I agree with Kaleb, you’re all over thinking this. Just crank with your foot half on the accelerator until it starts. If your battery or starter dies doing this, it was already going to fail. When I changed the filter in my SD, I did it with the engine warm. It immediately restarted with the new/empty filter and the idle knob cranked all the way up. When it stumbled, I gave it more throttle, and it didn't die. Then it cleared up and ran evenly on all five cylinders again. I don't know if that's at all hard on the fuel system, but it was easy on the mechanic. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] W124 603 Post Fuel Filter Change
Perhaps it does not need to actually be installed on the vehicle. When you do a filter change, just pop the supply line off and hook to this, then have a short section of hose to hook the other end up to car then just connect to power, bleed system. When finished, just remove it and reinstall supply line. I think I like that idea. Yeah, you’re not alone. I remember my first one and how much I had to crank on that beast (probably in excess of two minutes, total) before it began to fire.
