RE: Tapin Radio Question Again
I just updated to the latest version to make sure this works. Tab to the Search Menu button and press space. Arrow down to the Genres choice and press Enter. this lands you in a vertical list of letters and numbers which are the first letters of genre names. Arrow up or press o for oldies, then press enter on it to activate it. shift+tab to the resulting list. I get 572 or so stations from all over the globe. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: Tuesday, November 14, 2017 9:08 PM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: Tapin Radio Question Again Hello listers: I have the latest version of Tapin Radio; am trying to figure out how the genres menu works! Hello Dean and list: Yes...this is what I am getting at (WHFC does not play because they are now running an HTML 5 link for their stream! I sent something to Tapin...but am not for sure if they have updated it in their new stations...something else that I seem to no longer know how to do (update the stations) this new version of Tapin, well, it just doesn't make sense to me! I don't like these settings; how do I go back and get alphabetical listing? Also, does Tunein radio have a software like Tapin Radio that I can install on my laptop? I would be most grateful for some help. With best wishes and thanks, Ketan
Re: tapin radio and witopia
Yes, I've had this sort of thing happen though not with Tapin Radio but with other radio station databases. I'm not exactly sure why it happens though my theory is that the database intry's for those stations are out of date so I have to either use another database source such as vTuner or Tunein Radio or - probably the best way - to go to the radio station directly and use the "Listen Now" link. Yes, in the installation process there was a box to check if one is a screen reader user. I'm still not getting it to work here and don't have a Twitter account to try contacting them. I will again try to do a WOIS search in an attempt to get a physical address for the sight owner and try to contact them that way. Re: tapin radio update
I suggest you uninstall it again, but then after uninstallation you go to the registry and look if you can find any key for tap in radio and delete the key with any subkeys it might contain. Then restart the pc and reinstall and restart again. Maybe something else is playing up here. Also, when you uninstalled your anti virus, did you do a complete uninstall? You should uninstall in safe moad for most packages to be able to remove all components. To only uninstall from control panel often leaves components behind. tapin radio update
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling antivirus software as suggested and I am still having the same problem receiving the error message that “Tapin Radio has failed to load presets.” It then gives me the option of trying to download from the web site. Upon trying to download from the web site I then receive an error message that Windows has stopped working and is checking for a solution. Re: Tapin Radio crashes when doing a search
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Tapin ?Radio on several occasions in an attempt to fix the problem and it didn't work. On one occasion I received an error message from Windows that the file couldn't be installed because it was corrupted. As a result I also tried downloading and installing using different browsers. I noticed that in doing a search there were versions available on other sites but those sites were trying to install ad ware and other programs as well. Thanks Chuck. I'm running the edition of TapinRadio for Windows 7 and still having the problem so it doesn't appear to be related to the operating system being used. I hope a solution is found soon! I have had the same problem over the past few weeks. I can't get it to play at all and can't browse stations in different genres. I am using the version for Windows 8.1. I also tried to contact them several times with no response and am not sure where they are based but I think its in Europe. Re: Tapin Radio crashes when doing a search
Hi Chris and all, Chris, thanks for your message. Unfortunately I don't have a solution to your problem but I'm having a similar problem with TapinRadio that started recently. Your message helped confirm the fact that I'm not the only one having this problem. For me though I now get similar messages to you when I try to go into the Stations menu. Tapinradio crashes for me when I do this and gives me the same message to what you get. I'm using ESET Smart Security as my virus checker and recently upgraded to version 8 of this program. I don't know if this is related to the TapinRadio problem or not though. Hoping anyone having this problem finds a solution eventually. Regards Steve. Revised Instructions For Scheduler In Tapin Radio
Hello list: I kind of put too many steps in the instructions to get to the scheduler in Tapin Radio (it actually is close to what I said) only you don't need to hit the "enter" key; if you do alt-A, this will bring up the menu that has "favorites" and other things) once this is in view, hitting the letter "S" will bring up the scheduler. My apologies for the screw-up; often, I do things without really thinking about how I'm doing it if it is something I do every day; I have to sort of go back and retrace my own steps, so to speak! Anyhow I hope these instructions are useful to the person who wanted to know where the scheduler in Tapin Radio is. Tom Kaufman
RE: Sheduled recording in Tapin radio
The easiest way to get to the scheduler in Tapin, using Jaws, would be to do the following: 1: with Tapin Radio open, do alt-A and hit "enter" 2: hit the letter S and enter; this should bring up your scheduler. Tapin Radio And WSM
Does anyone know why Tapin Radio no longer seems to play WSM? I know for a fact that the WSM audio stream still works! It played in Tapin until sometime late last night; now.it just does nothing when I click it! Also I have discovered that the search box in Tapin seems to not do anything! Any ideas as to what's going on? Is it something I could have inadvertently done to cause all of this? Tom Kaufman

Re: Tapin radio scheduler.
Sometimes restarting your screen reader would solve the problem, otherwise, a way to work around this is to Try to use your read current line command after each movement of the up and down arrows. Sometimes both screen readers act weird not reading whatever item that gains focus but if you read the current line, you might get what you want. Also, if that doesn't work, after you change selection with your up and down arrows, tab away from that comboBox and shift tab back to it. It might solve your problem as well. Hope that helps! scheduling a recording with tapin radio
got it on the machine and worked out how to enter the start time and duration. The documentation on how to schedule a recording seems to be a bit shakey for example can you manually enter a stream URL or does that have to be in the favorites? Also there is another combo box which simply says application 0 items what does it need to see at that point? Ray T. Mahorney WA4WGA
Tapin Radio Problem
Hi Listers: I have a Tapin Radio problem that I don't know quite what to do about: I am running the pro version of Tapin Radio; one of the nice perks is that you can schedule an event to record at a later time. So I usually like to record something from radio station WSM (the program comes on at eight o'clock (eastern time) I go through and tell it when I want to stop and so forth; the thing is, when I get to the "create task button, it tells me that the file exists! So I though "Okay.I'll go to "delete task button" no soap; it does nothing upon entering that! This has happened before; consequently, it doesn't record my event! So what is it I should do to get this thing to realize that I am scheduling a new event? Am running Windows 7 64 bit (home premium edition" the latest Jaws 15. Help greatly appreciated! I can record anything else with apparently no problem; just can't record WSM as it says "the file exists!" Tom Kaufman
This drives me nuts tapin radio scheduler.
Hi! One thing that makes me very irritated is that when i do a schedule in tapinradio i can't see the alternatives in the comboboxes where to set if tapin radio should record or start alarm. I can see the alarm alternative so i guess the second one is record. In the next combo box there's a lot of alternatives that should select what to do when stopping the recording. I have tried both jaws and nvda. None of them work. /A

Re: TapIn Radio
Hi, Thanks for your feedback. The advantages of paid PRO versions are: Automatic checking for database so you don't need to keep trying manually whether or not a new one has been released. TR will take care of everything for you. You can have all newly added stations displayed by clicking ctrl+n shortcut so you can compare the stations being new for the actual period of week. Advanced scheduling. More instances of TR on so you can for instance have one station playing and the other turned down recording etc. Wishlist available so you can define for example strings of song titles or artists or groups to be automatically recorded. Say you want to record all by Queen so you type queen (not case-sensitive) and when the actively playing station starts playing anything by Queen TR will record it on its own. You don't need to keep listening in sitting all day at the computer unpatiently waiting for your song to be played but just define the string and have it all recorded split into separate tracks. In the add-to-faves form you can have all songs that have been played written into the .txt file so you can have a great control over all songs they've recently played since you started listening to the appropriate station. That would be all in more details.
