Correction: after you choose your genre, you don't need to shirt+tab, you

I just updated to the latest version to make sure this works.

Tab to the Search Menu button and press space. Arrow down to the Genres
choice and press Enter. this lands you in a vertical list of letters and
numbers which are the first letters of genre names. Arrow up or press o for
oldies, then press enter on it to activate it. shift+tab to the resulting
list. I get 572 or so stations from all over the globe.

because they are now running an HTML 5 link for their stream! I sent
something to Tapin...but am not for sure if they have updated it in their
new stations...something else that I seem to no longer know how to do
(update the stations) this new version of Tapin, well, it just doesn't make
sense to me! For example, when I try to go to genres, well my logic just

I found WHFC but the station doesn't play. When the program opens, you are
in a search box. Type the search and shift+tab. In my brief test, two

Hi friends,

I have a Tapin Radio related questions: Earlier, all my favourites
were grouped alphabetically which is how I like them but I don't know
what happened now they have grouped themselves according to Genres. I
don't like these settings; how do I go back and get alphabetical
listing? Also, does Tunein radio have a software like Tapin Radio
that I can install on my laptop? I would be most grateful for some
help.

With best wishes and thanks,

Yes, I've had this sort of thing happen though not with Tapin Radio but
with other radio station databases.

I'm not exactly sure why it happens though my theory is that the
database intry's for those stations are out of date so I have to either
use another database source such as vTuner or Tunein Radio or - probably
the best way - to go to the radio station directly and use the "Listen
Now" link.

And finally, You're absolutely spot-on when you talk of the excellent

I know a lot of developers are turning to Twitter, they get instant
feedback from users of their product and can put out updates and news
very quickly, this is the only reason really I bother with a Twitter
account.

2014-11-16 Thread Dane Trethowan
Okay, been playing with this for the last few minutes and I make the
following observations.

Firstly I had to use the software with JAWS, couldn't get much out of it
with NVDA.

Second, it seems that the database hasn't been updated for some time, I
can of course only go on what I see in my country of Australia as that's
the only place I've looked thus far.

I estimate that the database is over 4 years old as there are many
stations which were boradcasting 4 years ago listed here.

Many of the stations referred to in Australia are not streaming now due
to royalty issues which still needed to be sorted in the Australian
courts so - if you hear nothing on a stream - then don't be surprised.

I guess that's the disadvantage of having an App like this use its own
database, you have to be pretty dedicated to keep that database up to date.

Perhaps the developer has good reasons for ding this, I don't know what
sort of fee the Vtuner database of Internet radio stations and Podcast
would charge any developer for access, I know that a lot of the products
I have here from Sangean, Denon, Yamaha and Pioneer use it for their
Internet Radio data but then again these company's have pockets filled
with cash compared to an individual software developer.

Apart from all that I was most impressed with the layout of the software
so I sincerely hope that we'll see more udpates to Tapin Radio in the
future.

adds a program specific keystroke, Nvda-control-t, to speak the stream.

Re: tapin radio update

I suggest you uninstall it again, but then after uninstallation you go
to the registry and look if you can find any key for tap in radio and
delete the key with any subkeys it might contain. Then restart the pc
and reinstall and restart again. Maybe something else is playing up
here. Also, when you uninstalled your anti virus, did you do a
complete uninstall? You should uninstall in safe moad for most
packages to be able to remove all components. To only uninstall from
control panel often leaves components behind.

2014-11-09 Thread Chris Skarstad

Hi again guys

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I do believe Eset may be
part of the issue, because when I downloaded a fresh copy of tapin radio
from the rummersoft website, Nod 32 flagged the setup file as some kind
of virus, which it wasn't. I would remove Nod 32 as a test but I don't
want to put myself at risk from viruses and other bad stuff out there.
Even after completely removing the software, I'm talking about even
removing the program and all associated registry entries, a re-install
of the software exhibits this same behavior. I've not been able to get
ahold of them. They're on Facebook, but they've asked people not to
send them private messages as they won't see them. so this is a tough
one. I'm guessing we'll just have to keep trying. Glad I'm not the
only one with the problem.

Hi Chris and all,

Chris, thanks for your message. Unfortunately I don't have a solution to
your problem but I'm having a similar problem with TapinRadio that
started recently. Your message helped confirm the fact that I'm not the
only one having this problem.

For me though I now get similar messages to you when I try to go into
the Stations menu. Tapinradio crashes for me when I do this and gives me
the same message to what you get. I'm using ESET Smart Security as my
virus checker and recently upgraded to version 8 of this program. I
don't know if this is related to the TapinRadio problem or not though.

Hoping anyone having this problem finds a solution eventually.

Regards Steve.

As the subject line says, as of this past week for whatever reason,
Tapin Radio has suddenly started to crash on me when performing a search

when I type a station's call letters, a dialogue suddenly appears and
says, Tapin radio failed to load presets, would you like to download
them from our website? there are yes, no, and cancel buttons. when I
press yes, a download button appears but when i press it, the program
crashes. When i answer no, another dialogue appears and says, couldn't
load presets, pre-mature end of document, with an ok button. I've tried
completely uninstalling and re-installing the program with both the free
and paid versions and it still exhibits this behavior. I've been using
Tapin for ages now and have never seen this. I wrote to the support
folks for Tapin Radio and haven't received any kind of response, so I
figured i'd ask here. The only major change I made lately is that I
installed a newer version of Nod 32 antivirus on my machine, so I wonder
if the 2 aren't fighting with each other? So if anyone knows if
there's a fix for this, I'd appreciate it. I miss using Tapin to listen

the problem seems to involve the downloads or installation of updated
station lists. The latest lists that I received in previous versions was
around 920 or there about. I think the latest one should be 927 or 928.
After reinstalling the program it says that I have list version 200 and
there are no menus that are shown under genres or networks. It appears as if
there are no lists of stations to browse or search.

Tapin Radio crashes when doing a search

2014-11-08 Thread Chris Skarstad

Hey guys

As the subject line says, as of this past week for whatever reason,
Tapin Radio has suddenly started to crash on me when performing a search
by typing something into the edit box on the main screen. For example,
when I type a station's call letters, a dialogue suddenly appears and
says, Tapin radio failed to load presets, would you like to download
them from our website? there are yes, no, and cancel buttons. when I
press yes, a download button appears but when i press it, the program
I miss using Tapin to listen
to internet radio!

Thanks!

Revised Instructions For Scheduler In Tapin Radio

2014-10-07 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hello list: I kind of put too many steps in the instructions to get to the
scheduler in Tapin Radio (it actually is close to what I said) only you
don't need to hit the enter key; if you do alt-A, this will bring up the
menu that has favorites and other things) once this is in view, hitting
the letter S will bring up the scheduler.  My apologies for the screw-up;
often, I do things without really thinking about how I'm doing it if it is
something I do every day; I have to sort of go back and retrace my own
steps, so to speak! Anyhow I hope these instructions are useful to the
person who wanted to know where the scheduler in Tapin Radio is.

Tapin Radio And WSM

2014-08-09 Thread Tom Kaufman
Does anyone know why Tapin Radio no longer seems to play WSM? I know for a
fact that the WSM audio stream still works! It played in Tapin until
sometime late last night; now.it just does nothing when I click it! Also I
have discovered that the search box in Tapin seems to not do anything! Any
ideas as to what's going on? Is it something I could have inadvertently
done to cause all of this?

Tapin radio scheduler.

2014-06-23 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I have problems with both jaws and nvda in the comboboxes in tapinradio
scheduler.
Its the combo that asks for what to do at a specific time.
The only item i can read is alarm.
The other two seems inaccessible to me.
Also the combobox which asks about stopping action is inacessible to me.
Its on windows 7 64 bit home premium.
Not sure why this is happening but its very frustrating.

Re: Tapin radio scheduler.

2014-06-23 Thread Hamid AITOUZNAG
Sometimes restarting your screen reader would solve the problem,
otherwise, a way to work around this is to Try to use your read current
line command after each movement of the up and down arrows. Sometimes
both screen readers act weird not reading whatever item that gains focus
but if you read the current line, you might get what you want. Also, if
that doesn't work, after you change selection with your up and down
arrows, tab away from that comboBox and shift tab back to it. It might
solve your problem as well.

Hope that helps!

Tapin Radio Complications

2014-03-30 Thread Ketan Kothari
Hi,

I am a professional subscriber of tapin radio. I love the app and yesterday I

scheduling a recording with tapin radio

2014-02-11 Thread Ray T. Mahorney
got it on the machine and worked out how to enter the start time and duration.
The documentation on
how to schedule a recording seems to be a bit shakey for example can you
manually enter a stream URL
or does that have to be in the favorites? Also there is another combo box
which simply says
application 0 items what does it need to see at that point?

Tapin Radio Problem

2014-01-18 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hi Listers: I have a Tapin Radio problem that I don't know quite what to do
about: I am running the pro version of Tapin Radio; one of the nice perks is
that you can schedule an event to record at a later time. So I usually like
to record something from radio station WSM (the program comes on at eight
o'clock (eastern time) I go through and tell it when I want to stop and so
forth; the thing is, when I get to the create task button, it tells me that
the file exists!  So I though Okay.I'll go to delete task button no soap;
it does nothing upon entering that! This has happened before; consequently,
it doesn't record my event! So what is it I should do to get this thing to
realize that I am scheduling a new event? Am running Windows 7 64 bit (home
premium edition the latest Jaws 15. Help greatly appreciated! I can
record anything else with apparently no problem; just can't record WSM as it
says the file exists!

Tom Kaufman

This drives me nuts tapin radio scheduler.

2013-12-11 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
One thing that makes me very irritated is that when i do a schedule in
tapinradio i can't see the alternatives in the comboboxes where to set if tapin
radio should record or start alarm.
I can see the alarm alternative so i guess the second one is record.
In the next combo box there's a lot of alternatives that should select what to
do when stopping the recording.
I have tried both jaws and nvda.
None of them work.

Hello List: I don't know if this is completely on topic or not, but here
goes: this past Wednesday I took the plunge and bought the pro version of

a receipt and one from Remosoft (sorry about wrong spelling) support, saying
that I would receive an email with licensing information within forty eight
hours. Well the forty eight hours had come and gone, but no license info
has arrived in my inbox! So I have written to the support team for Tapin in
hopes I could get some kind of response; again.not a word! So the only
thing I knew to do is to write to this list (Tapin Radio, I assume, has been
discussed on here before) although this really isn't exactly dealing with
the program percee! So in view of the fact that this may be slightly
off-topic, if anyone wants to respond to me offlist, that would be fine as
I really would like an answer of some kind! Here I have bought this
program, but cannot use it as I don't have the license key! Thanks for
listening and my apologies if this is off-topic!

If you go to menu/setting/status bar you can set all parameters by
expanding it and arrowing up/down you'll find information you want to be
displayed on the status bar in TR's window. Once you set what you want you

can reach it using screen reader by nvda+end shortcut or jaws+end which
brings up the status bar in all apps that have it available.

In the Status bar submenu you can set e.g. the time in the area of
actively playing station bitrate audio format frequency rate and more
importantly the amount of data you download by listening to either one or
all stations in general since you've last started Tapin-radio.

Is there any way using Tapin radio with a screen reader to accurately
determine the bit rate of the stream which is playing?

Incidentally, I just want to say a big thank you to V tech or whatever

product. Tapin radio is the greatest.

Re: TapIn Radio

2013-09-05 Thread Vítek
Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. The advantages of paid PRO versions are:

Automatic checking for database so you don't need to keep trying manually
whether or not a new one has been released. TR will take care of everything for
you.

You can have all newly added stations displayed by clicking ctrl+n shortcut so
you can compare the stations being new for the actual period of week.

Advanced scheduling.

More instances of TR on so you can for instance have one station playing and
the other turned down recording etc.

Wishlist available so you can define for example strings of song titles or
artists or groups to be automatically recorded. Say you want to record all by
Queen so you type queen (not case-sensitive) and when the actively playing
station starts playing anything by Queen TR will record it on its own. You
don't need to keep listening in sitting all day at the computer unpatiently
waiting for your song to be played but just define the string and have it all
recorded split into separate tracks.

In the add-to-faves form you can have all songs that have been played written
into the .txt file so you can have a great control over all songs they've
recently played since you started listening to the appropriate station.

That would be all in more details.

Have a nice day
