Yes, very rare (the first I've ever seen and I even didn't know that I own one - It's not marked) - I just set CDplayer to 'Do not lookup any CD database' and used 'CD-Text: OASIS DEFINITELY MAYBE by OASIS'/ tmp-CDplayer-CD-TEXT.opml created by CDplayer - Your CD-Text implementation works! Just because you've written about the Internet connection - and indeed especially the OASIS CD has many hits in the database (> 10). But at this point you are also right. Disabling the lookup does not change anything. bpa wrote: > > Don't understand pause/play comment. OS and/or CDdrive will cache tracks > and do readahead to keep disk spinning. 'Pause' with Win10/VLC just stops playing (DVD-Drive keeps disk spinning on slow speed (guess x1) and 'play' starts playing w/o delay. 'Pause' with LMS on Linux/CDPlayer stops playing (don't know if the disk kept spinning) and after 'play' spinning speeds up with max. speed. Then it takes about 15 sec. to resume at the org. position. bpa wrote: > > CDplayer is not efficient because cdda2wav is used to find track (e.g. > skip x secs) and to do control and each time cdda2wavis called, it does > its own thing - such as reread the disk. > > To be efficient - rip the CD. I did test with a CD-Text CD. CD reading is mainly handled at OS level so VLC will probably be similar to cdd2wav on same OS. What we were doing for the non 100% was adjusting the Denon while the player was adjusting it's output too. So you got two adjustments. We are working on 4.1 so for players that are not running in 100% output, we will do nothing with the volume at all other than perhaps asking for the Quick Select to be set during player turn on if you ask us to. That has a volume setting in it based on what you have set in the Denon. I am curious about what user interface you are using to adjust the volume that makes such large jumps. We have noticed different clients do send over adjustments in different sizes and that is more of a client issue than the plugin, but perhaps we can adjust the plugin based on known client behaviors. We have already contacted one developer who has modified their app accordingly. The plugin works with using an LMS player as a client. It does not support streams outside of LMS. Like Paul Webster states, using the UPnP Bridge plugin in theory should allow LMS to send the content to the Denon via streaming. Don't know. Now if you are asking can the plugin send the Denon the current song title that LMS is playing to be displayed on the receivers panel, I am pretty sure that the answer is no. From looking at the documentation, this only works when you are streaming or via the USB port. Since the LMS player is either coming in via analog, or one of the digital adapters, the display features are not available to us. But perhaps this is a feature that could be added to, or is in, the UPnP Bridge plugin. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] StatusFirst plugin problem
This should be fixed in version 2.1.9 which I published today. StatusFirst was trying to do the right thing, but some time after LMS verison 7.4, the method it uses to show information (the showBriefly() client API) changed and required different usage for "Jive" players like Touch and Radio. So on Jive players StatusFirst prevented the status change but failed to display the current information. I've verified version 2.1.9 works again on a Radio and a touchscreen piCorePlayer, so I fully expect it would also work on a Touch. And whatever I do the callback function is *always called twice* on my system. I even talked a not very happy friend into installing LMS and softsqueeze on his old Windows7 laptop with only this test plugin enabled and he gets 2 messages as well. Does this happen on any type of scan, or only some (rescan, wipecache etc.)? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'd already disabled *all* plugins (not only 3rd party plugins) and deleted all databases and caches known to me at some point. So the only plugin enabled is my Test Plugin that gives me the debug messages for rescan done events: Code: package Plugins::TestPlugin::Plugin; use strict; use warnings; use utf8; use base qw(Slim::Plugin::Base); use Slim::Utils::Log; my $log = Slim::Utils::Log->addLogCategory({ 'category' => 'plugin.testplugin', 'defaultLevel' => 'DEBUG', 'description' => 'Test Plugin', }); sub initPlugin { my $class = shift; Slim::Control::Request::subscribe(\&testcallback,[['rescan'],['done']]); $class->SUPER::initPlugin(@_); } sub testcallback { $log->debug("\n\n** TEST CALLBACK INIT **\n\n"); } 1; And whatever I do the callback function is *always called twice* on my system. I even talked a not very happy friend into installing LMS and softsqueeze on his old Windows7 laptop with only this test plugin enabled and he gets 2 messages as well. The Denon plugin experts may well be able to do something - but another possible option for you is to install on LMS the UPnP Bridge plugin. This should make your Denon device look like a Squeezebox and you can then play directly to it from LMS.
