[SlimDevices: Plugins] Buffering issues when streaming Deezer in Squeezelite-X
Hi all, I'm getting OutputUnderrun messages when streaming Deezer tracks (FLAC) when playing from Squeezelite-X on my PC. Then the track stops to rebuffer. Happens pretty much every song somewhere around the 4 to 6 minute mark. Doesn't appear to be happening when playing through the player set up on the pi. No issues at all when streaming FLAC directly through the Deezer app on the same PC. Everything is wired. Does anyone have any suggestions? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
That is indeed a quirk of how things are joined together. The plugin is not directly involved in the streaming of the content. All it knows (today) is that the playing is playing or not. When it is playing then the plugin collected the information about what is playing from the remote source and, for the most part, all it can determine is what the remote site says is playing ... but the remote site is unaware that the player was paused for seconds, minutes or hours. Press once on fast forward/next to catch up with the live stream and all should be well. The attached beta plugin files implement the ability to update the active AVR Quick Select definition from the client plugin menu using the current audio settings. The specific settings that are saved with the Quick Select definition seem to vary with different AVR model lines so you may find that not all of those available in the plugin menu are saved. For instance with my 2011 model, the restorer mode isn't saved. Consult your owner's manual for more details. As part of the plugin's client menu extension, this function is only available for players using the main AVR zone and only supported for clients that fully implement the plugin's menu -- at this time, Squeezer (Android) and iPeng (iOS). It has not yet been tested with iPeng as I have no iOS devices. Here is a screenshot of the new Quick Select menu on Squeezer. Note the smaller font on the second line of the menu entry. If you test this, let me know whether the font looks like that on your device. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Hi Paul; I noticed a repeatable quirk in listening to JB Radio 2 (FLAC) via RNP. I have not tried the other stations but will. I don't mind at all that this happens, as it's trivial (to me), but I thought you would like it reported: This happens on a touch. 1) Listen, artwork and artist song info are correct, then pause in the middle of a song. Last night a Richard Thompson song was playing 2) Wait a period of time greater than one song... 3) Resume - the richard thompson song (audio) resumes, but with new artist/album art and info. I assume it's what is currently supposed to play. This morning it was Neil Finn. So RT song with Neil Finn on the display. 4) When the song completes (or maybe the play buffer empties?), the player goes to stop (not rebuffering or anything), then off (clock screensaver) 5) When I start it back up, song and display are in sync, everything is fine. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Beta 0.0.19c (via non-published repo) - Add JazzRadio.fr and their 30+ themed channels Turns out that jazzradio.fr uses the same underlying song metadata structure as RadioEspace / Allzic radio ... not a big surprise as I looked a bit more deeply and saw that they have the same owner. Strange thing is that jazzradio fails to show song data on their web site, apart from the main broadcast channel. I also found their XML file that lists of the stations and some attributes - so I moved to use that rather than my hand-crafted list. Having found that file, I then looked for something similar on RadioEspace and found it ... so switched to that as well. Listeners would already have been getting artist & song info because it is in the embedded stream metadata ... but now with this plugin they will get the cover art that the station uses themselves plus where there is no art (they do not have it for all) and provided I can spot that they have provided a placeholder image, then I do a coversearch and fairly frequently find one. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I've noticed some issues lately with my devices appearing on my iPhone in the airplay selections. I have 4 devices (Touch, Radio, Classic, and Polyvection DAC32), and lately I have to do a "Re-Publish" action in the LMS settings in order to get the 3 logitech devices to show up. The DAC32 is always listed, but for the other 3 Logitech devices, it seems like at least every day require the "Re-Publish" action for me to see them on the phone. Not sure exactly when this started, but at least a month ago I noticed it. No issues with Airplay streaming once the device is found. Any suggestions or thoughts on whether I need to update a setting so that this isn't required? superstar19's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59363 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Uart RaspPi
I don't know specific about Pi but generally serial on Linux To use a serial interface on a Linux box - 2 option. 1. Dumb async terminals mode tty. 2. SLIP - TCP/IP over a serial link. I think dumb terminal would be simplest. Serial line could be setup so user could then login with a shell. Then user could any of the usual command line stuff to communicate with LMS (e.g. CURL command to POST/GET JSON request to get info / do command) Alternative could be to use CLI interface to LMS (i.e. telnet localhost 9090) but I think is is deprecated so may have limited functionality. Look at LMS WebUI Help -> Technical Information > The Logical Media Command Line interface The help provides details (maybe a bit out of date) on CLI and JSON. For CLI it says > the Logitech Media Server provides a command-line interface to the > players via TCP/IP. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Uart RaspPi
RPi not RS232 ... and if you connected the serial port pins directly to RS232 device then you could damage the RPi. The RPi pins are 3.3v and RS232 is 5V and 12V ... expect major problems if you simply wire them together. You can get an adapter or connect via USB. However, I do not know of a built-in way to control or get song info out of that port. I expect that it could be done if you write some software (or find someone to do it for you). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LastMix Plugin and Squeezelite v1.9.9-1372-pCP Player Not Working
Hi I am reviving this thread as the problem seems to have started occurring again. I have one RPi with a JustBoom DAC Hat running PiCorePlayer 8.1.0 and Squeezelite v1.9.9-1392-pCP. DSTM is enabled however it often doesn't "kick-in" for this one player. Restarting my lms docker container will cause this player to work with DSTM for a bit and then it will stop working. Other players I have in my home (RPi with HiFiBerry Zero DAC, and RPi with PHAT Beat HAT) with the same versions of PCP and Squeezelite work without issue. Looking at the server logs (even with debug level) doesn't seem to show anything, when it is not working. Any ideas what I can check to resolve my issue? Thanks in advance. bobcoupee's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70646 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114385 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
