Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS
I have been running LMS for some years. Recently I looked into replacing it with an Echo/Amazon setup. I now have this working too but it is nowhere near as robust as LMS + Squeeze Ctrl and the Web interface. I am very interested in Media Server. I would very much like a concise installation procedure if one exists. Dropping in on a product that has 35 pages in the thread is a challenge (yes I have read them) since install procedures seem dynamic at best. For example, do I need an account on Media Server? What server address do I put into the Echo skill field. If there is a url or a post giving the current way to get this up and running, please point me to it. Thanks in advance and Happy Christmas to all. Thanks for your response. I just tried it on my setup (MacOS server, latest version) and the the server approach behaves exactly how I'd expect it to, but the squeeze control app does not. There's a difference between server and app behavior. Specifically: Via the server: if I select My Music -> Genres -> Holiday (as an example) -> and then select the triangle play button that is in the same row as a specific artist it will play JUST the holiday albums by that artist. Via squeeze control: if I select My Music -> Genres -> Holiday (or whatever) -> scroll to specific artist, press and hold the circle-plus button and select play, it will queue ALL albums by that artist, not just the holiday albums. (Same with Add To End and Play Next, both add all albums not just the specific genre'd albums). Of note - it does behave as I'd expect if I short click the circle-plus button. In that case it adds just the holiday albums by that artist to the end. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Can we have a mechanism to prevent checking remote sites for a particular album review (or for a particular set)? I guess I could do it by putting in a blank review file in each album folder but better would be to be able to (perhaps by a set of regex) exclude certain albums. I suggest this only because I have a number of albums that I know will never be reviewed because they are my own radio show recordings. It probably does no harm for the lookup to fail - but being able to avoid them completely might be kinder to the remote sites that host the genuine reviews. Imagine I have a set of recordings of a radio show called "Interesting Radio Programme" and I store them like albums - with the album title of Interesting Radio Programme - 1973/12/25 Interesting Radio Programme - 1974/01/01 Interesting Radio Programme - 1974/01/08 Then I could prevent reviews by having a regex that looks for "^Interesting Radio Programme - " If I had a different radio show called "Different Show" where I used the same scheme ... then I could have one regex that matched them both ... " - [1-2][0-9][0-9][0-9]/[0-1][0-9]/[0-3][0-9]$" with little chance that it would match others ... and with little consequence if it did. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Tidal stutter using LMS
I'm getting stuttering on some, but not all, music streamed from TIDAL. I think the problem is LMS. I'm using LMS 7.9.2 on a Windows 10 PC, streaming to three SB Classics. My internet connection is stable and is adequate for music and video streaming (36 mbps). I'm trying to stream TIDAL hi-fi content i.e CD quality in FLAC. I encounter no stuttering at all when streaming from Quobuz (CD quality also). To try and identify the problem, I've listened to the same music from TIDAL on my PC - there is no stuttering. I've also streamed TIDAL from my Samsung tablet (via bluetooth) to an ARCAM IR DAC connected to my main hi-fi system. Again there is no stuttering (although the music sounds somewhat tinny compared to streaming through LMS with its wi-fi connection). Is there an adjustment I can make to LMS to get over this stuttering? Many thanks. jazzguy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12152 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111370 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
