Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Version discrepancy between genpuid and MusicIP

2009-12-02 Thread bookemdano

Thanks for the reply, cparker. Hmm, I am almost positive that I am
actually running the 1.9 beta 6 version that has been offered on
MusicIP's website for quite some time now. I got the version information
in my post from the "About MusicIP Mixer" dialog from the Help menu. I
assume that MusicIP just forgot to update that screen.

Could you check yours at your convenience and let me know if it says
the same as mine? If yours really does indicate version 1.9 then let me
know... maybe that version will be compatible with genpuid.

Do you use genpuid 1.4? Have you had any issues with its m3lib files
being incompatible with the MusicIP GUI?

Thanks again.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-12-02 Thread trouty00

Hi Pippin,
I'm just playing round with napster and first impressions are
good with ipeng until I came to the track search. I don't appear to be
able to add a track which I find resulting from track search into the
playlist unless

1. I add to napster library and then go into it from there and play it
although for some reason it doesn't add into artists subgroup although
it does go into the genres area, I have to go out of napster and come
back in for it to show up in artists (even if i give a couple of
minutes)

2. search by track, work out the album, search by album and then add my
track but seems a long way round.

I can search and add by track in the Web interface (still waiting for
my radio but assume I will be able to do it using that interface)

So in essence I have two issues, first one that doesn't auto show in
artists (not a huge deal for me) but I would like the ability to add a
track I find by searching for it.

any ideas?

Cheers
Stu

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-12-02 Thread pippin

The genres thing is MySB.
The add to playlist thing is either something I overlooked I'd
something that changed since I did the menu. Hard to change, though,
actually add, play, etc should be part of that menu and that they are
not is part of a bigger SBS bug.
There's a workaround, though: you can open the album (not add it to the
library, just open it) the track belongs to and add it from there.
It's the 4th or 5th item in the context menu.

Hmmm, not sure what you are experiencing but it doesn't seem to be
universal. I just added the plugin to another instance of SbS this

restarted and worked perfectly on my end.

I don't have any experience of pronto but if you fancy having a go then
be my guest - I'll be too busy explaining conversion to Denon protocol
from LIRC ;) The calls from ProtocolToNative() are vitually unchanged
in the next version. I also thought about writing a converter that
understood IPC notation (that funny-looking 38k,264<1,-1|1,-3>D:8F:5
thing) but haven't found it documented anywhere although we probably
know enough to have a go at some of the more common symbologies.

Not at all, it's a mess.
The background of it all is this:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14145
What this means is, that context menus in all Apps don't work and are
replaced by simple "play, add, add next, add to favorites" menus for
playable items. The original menus are being deactivated in
Squeezeplay.

iPeng tries to keep the original menus and adds the above items to the
items if it knows it's a track, unfortunately this detection doesn't
work in this menu because "search" doesn't include an "album" or
"playlist" tag for the result set making iPeng believe this is a simple
menu. Simple menus don't get "play..." items added because this makes
little sense for, say, player brightness.

This is the simplified version, so there may still be a chance so
please file a ticket for this and I'll see what I can do in 1.3, maybe
Logitech fixes the underlying issue till then.

I've heard the following issues with 3.5 so far:

1. On Windows, can select stations and they appear to play but no sound
from the some of the logitech players (e.g., duet player) but sound from
others (e.g., duet controller).

2. Light web skin not working properly (I don't think it ever was)

Any other bugs I need to include in the update?

And I need to retrofit the new plugin back to SqueezeCenter 7.3.x

The installation from the extension downloader screen does work and
should be used going forward. Please delete any manual files including
the XMRadio folder, and if you had pasted the xml into the "Additional
Repositories" box at the foot of the plugins page, remove that too and
click apply. And then install XMRadioOnline from the "Other 3rd Party

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunesUpdate plugin not working on 7.4

2009-12-02 Thread WhaleOil

Hi there

It is a long time since I did this, but I also had enormous trouble
getting Mac::AppleScript::Glue to install.

In the end I think I got it to work by logging in as the 'root' user in
OS X (just being an administrator user did not seem to be enough). I
think you also need to install the 'developer tools' from the OS X disc
(or at least you did, not sure if this is still necessary).

If you search these forums for 'whaleoil root' you will find three
threads which discuss this issue at some length (in particular one
called 'iTunesUpdate on Tiger(Intel)')- many people have had this
problem it seems and different things seem to have worked for different
people.

Hope this helps.

Oh hell! So much for the Mac theory, that also pretty much eliminates

Are you talking about multiple instances of Squeezecenter or one
instance of the Squeezecenter server and multiple player devices? Also
make sure you have the official Sirius plugin explicitly disabled. That
error message is not one of mine, and I've never seen my plugin
encounter that error even when using the same account multiple times
simultaneously.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2009-12-02 Thread Symbiotic

I've tried every possible search combination I can think of in this
thread, but can't seem to find the answer to this:

Under OS X (Leopard), if I send a WOL packet from the SB3 to wake the
server (running on the Mac), it works OK. But the Mac goes to sleep - as
per my energy saver settings - after 30 minutes, even if there is music
streaming from the server. I'm hoping this plugin can help with that,
though admittedly I don't really see any 'settings' that would allow
that to happen.

Can anyone address this concern?

I'm hoping college basketball isn't like this. You can safely assume a
Sunday for NFL and a Saturday for college football, but basketball games
are all over the place day-of-the-week wise. Maybe SDT should show the
scheduled day/date as well as the time now that ESPN has changed.
Thanks for the update.

FWIW: we decided it wasn't worth the pain and simply launch the AppleScript as
a child task.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extracting music database in text format

the trouble may be that ACC does only work on windows ...
I have compiled some python scripts that are able to query SC via CLI I
can provide, however they are really slow to extract a full database.

The best solution would certainly be to create something similar to ACC
direclty in SC, but I lack perl knowledge (and time :)) to do that, even
if i would be deeply interested in such plugin
