Re: [PacketFence-users] Node search is very slow from GUI on version 11.0.0

2021-12-09 Thread Jeremy Plumley via PacketFence-users
I think I had this same issue but got handled thru paid support. It had
something to do with my bandwidth accounting table growing to large. I could
truncate the table as a temp fix and it would run for about three days before
the issue would show up again. A fix was applied but don't know the details and
I'm presently waiting to see if the issue comes back again. So far so good.

[PacketFence-users] ArubaOS CX support

2020-02-27 Thread Jeremy Plumley via PacketFence-users
Not sure if I need to post this in the development forum but are you working on
support for ArubaOS CX switches? I'm demoing a set of switches and the CLI has
changed quite a bit. Even port configurations have went away from the
traditional tag and untag commands to vlan trunk and vlan access commands. I
would like to get these supported since Aruba is pushing these as their next
gen switch model. Thanks.

I'm attempting to setup a custom Admin Role in the webgui under Configuration |
System Configuration | Admin Access. I cloned Node Manager into a new Admin
Role called Desktop Node Mgmt. When I try to restrict the "Allowed node
options" to specific roles my Admin users are unable to register a node that
has "no role" selected. They show up as read only. My goal is to have two
groups, one that can approve for any role and one that has restrictions to a
handful of roles. Hope that makes more since.

Hello Jeremy,

do you have any documentation related to the support of the VoIP on the Aruba
switch ?

There is probably a vsa attribute to return when PacketFence detect that a
phone is plugged on a switch port.

If the vsa exist then it will be easy to add the VoIP support for the Aruba
switches.

Re: [PacketFence-users] Multiple endpoints behind a single switchport

2017-07-15 Thread Jeremy Plumley via PacketFence-users
I'm attempting this on Packetfence 7.2 on Cisco switches. Like Derek said I see
in Packetfence when you click on the node it can see that the switchport has
other active devices on the port. Appears the "authentication violation
replace" command that the Packetfence Network guide shows for multiple host
port config on Cisco only supports one mac address at a time on the access
vlan. If I have an unmanaged switch with two devices plugged into it with this
configuration I can watch the terminal flip back and forth between the two mac
addresses it sees on the port. If I have an active ping going on both devices,
I can see they are dropping packets each time this happens. Max did you get
this to work in your environment?

Hey Max,

That means, if per exemple you have a managed switch port with PacketFence
enforcement configured on it, and that you have a small unmanaged desktop
switch plugged into that managed switch port, then you can register /
unregister / apply a violation / close a violation / change the role of all the
devices plugged into that unmanaged desktop switch.

Managing a device from PacketFence that is plugged into that unmanaged desktop
switch will inform you that they are other devices with a locationlog opened on
the same managed switch port and that you can apply the action to all of the
devices or only on the one you are currently editing.

Does that helps ?

Cheers!

I've just tried that and it doesn't seem to function as expected. Perhaps
