gharris999;616005 Wrote: I have to admit that I don't have any experience with wireless bridges so I'm unclear if broadcast packets hop across the gap or not. But what kind of a SqueezeBox are you using? As far as I know, the older, IP3K based SBs essentially just remember a single MAC address for WOL. If you're using one of these older SqueezeBoxes, you could try performing a factory reset and then setting it up again connected via wire to one of the ports on the wireless bridge. I'm thinking that that way the real mac address of the mac mini will get saved to the whom-to-WOL slot in player. And hopefully that slot will survive changing the network setting back to wireless (which you'll have to do without doing another factory reset, of course.) Worth a shot, anyway. The other alternative is iPeng. You can hard-code the mac-mini's MAC in iPeng and it should be able to WOL it. I mean, if NetWake can do it, iPeng should be able to do it too. Even putting the WOL feature aside, iPeng is well worth the $10, IMHO. I'm using a SB radio that's less than a year old so I guess its not worth trying the approach you suggest. I agree with you about Ipeng - worth every cent. Unfortunately when Ipeng connects to a server it remembers the MAC address of that server and associates it with the server's IP address. In my setup the minute I use IPeng from the repeater side of the network (i.e. by my bed where I want to use WOLan), it overwrites any previously entered MAC address with the MAC address of the repeater bridge. Thus it is unable to WOLan the server the next time unless I manually overwrite the saved MAC address again. I have fooled around with saving a dummy server IP address with the correct MAC address and then using manual WOL on Ipeng, but frankly it's easier to use NetAwake and I'm not really too bothered about getting Ipeng to do the same job. But it would be very nice to get SB Radio to wake the server 5 minutes before it wakes me up with an alarm as it is designed to. Ironically, I did have this functionality working using Server Power Control. Provided I used the sleep function each night on my SB Radio, ServerPowerControl would set a wake event on the server before the next alarm. It worked most of the time pretty well, but I think ReallyPreventStandby is a better overall solution for me even given this small niggle. -- shawje shawje's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37017 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have the /a issue as well. It works in the web UI, but in iPeng and on the Controller the /a come up for some albums (all albums I have by Alan Parsons Project, for example). SBS 7.5.4. is running on Win XP and I have the modules from your webpage installed. The Biography plugin works fine also on iPeng. The issue seems to appear for me on iPeng and the Controller when there is an intermediate html with several albums to choose from, not when the review is delivered at once. Could the issue appear because it is not possible to follow html links in iPeng and on the Controller? If this is the case could it be possible to send to those devices just the first album suggested by AMG without the intermediate html file? The review would be for the correct album most of the times and it is better to have a review than the /a. If there is an entry for the album in AMG but no review the track listing is shown in the Web UI but in iPeng and on the Controller just the album name, release date and (by) is shown. As I envision it, you'd still have SrvrPowerCtrl installed, but you'd turn off all of its idle monitoring. When ReallyPreventStandby stops inhibiting sleep, we'll have it fire off a CLI command to SrvrPowerCtrl asking it to set the wake-alarm. This is already possible, by the way, if you're using Bernhard Baehr's SleepWatcher daemon. You can craft a script that gets called when SleepWatcher senses the system is about to go to sleep. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
Hi all, and thanks bpa, this is a great plugin for Squeezebox Server, really useful one. Finally a simple solution to get audio from a laptop to amplifier without cables. Thanks! I read through this thread and didn't see an exact answer on how to get audio streaming work from PulseAudio to Squeezebox Touch without using Audacity or any complex software combinations as suggested before. So I did a little research myself within several hours. I think I found, basically, a simple solution. However, stream delay is between acceptable-horrible, but I guess it depends more on Squeezebox Touch buffering size which is approximately 20mb (? not sure about the measure unit), according to the Soundcheck's Touch Toolbox 2.0 (see Google) I haven't modified the default buffering size yet, so I'm not very sure whether the delay depends on it. What's the delay then, how much? It's from a few seconds to about one minute with default Squeezebox Touch/Server settings, using WiFi connection + Pulseaudio RTP Multicast on a laptop. So, at least, video streaming to Touch is out of question so far. Audio, however, doesn't crackle very much. Just pure sounds coming out from living room home-theather, streamed from my Asus Eee PC to Squeezebox Touch and again forwarded to the amplifier. I noticed crackling just few short times while playing music about 4 hours non-stop. The overall quality is, however, good. I start from basics, step by step. Details of the following instruction varies from distro/version to another, so don't get confused. It has been tested only on Ubuntu 10.04 and suits perfectly only on it. You may need Google or search from another replies/topics/forums for further instructions. Some steps may be irrelevant, but the instructions works 100% for me, anyway. Please forgive me, I decided to make it more all-in-one, so even Squeezebox Installation is shortly described. Because of length limit and my account limits here, I splitted my reply into four parts. Skip -Installation of Squeezeboxserver on Ubuntu 10.04- if you already have Squeezebox Server installed and instead, go to the part -Setting up Waveinput-. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Over the last few days I have subscribed to Spotify Premium and installed Triode's invaluable plug-in. Thank you, Triode!!! Just a couple of points: 1) In the plug-in settings there is no option to enable/disable 'Volume Normalization', unlike on the Spotify web interface. (For classical music it is pretty vital that the normalization is switched off.) What normalization setting does the plug-in use? Or does it pick up whatever is the Spotify default? (I have no idea what that is!) Could an option to enable/disable normalization be added to the settings please? 2) The real benefit of the Premium subscription (apart from being able to use Triode's plug-in) is access to the 320 kbps streams. However, of the tracks/albums I have looked at and listened to (via the Spotify web interface) only a small minority seem to available at 320 kbps - perhaps 20%. (Yes I have enabled the high bitrate in Spotify Preferences.) I use a utility that shows my download bitrate, otherwise I wouldn't have known. It might be just my choice of music, but I suspect not. Anyway, my question is - would it be possible for the Spotify plug-in to show the actual bitrate being streamed, in addition to the normal bitrate that the plug-in is set at? (I would be very happy if someone can show that I am mistaken about only a small minority of tracks being available at 320kbps.) -- JohnB JohnB's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

However, stream delay is between acceptable-horrible, but I guess it depends more on Squeezebox Touch buffering size which is approximately 20mb (? not sure about the measure unit), according to the Soundcheck's Touch Toolbox 2.0 (see Google) I haven't modified the default buffering size yet, so I'm not very sure whether the stream delay depends on it. How much is the delay then? It varies between few seconds to about one minute with default Squeezebox Touch/Server settings, using WiFi connection + Pulseaudio RTP Multicast on a laptop. Triode, Many thanks for your reply. I'm going to do some tests over the next couple of days as, on my system, when I play music from Spotify via my Squeezebox Duet (feeding the digital output into my audio system), the volume seems much, much higher than when I play, say, Radio 3 iPlayer or CDs ripped to flac.
