Again, Mom needs to get on board. Internet access is a serious carrot to dangle - I used my router like a “treat jar” when my kids were that age. "Oh, you want to play Call of Dooty? Access denied until your chores are done.” Amazing how quickly things can get done when one is motivated. Granted, your absence doesn’t make this easier, but in reality it’s all the more important since it shifts even more onto Mom when you’re gone. Dad’s on the road, so step up and help out. Floyd and I are speaking from years of experience and can vouch for the outcome. It’s a positive one, despite what a pain in the butt it can be on the front end. -D > On May 29, 2022, at 6:04 PM, Floyd Thursby via Mercedes > wrote: > > Stop feeding him until he starts doing his chores. I then decided I would mow the next day. Well overnight it stormed and could not mow. By the time it was time to leave for the cruise, it had rained a couple more times and was too wet to mow. I just got home and basically the house looks abandoned the grass is so high. I planned on mowing this afternoon or tomorrow but appears it must have stormed this week and water is standing again in those spots. I doubt it will be dried out enough by tomorrow then I will be back on the road Tuesday. Maybe next weekend! I say all that to say this. Had a box on the porch, it was a new work laptop. I just got home and basically the house looks abandoned the grass is so high. I planned on mowing this afternoon or tomorrow but appears it must have stormed this week and water is standing again in those spots. Suggestion: Mow around the flood spots, and leave them for when you can catch them dried out. Make something with an "artistic shape" so the high veggies look "intentional". Then, when you get a few minutes and they are dry enough to mow, whack'em. [MBZ] Just got home from my cruise
So far this year I have literally only been able to mow once. I have several large spots that after it rains a lot water will stand and it has to dry out for anywhere from 3-5 days before I can mow. Since I travel a lot for work if I miss the window of opportunity I have to wait to mow. About 2 weeks ago on a Saturday i was going to mow after I got done working on cars. It was dry. It has been sitting out there all week. Surprised it didn’t get stolen since the house looks abandoned.
