected.

2. at times, the phone is connected (assistance from sighted person)
however, no sound comes from either the speaker nor the earphone.

3.There are times that voiceover will breakup.

Tried turning on and off the phone,
Tried removing and repairing,
tried resetting all network settings,
tried turning on and off airplainmode,

I did not experience all these with earlier IOS versions.

Would appreciate some info from members here.

Re: Having Trouble With Dropbox

2014-10-02 Thread Ray Foret Jr
Easy peasy. Just do the following.

1. Forget the public folder. That's not the way to do it anymore. You want
to put the file in the main Drop Box folder.

2. Now, open the short cut menu after focusing on the file.

3. Now, from that menu, choose "share file". What will occur then is that
Drop box will create a link to a page from which the person can click and
download the file. This link is placed by Drop box on your clip board you
don't need to do anything beyond that.

4. Now, in a new and regular e-mail message, just press Cmd+v to paste this
link in to the body of the message. IF you wish, you can take the step of
making a tinyurl out of the original link.

When you say "shortcut menu", do you mean VO+Shift+M? When I do that, all I see

Re: Still Having VoiceOver Dropouts

2015-02-02 Thread Mary Otten
I am also having voiceover dropouts on my Mac running 10.10.2. When I first
upgraded to Yosemite, I did not have these problems.
Then, my drive had a problem, for which it had to go back and get reformatted
and have the whole system reinstalled. I am running a fusion Drive, and the
technician said that the initial set up of my fusion drive by the factory had
been wrong. But I never had any problems until the whole thing died.
Now, since I got the Mac back, with the newly installed system, I have the
problem. And it persisted after the upgrade. Also, I notice I am hearing the
hard drive a lot more. With the old "wrong" set up, I almost never heard the
hard drive. I assumed that was because I have the SSD part of the fusion thing.
I am disgusted with Apple. And I am disgusted with how this whole thing is
going. It worked great when it was set up wrong, That is, until it just died.
Now, the dropouts make using my mac not very much fun at all.

2015-02-04 Thread Austin Seraphin
I feel the same way, I can’t use my Mac like this. I have a standard drive
however. Now you have me curious. As i said I wiped everything and started from
scratch, and the problem happened immediately after a clean install. Let’s keep
digging, I need to find a solution. Either that or scrap everything and go back
to Mavericks and restore everything manually, which does NOT sound fun.

Yes, the mac is definitely online, and yes, I did try deleting the PList

Actually, that's not helping. It's not a matter of the app not getting
focus, it's a matter of the html area not loading with its content. I just
tried again, and I still can't get the main page to load which comes up by
default when the app is launched. I presume this is the featured tab. This
said, search results are working correctly unlike before, so, yeah... who

when i correct the time and click save voiceover freezes for several
minutes and eventualy works again. i'm not sure how exactly i get it
to work but i do the usual things, e.g. command f5.
whenever i restart my computer or turn it off for any reason the time
resets to being an hour ahead. this keeps occuring.
does anyone have any idea how i can stop this from happening?
thanks

Re: still having difficulties with dates

2010-03-18 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Christina,

OK, I misunderstood your question and assumed that, when you were speaking of
birthday fields, you were speaking about iCal. I now understand that you're
referring to Address Book instead.

OK, this is a complicated explanation. I'll try to make it as clear as I can.
Sit back and enjoy the bumpy ride…

Address Book definitely has a bug in that VoiceOver often doesn't echo typing
and deletion of characters within a field. One has to type without feedback and
move away and back to double check the input.

When editing a birthday field, first, make sure you're actually editing the
card rather than browsing the contact's scroll area and simply interacting with
the card's information. Again, I must stress the difference. Command'l is the
shortcut for editing a card.

Now, assuming you've already added the birthday field, navigate to the field
and interact with it. Make a mental note of the month. If I'm not mistaken, by
default, the active field will be the month and the date will say December 31,
2000. In this case, use only your up or down arrow key to change the value. The
up arrow will move the month forward like from december to January and the down
arrow will move it back like from December to November, for example. Now,
remember, you probably won't get any feedback. You'll probably hear the year
but don't assume that the active keyboard focus is on the year field.

When you've changed the month to what you think is correct, use only the right
arrow key to go to the day field and then use only the up or down key to set
the day. Repeat this for the year as well. Alternatively, you can try simply
typing the value and not use the arrow keys. Sometimes that seems to work well
but you might find yourself typing the wrong thing in the wrong field.

To check your entry, don't stop interacting or that will throw you out of the
scroll area. Instead, simply use Control-Option-left arrow to move left and
then use Control-Option-right arrow to read the date field.

Now, an important thing to remember is that, once you've interacted with the
date field and have changed values and subsequently used VO-left arrow to move
away and back to check the date, when you once again interact, you'll be on the
last field you edited and not necessarily the month field like you were in when
you first interacted at the outset. Does that make sense?

In other words, you interacted the first time and the focus was on the month.
You used the arrow keys to set the month, the right arrow key to move to day,
the up and down arrows (or just typing) to set the day, right arrow to move to
the year and set the year with what ever method you chose. Then you pressed
VO-left arrow to move away and then VO-right arrow to move back. Let's say you
needed to adjust the day field. When you again interact with the date field
you'll be on the year because that's where you were the last time you
interacted and that's where the keyboard focus is. So you now have to use the
left arrow key to move back to the day field. Hopefully that explains the
initial concept.

Now, if you use other keys to navigate, like Tab, all bets are off on its
behavior. I'd assume that if you actually tabbed to an edit field, VoiceOver's
keyboard focus would leave the date field and upon tabbing back to it, the
month would be the first focused field. Anyway, that's an assumption, I already
stated.

So, long story, it's not really easily accessible and it sounds complicated
but, once you're used to the process, it's certainly doable.

Hopefully that helps.

Thanks so very much. That is a lot of work. :) VO keeps pushing me out of
the date field while I'm using the vo plus up or down arrows to change the
values. I appreciate your explanation and I'm relieved to know I don't seem to
be doing anything "wrong". It's just a lot of work. I will play with it more
after absorbing the info you just sent me in this e-mail. I have not tried
tab. H.

Christina,

Remember, in Address Book, don't use Control-Option-up or down arrow. That's
only for iCal. Again, in Address Book, just use the up and down arrow keys by
themselves once you've interacted. Follow the instructions carefully.

Thanks so much. I got it to work now thanks to you. If I don't use the vo
keys, per your instructions, to change the date, then it works great. While in
the month field I get zero feedback but while in the day or year areas I do get
feedback from voiceover. That is much more workable then the way I was trying
to do this before your help. Thanks. That makes life s much easier.

be reported as a bug to Apple.
What would be the best way to reach this to Apple?

having some really weird network problems.

2010-12-11 Thread Oriol Gómez
Hi all,
I'm having some very very weird network issues.
I use a router with dhcp enabled and I have my windows box configured
to connect to it.
As soon as I connect my mac to the same wireless, internet dies on my
windows box in a way that I am able to use my open connections but I
can't open new ones such as creating websites etc.
If I disconnect the mac it stays the same way until I power cycle the router.
Has anyone else experienced this?
It seems very weird to me.

having issues downloading drop box files

2010-12-19 Thread Ray Foret Jr
Hi,

A friend sent me four drop box files via public links. Problem is I could only
download one of them. I interacted with the message text and focused on the
link. then, I opened the short cut menu. From there, I chose "download linked
file". this only worked for one. It would not work for any other. I noticed
that the links are broken up in to two lines. Any way to deal with this?

Having a bit of folder confusion

2011-09-18 Thread Bill Holton
Hi.

I have two drives inside my Mini, which I have named Mac HD for the system
volume and Mac Data for my datavolume. The way the computer came, the home
folder is located in the Mac Data drive volume, with the usual tree: users,
Bill, desktop, documents, downloads, music, etc. But on the Mac HD system
folder these folders also exist, users, bill, desktop, etc., and I don't
think they are aliases because the data in my home folders is not also
mirrored in these folders.

Are these system volume directories some sort of unused copies? Thanks.

Having a small issue with Voxer

2012-11-18 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Does anyone know with the Voxer ap for the IPhone how to clear messages out
of your chat list? I used to could symply double tap on the message, then
double tap in the upper right corner of the screen to open the chat settings
for that conversation, then in there could find delete chat. Now, the only
things I see are to block, which I obviously don't wanna do, I can mark all
as read, or can delete all messages within the individual chat. With the
latest update, I'm not finding any way at all to actually delete the whole
chat entirely after I either compose it, or after someone else voxers me.
It's kind of aggervating, as I have a lot of people who's chat I've gotten
opened over time, seeing that I'm a huge Voxer fan.

Yeah I’ve had this similar happen with my iPhone 6splus and the voyager edge

Subject: Iphone 6+ having bluetooth issues

Dear all,

Anyone out there having bluetooth issues?

I use the following bluetooth earphones.

The Jabra Boost and the Voyager Edge from Pentronics

The pairing has no issue at all. In fact, it pairs rather quickly. However, the
issues are:

1.During a call, the earphone can automatically get disconnected.

2. at times, the phone is connected (assistance from sighted person) however,
no sound comes from either the speaker nor the earphone.

3.There are times that voiceover will breakup.

Tried turning on and off the phone,
Tried removing and repairing,
tried resetting all network settings,
tried turning on and off airplainmode,

I did not experience all these with earlier IOS versions.

Would appreciate some info from members here.

Thanks in advance

Moses Choo.

It has to do with the automatic settings. Go to settings, phone, and set
default to bluetooth to force the phone call to the earpiece whenever it is

Re: Iphone 6+ having bluetooth issues

2016-06-29 Thread Scott Granados
Hi, so on the 6s+ I have only experienced #1, disconnection, mainly of the
hands free profile and it seems related to the proximity censor.

I also with the voyager edge and legend would have the last played media start
when a call would disconnect.

These seem much better in the most recent public beta.

Re: Iphone 6+ having bluetooth issues

2016-06-29 Thread David Chittenden
I am extremely embarrassed to say, I went from memory and did not remember
correctly.

The correct location for routing the call is: settings, general, accessibility,
call routing. The choices are: automatic, earpiece, speakerphone, and handset.
The nice thing about automatic is it remembers for each headset separately. The
problem is that it defaults to speaker or handset during the first use of a new
headset, and getting audio to route properly can be a little fiddly. Also,
answering the call by pressing the headset button usually routes to the
headset, whilst pressing the answer button on the phone routes to the handset.

It has to do with the automatic settings. Go to settings, phone, and set
default to bluetooth to force the phone call to the earpiece whenever it is
connected.

having issues adding short cut key

2015-12-28 Thread Raymond Foret Jr
When I try to add a short cut for Add Sender to Contacts, it doesn't seem to
work. Here's what I'm doing.

1. Go in to Mail menus and examine how "Add Sender to Contacts" is written
exatly.

2. Open System preferences.

3. Click on Keyboard and then click on Short cuts.
4. Go down to the apps short cuts table item.

5. Click add.

6. Now, choose the mail app.

8. Next, I type in "Add Sender to Contacts" without the quotes and exactly as
shown.

9. Now, I VO+right to where I press the key combination I want to use, say for
example Shift+Command+a.
10. Next, I click add. No matter what, though, I can't seem to check it.

Any advice?

Anyone else having issues with Netflix?

2016-10-14 Thread Donna Goodin
Hi all,

So I thought Netflix recently lost a lawsuit and is supposed to be becoming
more accessible?

I keep having problems accessing it from my Apple TV. When I click on either
my husband's or my profile, I'm taken to the Popular on Netflix screen, and
there doesn't seem to be any way to access the recently viewed shows in that
profile. Is anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know of a solution?
TIA,
Donna

having trouble installing High Sierra beta

2017-07-02 Thread Scott Berry
Hello there,

Has anyone has trouble installing the High Sierra Beta? I get an error that
says that the restore server has problems and can’t be accessed. Is there any
suggestions on how to get around this. In case the suggestion is to report
this I already did in the Sierra beta since it was an upgrade issue.

Having trouble accessing voiceover users guide

2017-09-30 Thread Robert Hill
Hi all,

I updated to High Sierra on Tuesday.

I am having trouble accessing the VoiceOver User guide using the VoiceOver
help menu.

I can get to the web site, but am unable to read the guide.
I can find a button to browse the table of contents, but nothing seems to
happen when I press VO-space to activate the button.

Is anyone else having issues with this, or am I just having a senior
moment/hour, or what?

Thanks for any any assistance.

Bob Hill

Anyone Having a Problem with Nightowl?

2023-01-14 Thread Brandon Olivares
For the last two days, any time I open NightOwl, it asks me to reauthenticate
Twitter. Which is fine, but the page to do so doesn’t actually load, and it
constantly plays the error sound again and again and again. I’m unable to do
anything else.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: having issues with time and voiceover

2010-06-10 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Liam,

It sounds as though your time zone is set incorrectly in System Preferences.

Go to the Date and Time pane in System Preferences, and select the second tab,
Time Zone. If you navigate right, you'll find a combo box in which you can
enter your nearest city. I'm sure London would work just fine.

Cheers,

Anne

automatically having incoming messages read i nIChat

2010-06-17 Thread Mary Otten
There has been some talk about IM clients lately and I thought folks might be
interested in something I just learned about yesterday on another Mac-related
list. You can get your incoming IChat messages read out to you by opening the
Ichat preferences (command comma when in Ichat. There is an events pop up
button which you activate with the space bar and then arrow down the list of
events until you hear message received and press enter. There is a series of
choices found by vo right arrowing. One of those options, the last one in the
group is speak an announcement. that's a misleading label, because what this
actually does is to read the incoming message. check that check box and your
incoming messages will be read automatically. You can apparently adjust the
speed of the reading by the system preferences, speech area, but I haven't
looked for that yet so can't report. By default, at least on my system, the
voice used was Alex, but the speech rate was really slow. Since I have had the
problem with VO crashing in the Ichat html area, I was very glad to hear about
this method of hearing incoming messages. there appears to be a lot of
customization that you can do in Ichat. there are several events in that events
pop up menu, and you dcan assign sounds to them or speak announcements etc.
Hope that helps somebody.

Re: a voice over issue I'm having

2010-03-24 Thread Nicolai Svendsen
Hi,

I've seen VoiceOver crash as well if you're typing extremely fast on the
keyboard, switching back and forth. If you end up doing something just a bit
too fast, it can crash too. It's really hard to describe and even harder to
introduce.

As to your own problem, I've seen it on webpages. I've already given Apple a
thorough explanation as to what is going on. You can, however, try hitting
VO-Command-F8 to start VoiceOver Quick Start. That sometimes gets it back up
and running.

Re: a voice over issue I'm having

2010-03-25 Thread Nicolai Svendsen
Hi,

Unfortunately, that seems to be the last resort. Of course, you usually don't
lose any data. Text Edit has autosave if you enable it, and every time I've
been busy writing an e-mail, I've been put right back at the point where it
crashed when I launch Mail after a reboot, cursor and all. And if that doesn't
happen, it goes to Drafts.

uninstalling safari 4 beta after having problems

2009-03-11 Thread Dean Adams
Hey All,
After installing safari 4 beta and trying it and found that
it caused all sorts of problems in webpages and mail I have had to
uninstall safari 4 beta and return it back to version 3 and all is
back to normal now I am using a Powerbook G4 with 768mb of ram and
soon to update the memory to 1.2GB of ram after searching to net and
using dave's webpage suggestion I have come across maxfixit.com.au
and they have a great rang of upgrades from hard drives to memory. I
am using an external usb dvd burner which is a lg usb dvd burner,
still getting used to Vo and the way the mac works but getting there gradually.

Sounds almost like duplicate Ip issues, which should not happen if you
are using DHCP. Try reissueing your lease. Also, do you use NAT on your
router?

Subject: having some really weird network problems.
Hi all,
I'm having some very very weird network issues.

Re: having some really weird network problems.

2010-12-11 Thread Ben Mustill-Rose
If it's not a dhcp issue like jon suggested, could it be that one
device is 11g and the other is 11n? You can get weird issues when some
routers try and do boh standards at once, the solution being to switch
to g only.

Re: having some really weird network problems.

2010-12-11 Thread Oriol Gómez
well funny thign is my computer is connecting through cable which
shouldnt have problems. it seems as though my mac is killing the
router and I don't think I'm having ip issues. I tried switching to
using dhcp with manual address and put a new IP in, but I can't close
that dialog and I'm kinda stuck.

Re: having some really weird network problems.

2010-12-11 Thread Ben Mustill-Rose
The non closing dialog really does make it sound like a ip issue. I
don't know the mac command, but I'd try an ipconfig /release then an
ipconfig /renew on both computers.
Failing that, make sure that both devices are set to use dhcp, clear
any reservations on the router side, reset the router and see what
happens.

Re: having issues downloading drop box files

2010-12-21 Thread Esther

Hi Ray,

I don't understand the source of this problem, but in general, if you copy a link to the
Safari or Web Kit address bar, by using Command-C, navigate to the address bar with
Command-L, then paste with Command-V, and highlight the address again with Command-L, you
can press Return and the linked entry should download.  The step of highlighting the link
(final Command-L), makes the action of pressing "Return" act like pressing
Option+Return on a link to force downloading.  This is why, if you activated a link and
started playing an mp3 file you meant to download, or else displayed a PDF in your
browser that you meant to download, simply using Command-L, and pressing return will
force the file in the Safari plug-in to download -- you highlighted the file with the
Command-L.

HTH.  Obviously if there are problems with broken links as the source of your
download problems this won't fix them.

Cheers,

Esther

Having trouble sharing a link on FB

2011-01-01 Thread Kevin Gibbs
Guys,
This is my first post on my new Mac Mini. I'm actually doing okay.
One problem I'm having is the inability to share videos that I find on
other people's walls and which I want to post to my own profile. I
choose the share button and I can see the dialog that comes up.
Unfortunately, the only way I can hit the Share button in that dialog
is to turn Voiceover off and use my vision to move the mouse to the
share button and tap on my Magic Trackpad. Clearly, that's not the
way to do this. Also, I can't figure out how to put a comment in the
comment box that is in the share dialog that comes up when I hit the
share button associated with the video I wish to add to my own wall.
Can anyone guide me through the process?

As far as I know the users folder only exists in one place and they is
usually on the drive with the OS you booted from. So it sounds like you
have two copies but one of them is probably not being used.

Are these system volume directories some sort of unused copies? Thanks.

Having Voiceover speak on Yosemite login screen

Can I change this somewhere?

Thanks,

copying to? several times I’ve thought I picked up a file and when I went to
drop it in the other drive, nothing copied.it seems to copy
from the hard drive to the Mac but not the other way around.

I tried to open up a new finder window but it opens on top of my other window
and I can’t navigate init or, using it.

Thanks.
Lorie

Having voiceover speak selected text in iOS

2015-12-30 Thread Phil Halton
Is there a command I can use to have voiceover speak whatever text happens to
be selected? I'm working in the notes app and would like to be able to hear
what text is actually selected.

Having trouble reading a document with VO

2016-01-17 Thread denise avant
Hello all,
I have some rather lengthy documents to review. I’m using text edit to read
these documents.
So, if I am on page 3 of a document, and want to do a read from the cursor to
the end of the document, rather than starting where I have arrowed to, VO
starts reading several paragraphs back when I do VO-a.
Initially, I thought this was an MS Word issue. But even when I switch to text
edit, the problem persists.
Has anyone seen this issue? thanks.
Is there a work around.

Re: Anyone else having issues with Netflix?

2016-10-15 Thread Scott Granados
Donna, I think Netflix is more interested in making payroll at this point.:)
They are in a very tight position right now. They have to pay for creating
their own content and are competing with Amazon who has enough spare money in
their couch cushions to burry netflix. For example, they (Netflix) just paid
Chris Rock 40 million for 3 hours of programming. I have also heard they have
cut their catalog in half in recent days. I’m not saying they will go under
tomorrow but they aren’t the high fliers they were a short time ago.
Unfortunately, accessibility usually takes a back seat when they are more
concerned with things like keeping the lights on.
