Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
- tried using a touch in the spotify-connect mode, but every now and and then it would stop working; the device would be seen in the spotify app, This unfortunately is a known issue. ok, that's too bad. Is this a spotify lib/api limitation? No, I believe it's a combination of the playback issues seen below and the complexity of having multiple systems who believe they were in control of the streaming: both LMS and Spotify want to be the playback master, and try to be. Keeping them in sync is not easy, and I believe there's some wierd interaction going on sometimes stopping playback. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I do have a Surface Go, the most basic one running in S-Mode, but I can't make it do what you describe. Can you tell me exactly what you do to get this effect? You have the option set to run in background. Do you have it set to start minimized? Do you just click on the tray icon as soon as you can? BTW, after every time you install or update SLX from the Store, the tray icon will revert back to the hidden area of the tray a few moments after you run it. I always have to drag it back to the visible part of the task bar for it to stay there. (Nothing I can do about that, its Windows thing.) When you say the tray icon goes away could that be what is happening? (I don't mean to offend if this question is too basic, but I just can't make mine exhibit this behavior.) Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Yeah - so zapping IS a standard feature of LMS that has been around for-just-about-ever. By default, it's accessible by the remote (rather than the classic skin)if you press and hold the 'add' button when any song is playing, it is removed from the queue and added to the Zapped Songs playlist. You can then choose what to do with this playlist - e.g. this method can be used to take one playlist and create from it another playlist that is a shortlist (just rename Zapped Songs to something else...). Or it can be used to make a list of songs that need some sort of attention (metadata fixing, favourites from an album, lots of use cases really...). E.g. Michael Herger talks about it here: https://forums.slimdevices.com/archive/index.php/t-106162.html So not -necessarily- used to create a permanent skip-over playlist, but I would guess that is almost certainly the most common use case (and super handy). Fine of course if you want to hide it if Custom Skip is not there, but it's not, per se, the only use case. bossanova808's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=619 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

philippe_44 wrote: > Does it come back on further tracks? Some images have been known to > cause issue with CC. I would have to look at my logs, but I vaguely > remember trying to unsuccessfully fix that. OK Some more information I tried it again today. It played the first 2 tracks fine. Then about halfway through the 3rd track, the Album art disappeared and was replaced by the Blue Colored Chromecast symbol. This disappeared in about 5 seconds and was replaced with about 3 different pictures from Google. These disappeared and was replaced again by the Blue Colored Chromecast symbol in the center of a Black Screen. This remained until the end of the track, when it displayed the album art of the next track perfectly. The Album art displayed for about 5 seconds and was replaced again by the Blue Chromecast Symbol. About every 2 minutes the Album Art would again appear for about 5 seconds and then revert to the Blue Chromecast symbol, until the end of track, it would display the next album art cover perfectly, but only for 5 seconds and then revert back to the blue Chromeccast symbol. One thing, I manually advanced that track to close to the end and then when it switched tracks, It displayed the next Album art perfectly and left it there until about 30 seconds of the end of the track, then it disappeared and reverted back to the Chromecast symbol. Once in awhile I would notice the progress bar 'stuttering' towards the end of the track, with maybe a minute left. The progress would display the time left and would increase by a few seconds than reverse.. This may be just One TV and one Chromecast as my other chromecast and TV seems to work fine Cut-Throat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43167 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112770 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes, you understood correctly, but the 'anything else?' (as proposed) would not happen for a one shot - you'd have to open the skill first. If you ignored the 'Anything else?' she would ask it again (I cannot avoid that) and just beep at you when you ignore the second prompt (indicating that the session is closed). So you -can- ignore her. All this while the blue ring would be lit so you know she still expects an answer. For clarity: When answering in the affirmative, you don't say first yes and then the command, it's either a bare command or one of no/cancel/shut-up/ignore to drop the session. I could add a command to select whether you want this feature enabled or disabled (and then it would also work for one-shots) but then recertification would be needed because that's a change to the voice model. So in this way, you stick to one-shots for one-off commands and use sessions when you know you want to issue back-to-back commands. philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

- tried using a touch in the spotify-connect mode, but every now and and then it would stop working; the device would be seen in the spotify app, This unfortunately is a known issue. - So I switched to playing spotify through LSM directly. This seems much more solid, however the music stops quite often... as often as every few songs (i.e. 4 or 5). My playlists are fairly large, but have seen this with smaller ones as well. I can just play "next" and the next song will play, after which a few more.. then things will stop again. Is there a way to change options/settings or do anything to eliminate this problem? I have observed these issues with both 4.2 and latest 4.3 plugin version. There recently were reports about "short" tracks not playing correctly. But it seems the situation has recovered. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS
I've been testing a possibility to provide *back-to-back commands* without having to say 'Alexa, ask MediaServer to...' before each and every command. It works very well. The idea is that you issue the commands in-session rather than one-shot. So when you first ask 'Alexa, open Media Server', after she says 'Say a Media Server command:' she will continually tack on ['What else?', 'Any other command?', 'Anything else?'] *until you say 'no'*. This means you could e.g. say: Alexa, open Media Server Play some Deep House Enable shuffle Disable repeat What's playing? Duration No--> ends session without repeating either 'Alexa' or 'MediaServer' during the session. Is this feature desirable and should I go live with it? The only disadvantage is that people who do all their commands in-session will now have to answer with a 'no' after every MediaServer response from Alexa. philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
