[SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng on iPhone, aynchronised players - control
Hi Can somebody help me understand synchronised player on iPeng please? I have several SB3 players in the house, and I have two synchronised players (kitchen and lounge). Anything I play on one, plays on the other. This has all worked really well for the last 15 or so years. No issues there. But I've typically used remote controls, and those are now starting to fail. The two players show "synchronised" on iPeng, as expected. However there seems to be no way to control the power or the volume -independently -when they are synchronised. Here's my problem. My remote controls do sometimes work, and other people in the house might turn the volume up or down on an individual player, or they might power one off. I then come to play music and a player is off, but I have no way to switch it on, that i can see? I press the power control button on iPeng and the other player goes off. Press it again and both then come on as expected. What am I missing please? Using iPeng, how can I control the power and volume, on an individual player in a synchronised player set? My players are synchronised solely for playing music. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
It's also not a problem of CPU cycles, though. It's a problem of bandwidth. If I convert to FLAC bandwidth doubles, at a minimum. And I have an endpoint that is unfortunately at the edge of my wifi bubble. We're talking about _kilo_bits, not megabits. That shouldn't be a problem, or you should re-consider your wifi setup. Why is Custom-convert.conf referring to a spotty-ogg executable that doesn't exist? Can you check the output of "spotty.exe -x"? It should have "ogg-direct:true". Spotty (the plugin) would replace "spotty-ogg" with just "spotty" if ogg-direct was enabled. I've experienced the same behaviour with 8.2.1. If you have the Prefer native format (decoding on the player) whenever possible option checked in file types spotty sends flac to the player and pcm when unchecked. However, with an LMS 8.3 nightly, spotty sends ogg when the option is enabled. Not sure how easy to share the "shortcut" to others. One of the reason I Not easy, from what I understand. Plus: in order for some parts (eg. request to LMS) to be re-usable, I split the workflows up into several workflows... maybe there's smarter ways to do this. But I've ended up with five of them! I am fine with the way it is, but in the interest of @SamY's question, what about "more" pulling up three items - play on LMS, Queue on LMS, and "change player". If you choose "change" it allows selection from the list, and returns you to back to the three selections. This way, those who don't want to change the player don't have additional taps. As an alternative, I don't know the specifics of what @SamY is looking for, but I do this: I have three often used players always synced, with the LMS sync option "power on/off separately". This way I have LMS connect set to one, choose, then "play on LMS", then power on the player(s) I am listening to at the time. The only thing that does not address is if you want to play different music on different players. Technically that's possible. Actually when I first developed this app, I have thought about an alternative way: only one sharing icon, after tapping the sharing icon, open a pop-up window to choose actions ( play now, add to next or add to end ...) and target players, but maybe just too many taps, so I killed that idea. I am also experiencing the same reported issue since a few days (Location: Germany): When selecting a playlist for playback trough spotty, it keeps skipping through all tracks - no playback at all. The setup was rock solid before, but all over sudden no playback anymore. So we now have one report from Germany and Austria each, and many more out of Denmark. I still believe this must be some geographical hiccup on Spotify's side. Could all of you report what you'd get in http://apresolve.spotify.com/? It should return a list of servers librespot would use to communicate with Spotify. Maybe there's a pattern? What ISPs are you using? Maybe it's a problem with one network?
