Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
aubuti;643033 Wrote: Take a look at the SPC configuration options and you'll see there are various alternative thresholds that can be used for determining idle. One can be using idle SBs as the only criterion, but other options use network traffic, CPU usage and maybe hard disk activity. See which you have set in your configuration. Note that if you are running a really old version of SPC it only uses SB idleness to trigger a suspend/hibernate action. The other options were introduced several months ago. Thanks for the suggestion. I assume that what you suggested definitively will help when the suspend doesn't work. In my case the situation is vice versa: the PC tried to go into suspend while I was actively using the PC and that should not happen... or are we saying that the SvrPowerControl overwrites all other functions? I mean if that is the case then it could well be that if SvrPowerControl dectects that the SBs are idling a suspend is executed even I'm working at the PC. But then I would assume that SvrPowerControl should also check the situation of the PC prior to issuing the suspend command. If you configure SPC to trigger the shutdown based solely on SB status, then it will do so even if you are working at the computer. That is why it may be useful to use a different shutdown criterion, such as idle disk IO threshold, idle network IO threshold, or CPU load threshold. If you use one of those, then SPC will not suspend the computer while you are working on it (assuming you are at least meeting one or more of those thresholds), even if the SBs are idle. I repeat: what are your settings in the System Idle Monitor: section of SPC's configuration?? Instead of assuming this or that, look at what settings you are using. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins
Since Logitech decided to release Squeezebox Server 7.6 today I want to make sure everyone using the TrackStat plugin remembers to take a backup of its data before upgrading to Squeezebox Server 7.6.0. If you have setup scheduled nightly backup of TrackStat data, you can just take the latest nightly backup. If not, you will have to take a manual backup as described below before you upgrade. You will always have to restore the TrackStat backup after you have upgraded to 7.6, else most of your TrackStat data will be lost. Manual backup in 7.5: 1. Goto SBS Settings - Advanced - TrackStat - Backup/Restore/Clear 2. Specify the full path to a file where you want the backup to be stored in the Backup file parameter 3. Click Apply to save the settings. 4. Click the Backup to file button to perform the backup 5. If you like to be 100% sure to not loose anything, you can double check that the backup file seems to contain TrackStat data by looking at its size or viewing it in a text editor. Restore after the 7.6 upgrade: = 1. Let Squeezebox Server complete the rescan so all your music is available, a TrackStat backup can't be restored before the rescan has completed successfully. 2. Goto SBS Settings - Advanced - TrackStat - Backup/Restore/Clear 3. Specify the full path to the file with TrackStat data in the Backup file parameters. If you performed the manual backup in 7.5 this is probably already set correctly. 4. If you know your current TrackStat data from 7.5 was correct, it's a good idea to set Find alternative files option to No as that will make the restore considerably faster. Setting this to Yes will make the restore extremely slow in some setups. 5. Click Apply to save the settings. 6. Click Remove all data button to remove any default data which was generated due to the Squeezebox Server rescan. This step is optional and isn't needed in all setups, but I'd recommend doing it to get as clean TrackStat data as possible. 7. Click Restore from file button to start the restore. The restore operation will continue in the background, you have to look in the server.log file to see when it's finished. The server.log will indicate with a message like this when the restore has started: Plugins::TrackStat::Backup::File::initRestore (165) Restore from: /home/erland/TrackStat/trackstat_scheduled_backup_20110706.xml And with a message like this when the backup has been successfully restored: Plugins::TrackStat::Backup::File::doneScanning (230) Restore completed at 2011-07-06 12:13:20 If you accidentally shutdown Squeezebox Server before the restore is finished, you will have to repeat the operation. As reference, in my 3500 track library it took about 8 minutes to restore the backup. It works again in beta4 without me changing anything. The only app I have come across that I use frequently that crashes in iOS5 is yours, and I have tried hundreds of apps. Try the builtin camera App for example. It crashes for me on every 2nd or 3rd photo I make still with beta 4 although beta 4 got much better. I made this comment when beta 2 was the status quo, especially beta 4 got much better. Obviously I don't expect apps to just work with a beta OS and I don't blame you for the crashes. I'm just hoping that you are not waiting for iOS5 to 'stabilize' before trying to get an update out. I really miss iPeng. I am waiting for XCode to stabilize until I even start to consider doing serious iOS5 related work. Right now I get 4 exceptions in XCode with every single change I make to my project (like renaming a file). I now this is because I use a legacy project because with my new projects I created in XCode 4 it will only raise two exceptions per change. From time to time XCode crashes on startup when trying to load a xib file which means I then have to find out which one it is, remove it from the project and re-add it. This is unusable crap. And that's the release version. I'm seriously angry about Apple here. I talked to Apple engineers (XCode developers, that is) and they had no idea what the problem is but seriously, EVERYBODY around me there had the same trouble. Apple's got a really serious quality problem right now. I'm not willing to invest even more days to debug yet another XCode version. That aside - I only have one serious development machine anymore and since I can't build for the App Store if I load 4.2 onto that machine I'm without debug capability for iOS 5. That said: iPEng doesn't crash as often for me under beta 4 (the keychain issue wasn't causing the crashes, that was a communication stack issue, I believe, because all the Apps where I saw this used to crash while trying to load data from the internet), there are only two crashes for which I get reports from Apple and one is one I've already fixed and which I believe may also be the reason for at least some of the crashes mentioned above although I did nut get any iOS 4 crash reports. The other one is one I seriously don't understand, somwhere deep in the graphics subsystem, I tend to claim that's an iOS issue. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Have you tried to reboot the computer SBS is running on to make 100% sure SBS is restarted ? -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins
Erland I've upgraded to 7.6 on a ReadyNAS Pro. I've added few extra re-boots this time to make sure, but I still have a problem. The Custom scan module is not starting automatically following a system scan. I have the Include in automatic scans and Scan All box ticked. -- onimod onimod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38914 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.6 cannot find Triode's Spotify plugin?
When it's not installed, it is listed as 3rd party Spotify plugin so if you are looking under S you won't find it there. -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.5 | iPod Touch w/ iPeng Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89055 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The Custom scan module is not starting automatically following a system scan. I have the Include in automatic scans and Scan All box ticked. Do you have Automatically detect changes enabled in SBS Settings/Advanced/Performance ? If so, that's probably the issue, I can't enable automatic rescan of Custom Scan if Automatically detect changes is enabled because it will cause huge performance problem since the Automatically detect changes isn't reliable, it will trigger too often so you might end up with a continuously running Custom Scan process which is very bad for both the functionality and performance of the system. If the above isn't the cause, is the Automatic rescan option under SBS Settings/Advanced/Custom Scan/Various Settings enabled ? If it is, could you try looking in the server.log to see if you see some error or other information in the log. You could enable debug logging on plugin.customscan in SBS Settings/Advanced/Logging to make sure you get some more log information. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
On my SB3's BBC iPlayer disappeared from the Internet Radio Menu when upgrading to 7.6 Not a big problem - just had to put it back as a separate entity into each of the SB3's menus. Any ideas why it didn't persist? -- ian_heys ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
