[SlimDevices: Plugins] Browsing from Sonos and streaming to Roon Ready Devices
With the UPnPBridge, CastBridge and AirPlay Bridge, I am able to use LMS to stream to most devices at home. Thanks Philippe and everyone else who supports this wonderful community. As the title suggests, I have 2 questions: 1) I can stream to Sonos using both the UPnPBridge and the AirPlay Bridge, but I can't browse LMS from Sonos (which would be nice to have, though not a deal breaker in any way). Subsonic and a few other media servers (Plex?) have the ability to be browsed from Sonos controllers. Can this functionality be added to the UPnPBridge or a separate Sonos plugin? 2) While everyone seems to be drooling over Roon, I don't see any great advantage of Roon over LMS with all the plugins installed. I can stream from all the services I care about, I can stream to most devices at home, and I've been using MusicIP integration for as long as I can remember, and I certainly don't think think Roon sounds better in any way. That said, there are an increasing number of devices that are Roon Ready, and it would be nice to be able to stream to them straight from LMS. Would it be possible to build an LMS plugin to stream to RoonReady devices, using the RAAT protocol? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi, I have used this plugin in the past and my Win10 PC running Foobar2000 would show as a Squeezebox player under LMS. However, now it is no longer showing and I'm not sure why? It shows as a Upnp player under J. River, but not LMS. LMS does show other Upnp players though (Sonos and Yamaha receivers). Not sure why Foobar2000 is no longer showing under LMS, but I'd love to get it back. It's kinda driving me crazy... mondo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=45243 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
With respect this discussion should move to the MAI thread. Material just displays what MAI gives it but bear this in mind - the number of name variations in classical music is enormous. Even if MAI could cope with Composer in the way that you ask you would have to ensure that your tags matched the name as used by AllMusic eg is it Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, WA Mozart or W.A. The only solution to this, for AMG, would be for LMS / MAI to have the ability to use an AMG ID for these entities. Then, you'd be able to tag your files appropriately with the correct IDs for Album, Artist, Composer, etc. MAI could skip the search portion, and instead directly grab the appropriate URL. The override would enable users to quickly correct false hits by MAI. This is how my MCUtils tools work. Code: $ amg -VV --inc '/id$/' *** 2.6: filename: /Users/MrC/Desktop/Temp/MCUtils_TestFiles/7231537/2.6.mp3 albumartistid: <__CLEAR__> amgartistid: mn346336 amgid: mw195292 amgmid: mw195292 amgrid: composerid: mn582930 tid: mt0042077674 workid: But I think this would require additional work on LMS. The reason you have a problem with Spotty and MAI is that Spotty groups all the artists together which doesn't correspond with All Music. Albums are hard to identify as many have the same names. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Hi Ziggy. I'm a bit confused by your message. Why are you syncing your Home with your Squeezebox? Does LMS run your Home if it is not synced to your Squeezebox (i.e. as a stand alone independent player)? Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Lounge: Naim NDX with Touch as controller, Naim NAP 180, NAC 82, NAPSC, HiCap, Shahinian Arc speakers Kitchen/outside: Chromecast audio, Azatom iBigBoy 2 (500W) And... SB+, radios & tons of Chromecasts... all run from LMS and controlled via Material Skin on any nearby device and a couple of Touchs. I listen to a fair amount of classical music but my circumstances might not be typical and almost certainly not the same as the person making the original request. The tags of my local files are not very good and mostly I listen via Michael's Spotty plugin. In both my cases the MAI plugin doesn't really return anything useful about the composer the artist or the individual track but i might be able to offer a view. Here's a case in point from spotify. 37247 I can find the information about this recording on All Music which I believe is the MAI source. https://www.allmusic.com/album/dvo%C5%C3%A1k-cello-concerto-mw0003403761 I'd be grateful if the MIA returned anything more than than the album art so a link to this all music page would be perfect. Hi, I have added the plugin on LMS which is running on my windows server and it reports it is working in setting. I have set my squeezebox to sync with my Google Home, when you play you hear a beep on the GH and again is you pause the Squeezebox the GH beeps but no sound. I have checked Google Home on my android phone and it reports the song that should be paying but it's not. Also, although the squeezbox plays it does stop every few minutes. ziggyuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72590 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
The problem with the suggestion, as I see is, is that if the Composer field were used for MAI then the biography material for the actual performers would presumably not be seen. I have to include the Composer as part of the artist info so that I can see all. Unfortunately tagging classical music necessitates constant workarounds. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] ARD Audiothek Plugin - Browse and listen content of the ARD Audiothek
Hi @mzedd; since very recently, something with your ARD Audiothek plugin seems not to work anymore: When following this (std.) path in LMS (Material or std. skin): "Hauptmenü > ARD Audiothek > Rubriken > Hörspiel & Lesung > Alle Sendungen" The list is empy / no podcasts are listed. The same applies most of the other 'Rubriken', i.e. Kinder. (But not for all...) If I check the native ARD Audiothek App, and go to 'Rubriken' and then 'Alle Sendungen aus dieser Rubrik' (i.e. for 'Hörspiel & Lesung') all expected entries are there. Since they just updated their (iOS) App yesterday, I assume they changed something on their end which is causing the describe problem. (Also, I have a Phone which runs still their (ARDs) older App and that also shows related problems...) -> Could you have a look into this? I hope this is fixable, as your plugin has become my #1 entry point into 'non-music' streaming via LMS. I would imagine that the internal DAC in an M1 Macbook is OK but I would also imagine that you will see (hear) an improvement with a decent USB DAC such as the Dragonfly. It should work with a Macbook with a suitable adaptor but again I'd say take the Macbook, adaptor and headphones to Richer Sounds to make sure. There are cheaper USB DACs available but the Dragonfly is very highly rated in Audiophile circles. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Apesbrain has asked, in a private message, if Material could show composer info, and not artist, info for Classical music. This seems like a reasonable request, but I'm not 100% sure. Material has a (server side) setting to list a set of genres where Material should display the composer tag. e.g. if a track had a genre that was in this set, then the now-playing and queue would show the composer as well as artist. No I -could- use this setting to also mean 'show composer in MAI view, not artist' Would this be acceptable? Are there cases where you'd want composer displayed in now-playing and queue, but show the artist info in MAI view? I dont really want to add another setting just for this, or have a toggle in the MAI view to switch artist/composer. *Material debug:* 1.
