MD: TOC Cloning on JB940
I just recently received a new Sony JB940. Does anyone happen to know if TOC cloning is possible with this unit? I have a disc I've been sitting on for a while that I accidentally deleted a live track from, and I'm hoping to be able to resurrect it. RE: MD: the best soundcard for MD? Opinions needed!
Hello List! What is in your opinion the best soundcard to record from through optical out onto MD? I mean sound quality first then other benefits. Thank s 4 your interest! I like my Zoltrix Nightingale Pro 6. I bought it for $60 including shipping and it comes with a really long optical cord. Digital/Optical in/out. The only problem it's got is that it can't track-mark automatically which I suspect is a problem all soundcards have. But I use winamp and downloaded the MD recording plugin that puts in a 3 second pause between tracks. Set up your playlist and hit record. Works perfectly. Keep in mind that price was a factor with me. I'm sure a card that costs 3 times as much will probably be better. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MD: . digital cd-rom to soundcard cable
Hello MD people, I've been trying to find a cable so I can feed audio from my CD-Rom to my new soundcard digitally. The PC came with the analog CD-Rom to soundcard cable, but no digital because the original sound output device didn't have digital out. I've gone to two CompUSA stores in the area and neither have the digital cable. This is not an optical cable. It's a small cable that goes from the back of the CD-Rom to a thing on the soundcard. It looks similar to the analog CD-Soundcard cable but it's smaller. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Any idea where I can order one? //future-shock/ http://www.wam.umd.edu/~payvand [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: the best soundcard for MD? Opinions needed!
if you have usb the DG-2 works well and I believe that they fixed the track mark problem w/ non sony MD-R's. The sound quality from any USB audio device should be about as perfect as possible since the conversion happens at the device and the device in this case only converts from USB format to S/PDIF format, pure digital quality in this case. just my .02USD as i have done no actual scientific testing. marc - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: TOC Cloning on JB940
Ed Heckman asked, | I just recently received a new Sony JB940. Does anyone happen to know if TOC | cloning is possible with this unit? It most certainly is. I use my JB940 for all the cloning I do (recoveries for other people and, well, stuff for myself). The instructions for the JE520 work identically on the JB940. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: recent addition to the world of MD
Hi Matt, Welcome to the club. I own a MZ-R750 (same machine but with a radio) and I'm very happy with it. I mainly use it when I'm on the train and sometimes make a recording of an old LP using the stereo of someone else. Or I just plug it in to the amplifier at a friend and copy a CD there. It's quite easy to use and the sound quality is great. I haven't used the MDLP mode yet, because then my MD's won't be compatible with the combo-deck in my stereo, which doesn't have MDLP. I don't do any titling (I just write the names of the tracks on the cards, just like the old cassette days). I really would recommend bying another set of earphones straight away. Especially on public transport, the ambient noises are not filtered at all and the earphones hurt like hell after about an hour. There have been quite a few discussions about earphones in this list, but I'm very happy with my Sony MDR-EX70LP. The ambient noise is diminished in a very significant way and they are very comfortable (the silicone earplugs come in 3 sizes). Good luck with your new machine. Re: MD: recent addition to the world of MD
thanks mark. yes, my R700 arrived this past friday and i haven't been able to put it down since. i compiled nearly 5 hours of some comedy albums i have onto one MD in LP4 mode. even though LP4 is only good for such applications, it works perfectly. i am very happy with what i have chosen as a stepping stone into the MD arena. my next step is to replace these worthless headphones. i have my eye on the sony ones you mentioned, the EX70LPs. i noticed etronics.com has them for $39. -matt - Original Message - From: Mark Ligtenstein [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, September 09, 2001 7:27 PM Subject: Re: MD: recent addition to the world of MD I really would recommend bying another set of earphones straight away.
