[onap-tsc] [modeling] new proposal to change TSC report consensus slide wording

2018-07-18 Thread denghui (L)
Hello Modelers,

I have received comments from Andy and Andrei after the meeting about our
consensuses slide, as below, according to their proposal, 3 changes are listed
below:
1) Clarify On-Boarding and the Internal ONAP models are distinct
2) remove "align with R3 IM"
3) removing the statement "(backward compatible with onboarding model)

According to our recorded session
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/2018+2H+Modeling+sub-committee+meeting+agenda+and+minutes

I re-listen to the recorded session 20180717, I did ask any objection to the
final consensus in the end.
only Michela raised the comments to remove 3rd bullet. I did explain the
reason, and didn't hear any objection from Michela any more.

In this case, my judge would be from our session
3) is not yet a 100% consensuses assuming Michela not reponse in time, but 1)
and 2) are 2 new proposals to change the existing consensus

So I am asking the modeling subcommittee here whether you agree to add 1) and
remove 2)
If there is no any objection before TSC call, I will revise them as this
proposal.

Thanks a lot

DENG Hui

I tend to agree with Andy. What I captured from a meeting screen is quickly
adding sentences to a reporting slide by a chair because of lack of time.
There is obviously a room for making mistakes and inaccurate wording.

Denghui,

We appreciate that you captured some of the major points that were agreed to
during the Modeling Sub-committee call.

We do have a few questions that need clarification on the TSC readout:

  * How was the agreement captured that the VNF Descriptor model for
On-Boarding and the Internal ONAP models are distinct? We reached consensus on
this point multiple times during the Modeling Sub-committee call, but it is not
listed. Please reflect this important point.
  * During the call there did not seem to be clear consensus with the
statement "align with R3 IM". Based on the recording we all agreed that we need
keep the Information Modeling and Data Modeling aligned during the
collaborative work on the internal data model for R4 and beyond. However, since
it was not a clear agreement, please remove "align with R3 IM"
  * Please consider removing the statement "(backward compatible with
onboarding model)". Based on the recording, it wasn't clear during the call
that we had community consensus on this particular statement.

Best Regards,
Andy

Hello all,

Thanks Yang XU for clarifying about the state of Wan Connection.

To Michael, if we leverage the relationship types and capability
types which are already existed and remove the new ones which might be
duplicate and just leave the node types and data type introduced in wiki page
(https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Design-Time+Data+Model%3A+WAN+Service), is
it good enough for SDC to support Wan Connection in release 3?

Hi Hui and all,

Regarding the last bullet, AFAIK, the WAN connection has been agreed in
release 2 and moved from service IM clean page to resource IM clean page
according to participants' suggestion that the WAN connection should be
considered as resource.

 Best regards,

Dear ONAP OOM Committers,

I would like to nominate myself as Project Technical Lead (PTL) for the ONAP
Operations Manager (OOM) project.

I have been a very active member of the OOM project since its inception. Active
in both its architecture and as a top committer on the project. Over the last
year, I standardized the Helm chart template for the ONAP community and
delivered many of the Helm charts on behalf of the project teams. I also held a
number of workshops, education and debugging sessions with the project teams
and worked very closely with the integration team to help ensure the successful
delivery of ONAP on OOM in the Beijing release.

We have a fantastic team and a great community, with a lot of smart,
experienced and dedicated people. I’m really looking forward to working with
this team to deliver on Casablanca and beyond! And I would very much like to
do that as your PTL.

Thanks very much for your consideration,
Mike Elliott

Re: [onap-tsc] [ONAP Helpdesk #58470] Jira issues - again

2018-07-18 Thread TIMONEY, DAN
The slow downs I saw this morning happened in 2 specific cases :

1) I had done a search for issues by project/status/type/fix version to list
all the open Epics for SDNC in the Casablanca release and was trying to update
the epic name on one of the issues. It hung and eventually told me that the
system could not access that issue.

2) I had clicked the link to "add a comment" to an existing Jira I'd received
in email, and when I committed my change the system hung and again told me it
could not access that issue.

At that point I gave up.

Adding some notes from Ryan on his recent investigation:

-
Looking through the jira logs for this user (djtimoney), I find no evidence
of timeouts or other errors. sar says the system is not under any load at the
time of the problem. The jira logs show nothing particularly unusual in usage.
All the pages that I see the user visiting appear snappy for me. The project of
interest is SDNC-395 and the user is probably in the agile view.
Some swap is still being used, however, so I boosted the system ram from 8G
to 12G
I'm unsure that this will be a fix since I can't replicate the problem, but
it should help.

Thanks!

Jessica,

From the user point of view, the website appears to be hung and I get pop up
notifications saying request time out. I will capture a screen shot tomorrow am
when this happens again. Perhaps there are network issues and/or logs that can
reveal the problem.

Thanks,

[onap-tsc] [ONAP Helpdesk #58470] Jira issues - again

2018-07-18 Thread Jessica Wagantall via RT
Adding some notes from Ryan on his recent investigation:

-
Looking through the jira logs for this user (djtimoney), I find no evidence of
timeouts or other errors. sar says the system is not under any load at the time
of the problem. The jira logs show nothing particularly unusual in usage. All
the pages that I see the user visiting appear snappy for me. The project of
interest is SDNC-395 and the user is probably in the agile view.
Some swap is still being used, however, so I boosted the system ram from 8G to
12G
I'm unsure that this will be a fix since I can't replicate the problem, but it
should help.

-

Thanks!
Jess

Dear TSC and ONAP community,

It is my pleasure to announce the result of DCAE PTL election for year

confirmed unanimously by DCAE committers. The voting results can be viewed at:
https://civs.cs.cornell.edu/cgi-bin/results.pl?id=E_ec4107ec3679a17a.

Congratulations Vijay!

Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank the TSC and the ONAP community

Dear TSC,

Please consider the following two requests for committer promotion for the DACE

https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Committer+Promotion+Request+for+%5BDCAE%5D%3A+Przemyslaw+Wasala

[onap-tsc] Jira issues - again

2018-07-18 Thread TIMONEY, DAN
LF IT,

For the second consecutive week, I find myself unable to prepare for my weekly
SDNC project meeting because Jira freezing and not applying updates. I opened
a ticket on this last week as well (see attached). I will appreciate if you
can address this issue at your earliest convenience. It is frankly already too
late to help for this morning’s call, but it would be good if I can at least
follow up from my meeting with updates later today.

Thanks!
Dan

LF IT team,

I don’t know if this is related to last night’s maintenance, but Jira is very,
very slow this morning. If I do a search for issues, I see the list, but it’s
greyed out and I can’t click on any of the issues to update them.

Thanks,

Dan

Is there a tracking site on our wiki that shows which project/subcommittee has
