Works perfectly!

Thanks very much for taking the time to do it.

The high cpu usage occurs using either the settings web page and
enabling the first option, or simply running the exe from the
directory.

ProcExp shows 4 threads using all the CPU, of

2016-01-04 Thread ButC

The problems with the grouped players (sync) persists. I can cast from
for example TuneIn Radio to the synced players and it plays fine but
switching to casting from LMS, when I hit Play (in Orange Squeeze)
nothing happens. Casting to individual players works fine. And switching
back to TuneIn Radio, then sync still works. Any ideas? I'm running LMS
7.9 on a Win 10 laptop. And now I'm using the latest dev 0.2.0.0 :)

Hello Philippe, thank you for the quick response! I found the version
0.2.5.0 on sourceforge but how to install? lol.. I guess I need a .xml
link to the version 0.2.5.0 instead of 0.2.7.1 (or 0.2.7.2 now).

With Kimmo's help (the developer of Daphile) I found the log and config

2016-01-04 Thread Andy Cudlip

Does the CCA device need to be connected to the same SSID as the server
running LMS? Reason I ask is that I setup my CCA in the kitchen, where I
have extended my wifi signal via solwise homeplugs and an old router
configured as an AP, but used a different SSID. The CCA worked fine when
casting from my phone via Google Music, but CastBridge couldn't find the
device. However, it was able to find my other CC device in the living
room which is connected to the same SSID as my server.

Thanks in advance

Have you waited for the restore operation to finish ?
It runs in the background and it can take a few hours if you have a
large library or a large backup file.
There is a message in the LMS server.log file when the restore has
completed.

If you have the "Find alternative files" option enabled in TrackStat
backup settings page it should find the files as long as it's only the
beginning of the path that has changed. However, it can take a long time
to run the restore operation with this option enabled.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2016-01-04 Thread vanye

Hi Pippin,

The more I use the new album-browsing possibilities (by artists, by
year) the more I like them. Do you think it might be possible to have a
functionality as a part of iPeng that allows to choose the tags you want
scanned, the tag by which to browse and the tag by which to order the
browsed tag?

I imagine (please forgive my imagination running wild here) you could
have a page under "settings" where you display all the tags you have
scanned with a possibility to add tags you want scanned. Additionally
you could have two lists ("tags displayed in navigation" and "browsed
by") plus a possibility to add items by drag and drop from the tags
list.

For example, I would like to browse classical music not by album, but by
works. And I would like to order them not by year, but by original year,
composer, conductor or ensemble.

Yes, I know, this is exactly what Erlands plugins aim to achieve (and I
do own a lifetime licence for them). However, these only work well if
you just use what already exists. To create you own menus, you have to
have far better computer skills than I do.

So, if you could offer something like this in iPeng with the outstanding
usability that iPeng offers throughout, that would be great. And of
course I for one would be willing to pay for it, of course.

Installed LMS on a Acer mini PC with 3.0 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GHz DDR3
RAM running only Castbridge and BBC iPlayer Dash Version plugins (no
others). Windows 10 pared down to headless with no other programmes
running.

Set today's 5 Live Sports Extra cricket commentary (320kbps AAC DASH -
not transcoding) running on Desktop PC (previous LMS server) with
squeezelite standalone programme and upstairs CCA. Both ran for more
than 6 hours simultaneously, without stopping.

This is the first time I've had BBC iPlayer live radio DASH version
running for more than a couple of hours on any player.

Don't know what to think.

Has something changed at the BBC? Is having a PC with fewer processes
running helpful?

Have left the CCA running (with amp turned off) I'll try to see how long
it lasts.

insists on them being on the same SSID. The same may be true for this

I've made a small tool here to discover mDNS devices
https://github.com/philippe44/mDNS-SD/tree/master/bin. Can you launch it
(select the binary version that works for you, only Windows or Linux x86
now) with options "-c 2 _googlecast._tcp.local" (no "") and tell me what
you see. There might be a limitation in the discover process (multicast)
when you go over multiple hops.

Not sure how relevant it is or how easy it would be to work with the

Yes, I left the operation running and went out for the day (I remember
it taking a long time previously).

I think I checked the server log and saw that the restore has finished,
can't be sure though.

I did have the "find alternative files option enabled" as well as using
musicbrainz tags...but like I said the strange thing is that some
rating have been restored and some haven't.

I'll re-run the restore and see what happens.

least seconds after, only one of the players in the group was present in

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2016-01-04 Thread ButC

It just gets weirder. Now, trying again, it started playing through both
CCA:s and I then paused just to play another song and when hitting Play
maybe ten seconds later only one of the players in the group plays that
song. And this time all the players were present in Orange Squeeze.

This new logfile is 367 kb - is there a way to upload it?

A persistent BBC problem before christmas was "long response time"
packets. From my monitomring of R4 - averaging about once an hour but
worse around 10.00am and between 5.00pm and 7.00pm http GETs took longer
than 2 secs to get reponse from BBC and less frequently there were
reponse time between 20 secs and 2 mins. A little monitoring of R3 had
similar long respponse time packets but peaked at different times. Most
users have DASH timeout set up to 3 secs so breaks would occur
(typically "cannot resolve ip ". Three possibilities come to mind but
more are possible.
1. Nothing has changed - lnetwork oad has lightened over Christmas and
is not yet back to "normal" - probably not until schools are back.
2. BBC had planned more capacity for 2016 and it has started to come
online
3. Web attack has resulted in more capacity and resilience.

I'll try to do some monitoring over next few days to see if anything has
changed.

Slight puzzlement.

i have upnp2sq installed on one server (say A)

I have a second server (say B)

I can move a squeezebox device from A to B via the web gui on B - if it
is a 'real' device. I can also move a squeezelite player from B to A.

I cannot move a upnp2sq device from A to B using the gui on B

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2016-01-04 Thread pippin

The problem with this is that it's all stuff I can't do in iPeng. The
scanner doesn't run in iPeng, iPeng doesn't have access to your files,
SQL queries don't run in iPeng and so on.
iPeng could provide a better settings UI but the functionality still
would have to be on the server side.

I'm trying to simplify things that exist, functionality wise, but I'm
also concerned about the complexity in iPeng itself.
Adding complex tasks like configuring the database metrics would confuse
the big majority of users who don't need this.

I think stuff like that would be better placed in either a better setup
experience in the web interface or a separate App. After all, it's stuff
you don't do every day in iPeng, it's stuff you do once and then never
again.

On the server gui - top right dropdown listing players. If you have a
second server it shows here with attached players. Select one of these
players and you are asked if you want to move it to the current server .

Just setup Triode with my Duet; works great. Big thanks to the the

I searched this thread a little bit, but can't find any mention on the

I am just seeing a very limited list of genre radio stations, and not
the channels I saved (Playlisst work great).

Is this a limitation, or am I doing something wrong?

hmmm ... my modified squeezelite has a limitation here, so moving from

complication with some server feature detection that original

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin

2016-01-04 Thread kefkekeyser

I start a random mix, go the the SmartMix menu and choose 'Create mix on
current title'. This creates a mix with 3 songs.
Don't stop the music! is on; SmartMix should add new songs when the
queue is almost finished, but that does not work.

I already tried a rescan of my lib and remove + installed SmartMix
again, but that doesn't fix it.

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.3 (running on Synology NAS)
SmartMix version: 1.7.2

Why does SmarMix stop?

Oh, whether it gets implemented directly in iPeng or as an extra
