I was fueling up my 300TD Turbo wagon today and there was a guy in an 2012 ML 350 BlueTEC. He said he loved it. Gets between 22 and 32 miles per gallon, and has had little to deal with in terms of the ammonia canister. Then again, he goes to the dealer for service. Anybody know anything about these? It seems like a logical replacement for my 300td wagon, if I can afford it. The guy claims that Mercedes stopped exporting them to the US a couple years ago. At $15 I think you should take the chance. When these first came out, they were a lot more expensive. I see the reviews indicate people are using them on 100 foot 12/3 cables. I don't know how well that would work but they should not have a problem with lighter cords like one might use to run a weed eater etc. I actually have one of these things but have never used it. My garage lacks a suitable spot to hang it. I really should make a spot for it. It does seem to be fairly well built - but- mine is several years old and they could have changed the quality in the interim. Yeah I saw that. Stuff just puffs up out of the ground. I'm surprised there was not a lot of sulphurous stuff along with it to warn people off from the areas. I went to Volcán Villarrica some years ago, climbed up to the top and around the caldera. It was sorta fuming away down in the caldera, when the wind was blowing it our way it was most foul, the devil's breath. There is a ski run that starts at the top, a chair lift that will take people up in the winter, we hiked up. We got to slide back down on the snow on our asses with an ice pick to slow us down, it was tons of fun, lot easier getting down than up! He tried to load the truck with the weight distributed the same way; centered just ahead of the back axle. He wouldn't let customers put the CG of the load any closer to the front axle because he said it would tear up the front end and could blow out the bias ply tires of that era if the truck was loaded heavy on the front axle. Is this one of those with airmatic that cost a fortune to replace when (not if) they fail? I had looked at some of these R class and was scared off by possible maintenance costs. Also, allegedly computer location makes them prone to water damage and expensive failure. Any real-world experiences with these issues? What’s it doing? They’re easy to replace. Pull off the wood around the shifter, then the ash try. Cd changer comes out with two t20 screws. Then you have to turn the t20 screws that run from bottom to top along the edges of the screen... this slides bars which holds the head unit in place. But keep in mind if you’re seeing just a MB star and then it goes away, it’s because the MOST ring is down. The head unit could be fine, any other component could be bad. I think is is more than an 8 hour shift. There may even be another fellow who actually drives the tanker to fetch fuel. The cost for downtime on the pumps runs to multi millions per second according to #1 boy. It is his buddy who has this responsibility. Eight hours a day? You're dreaming. I've got a client who drives tankers in ND for more money than was mentioned earlier. Maybe I'll ask him how many hours he works in a year. Also have a few guys who drive local for $60-100k per year, sleep in their own beds every night. One of the guys who's closer to 100k was complaining about his overtime last time I talked to him, wants his employer to hire more guys and spread the workload around.
