[otrs] pop3 problems
Hope someone can help with the following pop3 problems: When I started pop3 downloads using PostMasterPOP3.pl, I get the following error: Notice: PostMasterPOP3.pl is already running (use '-f 1' if you want to start it forced)! I tried the suggestions found on the maillist (-f option, delete from process_id), but nothing helped. When I use -f 1 it actually downloads the same message again thus creating a new ticket for the same email. But for that email I get another error too: Wide character in subroutine entry at (eval 81) line 1. Notice: PostMasterPOP3.pl is already running but is starting again! Anyone any hints on how to proceed? It's bug report 2100. If you want, you can also log on to the bug tracker and provide some additional information there. I'm seeing the same thing as you. The biggest problem with this for me is that I can't modify users. So I have to take extra care when I add users on so that I don't miss a field or need to change a setting. The same goes for queues. I can't modify any queues, they simply don't show up. -Jeff Manuel Ernst wrote: Hello, As this is my first post in this list, I shortly want to introduce myself. Re: AW: [otrs] Database replication
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi Thorsten, I suppose that every location has it's very own OTRS? You actually just need to share relevant tickets, e.g. those which have to be processed in another OTRS-instance, as well as successfully closed tickets and (maybe) FAQ-Entries. We built a quite similiar solution where we interfaced two OTRS-instances and implemented an OTRS-ticket process across multiple OTRS-instances. The first instance was used for entering and storing test protocols. The second instance was an established OTRS for 'common' ticket processing. The negative test protocols caused were transmitted and processed as trouble tickets in the second instance. For almost the similar reasons as mentioned by you (DMZ, firewalls, slow/unreliable connection) and due to the fact that there's no time aspect in transmitting those 'transfer-tickets' the systems where interfaced by encrypted, signed and structured emails. The interlink-protocol ensured that there were no losses. The solution worked quite well and we've plans to extend this solution to a more general and decentralized, non-master-slave approach. If this solution aroused your interest, please feel free to contact me. regards, Torsten Thau - -- Torsten Thau, Dipl. Inform. c.a.p.e. [otrs] Sort/search by update date not created date
We have been using OTRS for a couple of months and generally we are quite happy with it. One thing we seem to be missing is functionality with regard to the ticket update date, and so far I haven't found any relevant configuration parameters. Firstly: Many of our tickets take several emails before it is resolved, and to be fair we'd prefer to work through the queues based on the last updated date instead of the created date. Is there a way to get the queues to sort in ticket update order instead of creation date? Secondly: Quite often we like to search for tickets by the last update date, not by the creation date, but there is no field for this on the search page? Re: [otrs] Reject of closed tickets not properly working
Well, in effect in OTRS 2.1.7 the function works correctly, if I add the reject automatic response to the queue, the customer gets informed that the ticket has been rejected, and the ticket stays closed. I reported a bug for 2.1.7, cause I thought that a rejected message shouldn't be attached to the ticket, but now I understand that this is the expected behaviour. Anyway it's been useful all the same...seems it helped founding out a real bug in version 2.2 :) Bye Gabriele - Original Message - From: André Bauer [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: User questions and discussions about OTRS.org otrs@otrs.org Sent: Thursday, August 23, 2007 2:03 PM Subject: Re: [otrs] Reject of closed tickets not properly working Hi Laurent Minost, LM I can confirm this behaviour also, I've just got the same thing a few LM minutes ago to test if this setting was working correctly and how LM customer is told that his ticket has been rejected. RE: [otrs] Auto Close old tickets
We've been having discussions around the office here about clients-who-do-not-respond and what to do about it. Basically you've got some simple options out of the box which works in most cases. Pending-reminder .. notify the agent that the customer hasnt gotten back to us, and that perhaps they should phone them up (if its important to get a response). Pending-autoclose ... this is what you basically want. Set the pending-autoclose date to next week, and you're done. My only question is how to set the default autoclose date to 7-days-from-now. Close the ticket ... I tested this, and if you close the ticket, and the customer replies, it re-opens. Just close it and forget about it. My opinion is that if its good enough to forget-about-it 7 days from now, its good enough to forget-about-it-right-now, so let the ticket system deal with re-opening the ticket if the customer does actually respond within 7 days (or 7 months). Re: [otrs] Auto Close old tickets
All great options...however, I have the system setup so that if the ticket gets closed, it cannot be reopened by simply replying to it, this is for a number of reasons. Some customers start to change issues in the middle of a ticket or wait a few months and reply to the last email they got from us with the anticipation of it getting priority over sending in a new email. This eliminates that from happening and preventing customers from talking to only one person or to just the person they like talking to because it makes them feel better, for whatever reason. I do like the Pending Auto-Close option though...I'll set that as the default next state and make it add 7 days. Thanks for the idea...I never thought about that one. :) -Jeff Ron DeFulio wrote: We've been having discussions around the office here about clients-who-do-not-respond and what to do about it. Thanks :) -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeff Shepherd Sent: Friday, August 24, 2007 4:29 PM To: User questions and discussions about OTRS.org Subject: Re: [otrs] Auto Close old tickets All great options...however, I have the system setup so that if the ticket gets closed, it cannot be reopened by simply replying to it, this is for a number of reasons. Guten Tag Gabriele D'Andrea. Maybe it would be a good idea to close the bug report for 2.1.7 ;-) -- Mit freundlichen Grüssen André Bauer System: Debian 3.1 / Apache 2.0.54 / MySQL 4.0.24 / OTRS 2.0.4 Well, in effect in OTRS 2.1.7 the function works correctly, if I add the reject automatic response to the queue, the customer gets informed that the ticket has been rejected, and the ticket stays closed. I reported a bug for 2.1.7, cause I thought that a rejected message shouldn't be attached to the ticket, but now I understand that this is the expected behaviour.
