Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

Hi Craig,

Amazing work with Material. Been using it since the beginning. Is it
possible to add a scaled down apple watch view? Material pulls up on
the watch but there is too much going on for it to work properly.

Thanks!

Gary

Yes would need to be much simpler. The default LMS interface pulls up
properly but everything is so small. The zoom feature on the watch
doesn't work well with it so it's unusable. I thought the ios protocols
would be similar to the phone but sounds like maybe its not.

Hi,

When I go the 1812+ LMS Update link it only has the LMS Repack version.
Is there an LMS Updagte version available?

Hi Pinkdot,

I updated to 8.0 and everything works but my cpu is getting hammered.
LmsUpdate is using 25% of my cpu and my RAM climbed slowly to above 70.
If I stop the package things go back to normal.

Thanks. Seems better now. I'm still getting a notification that there

Is it normal for LMS to be using 429mb of memory on my synology? The
next closest thing is docker at 69mb. I have an 1812+. Slimserver.pl
has spikes in cpu usage too. Goes from 0% to 20% randomly every 15
seconds or so

Using the latest I believe 8.0-1593258969. I do use the Airplay bridge
with Spotty so yes to transcoding. Another user just posted that it
uses a similar amount of memory. I also have LMS integrated into Home
Assistant so it might be polling LMS which would explain the cpu spikes.
Why is LMS in general so memory intensive? I assume it can't run in
docker?

Yeah 3GB are the max for the 1812+. Definintely seems to be eating more

Not sure if this was the intent or a bug but if I start a playlist in
Spotty in desktop view and then go into into the same playlist or
another playlist in Spotty and scroll through the albums covers when I
scroll enough that it needs to load more it automatically changes what
is playing. Also if I bring up a playlist when nothing is playing and
scroll enough to where it needs to load more songs it also just starts
playing. Was this intended? Thanks for all the work on this. It's

Synchronize doesn't work. At least for me it doesn't. Can there be an

Is it possible to have the option in the desktop view on the left side
to have something simliar to the mobile view? Maybe you could toggle
between the current menu and the mobile view or something similar to the
mobile view? You lose the "eye-candy" in the desktop view. Also in the
mobile view can the background be similar to what happens in the music
and artist info screen where it zooms into the album cover in the
background? I have keypads around my house and they display like this.
It just adds a little something that looks good. See below 2nd pic.

Now playing background looks great! Is there a way to reconfigure the

move the coverart to one side and the words to other so they can be
sized properly? Happy holidays and thanks!

You need to find the plugin location of where you have material
installed on LMS. I have it installed on a synology NAS so for me its

\\diskstation\appstore\SqueezeCenter\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\MaterialSkin

you then need to download the zip from Craigs github repo from here
https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material

then use WINRAR or compatible program to extract files in the
MaterialSkin folder ONLY (you have to click through two folders to get
there in the zip) to your location of where the plugin is installed.

Jasell is correct. On the iphone the time gets cut off on the left side
but the whole screen is used. The right side seems fine for me. Also
when you try to change the player in the top left corner you have to
touch the song title and not the player name for the menu to come up.

On my surface pro in desktop mode the time is too close to the player
buttons on the bottom left. See pic below...

You could use the group players plugin and create the synced players
there and then use Alexa no?

I'm pretty close to getting this working. I've got everything in Home
Assistant and I can change songs, pause, etc. However the shell scripts
aren't working I don't think. I have home assistant installed on a
synology NAS using docker. The home assistant folder is accessible
through the web folder which allows you to access through windows. Do I
have the shell scripts installed in the correct place? They are located
under /volume1/web/HomeAssistant/shell. How do I test the scripts? I
tried to follow thetroubleshooting but not sure how to do it. I used
putty to get the /volume1/web/HomeAssistant/shell folder and tried to
run the commands but they didn't work. It came back with -sh: bash-4-4#:
command not found. No idea if I'm doing this correctly. Thanks for the
help and for creating this!

Getting closer. I created a cert via lets encrpyt and then exported
them and placed them in my homeassistant folder where my
configuration.yaml file is. I can access home assistant via https.
This query is giving me the following error. Im guessing maybe because
I exported the certificates and exported them to the folder where my
configuration.yaml file is?

curl (60) SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer

I’m using the using the home assistant package available on synology

Ok. I did the symlink from nc to ncat and that fixed the 'nc' issue. I
still can't figure out the certificate issue. I've created it
successfully in synology using let's encrypt but for some reason its not

Hi Ynot,

I've made some progress I think. I've fixed the certificate issue but
I'm not getting the expected results. Is there anything else I can try?
I haven't entered anything in my confirguration.yaml file for the http
section. If I do I get an error trying to login into home assistant.
Without it I can access via https using my duckdns domain.

Hi Kalimeroo,

All this is new to me so please bear with me. Should I just SSH into

Oh man. I am such a fool. I went way to far down the rabbit hole on
this one. Obviously that song wasn't in my LMS database. I picked one
that was and got the expected results. I will investigate the spotify
query when I am home later. Also I am still having issues with the
play, pause and next track buttons not showing up. I did a full install
a few times and had issues with that. In post #118 I showed a pic of
what I am seeing and the code I see in the files. Is that correct?
THANK YOU for the help. In return I will put together a guide for
synology users as it was a real pain to get the SSL certificate
installed.

Awesome. This is now fixed as well after creating the scripts directory
and placing the files in there. Thanks again. One more thing I noticed
I used to have a toggle button next to LMS Music Player Controls in the

Ok I've tested from the Home Assistant GUI and the only thing I can get
to work is populating Artist name with the music source as LMS and then
choosing play artist. Nothing else works. Nothing from Spotify. I've
checked all of the shell scripts to see if they work from putty and they
do. I still haven't put anything in the configuration.yaml file under
http. I'll mess around with it now to see if it makes a difference but
anytime I put anything in there it gives me an error when trying to
login,

Still no luck. The play, restart and advance buttons work. In my

Under environment variables I see this

The only way I know how to get to the shell directory is the full path
of /volume1/web/docker/homeassistant/shell When I type in the command
docker exec -it home-assistant bash it goes to /usr/src/app

It seems I've done something wrong in the initial setup?

I tried the full path and yes this is where I copied the shell scripts.
Also tried chmod 777 on /config/shell and still no good :-(. When I
login as root (su) and go to the /config/shell folder the script files
are there. I tried to run it and it failed though. See pic. When you
run the chmod command should anything happen. It just goes back to the
prompt. I ran chmod 777 -R /config/shell. Might be time to start over
and give it one last shot. What command do you use to install home
assistant in docker? Maybe starting fresh with the proper command will
yield benefits. This is what I used.

sudo docker run --name home-assistant --restart=always --net=host
--privileged -itd -v /volume1/web/docker/homeassistant:/config -v
/usr/syno/etc/certificate:/certificate --device /dev/ttyACM0
homeassistant/home-assistant:latest

I can't install HASSIO on synology only the regular home assistant...

I appreciate you taking the time. If anyone has installed on a synology
which folder did you use to install it? I used the web folder which
give access to other devices. Maybe that was my mistake?

I'll give it a shot. Before I do I see this in the LMS log.

Slim::Utils::Scanner::scanPathOrURL (54) Error: No path or URL was

I tried the install you sent me and the same behavior. There is one
difference. The sensors on the main page of home assistant are
updating. When actioning from the HA gui i get null but when doing it
manually through putty as you describe in the trouble shooting section
they update properly. As I'm using !include_dir_merge_named scripts I
created a scripts folder. Inside is a scripts.yaml that is empty and
the script_lms_controls.yaml file. That is correct right?

No this one isn't docker so I'm actually not 100% sure what the path
should be. I've been messing around with it trying to get it to work.
The .yaml files are located at
/volume1/@appstore/homeassistant/var/config. I created a soft link for
@appstore to appstore so I could access it. I put the shell folder
there under config. I tried that path and it didn't work. The user is
a system internal user and I gave read/write access. I ran the fiels
through the converter. Here is a pic of what I see. The user I believe
is sc-homeassistant which was created during the install

the gui using spotfy it worksbut only those two commands. So I

It wound up being the whole path for me starting with /volume1/ but this
is for the non docker community version you pointed me to. I’ll put
something together. DialogFlow working too. Tested a few commands and
it’s working. Have to look into some of the additional automation now
too. I’ll probably have some questions there. Thanks again.

Just curious. I'd rather have HA running in docker as the version is
always updated. The syno community package isn't. I made a little
progress where if I run a spotify command in putty it will update the
sensors and they appear in HA updated. I'm pretty sure its a path issue
now. I see this in the log Error running command: `bash
/volume1/web/docker/homeassistant/shell/spot_art_top.sh {{text1}}`,
return code: 127

12:36 AM /usr/src/app/homeassistant/components/shell_command.py (ERROR)

I tried /config and /.config for the path as well and no luck. Any
other last ditch ideas? Otherwise I will stick with the non docker
package for now. Thanks!

Very frustrating. It says its /config. How do I elevate the user to
root? I'm not even of the user name that docker uses. Is there a way
to use putty to get to the docker container path of /config? I've used
the docker exec command but it brings me to usr/src/app and I can't see
/config anywhere.

Ok docker exec command worked and /config/shell worked and the the shell
scripts are there. When I try to execute through the HA gui the first
time after restarting the container no matter what I enter for Artist
name or song the sensors appear but every time its the supertramp
breakfast in america in the sensors. And it seems to only update that
one time if I try to enter something else. This is going to be
something dumb I am doing. Just don't know what...

This has to be all docker container related. The synology community
package I installed that you sent me I had none of these issues. I also
had to chance NC to NCAT to get the LMS shell scripts to work. The
container wasn’t honoring the symlink I made from NC to NCAT. I double
checked and it’s there. I will see if I can install JQ. Docker seems
like a real pain on synology. Almost there it seems though...

Hi Ynot,

I've upgraded to the new version and everything went fairly smooth. One
question I have is on playlists. LMS controls doesn't seem to recognize
my Spotify playlists. When I ask it to play a playlist through Spotify
it queues up music but its all random. It's not the actual playlist I
asked for that is saved in Spotify. This is true when I'm using voice
or typing it in directly in HA.

Hmm...This sort of works for me. I got it to work with one playlist but
it doesn't recognize any others. Maybe my query isn't perfect. I
created Gary's Party and Rock. It recognizes the first but not the
second. Tried a couple different things too and only the first one
works. Query is bash qry_playlist.sh rock and it returns null. I can
type in Ga only for the Gary;s Party playlist and it finds it.

Ah. You can tell how often I have used an LMS playlist. It certainly
works. I would think most would like to have the spotify playlists
available from spotty. Spotty is already limited in that you can't
create a playlist using it. You have to create it in the Spotify app.
Just my opinion of course. I see you have done thousands of lines of
coding so I understand the time you have in this thing. By no means a
deal breaker.

I have a weblink in HA that goes to the LMS materrial skin. I also have
an ipad mounted to the wall. Is there a way to have google assistant
open the weblink if I ask it to play music in the kitchen or do I have

use multiple apps it would be nice to know which one is the active one.
No big deal if you can't do it.

Go to Craig’s github page in the first post and all the previous version
are there to download. Then you can manually overwrite the the existing
plugin where LMS is installed.

I just updated to HA 0.87.1 and I'm getting this error

I downloaded the new lmscontrols.yaml file for the time pattern change.
Is there something else I was supposed to do?

Hi Craig. Fantastic job once again on what you have done. It really is
great. Thanks. Is it possible to expose the sync options in a better
way? I use the group players plugin and it works great but sometimes I
find myself wanting to add just one player. I have quite a few players
and the process currently requires a bunch of steps. Tap the player,
scroll down to manage players, scroll to the player you want, tap again,
select player, etc. Is it possible to have the sync option on the main
page? Maybe just have a sync button and you can choose from there?
iPeng handles this better in a way that you can simply drag and drop
players and they sync.

I just tested and it works but here is what I'm seeing. I played a song

another song the Spotify app doesn't think its playing anything. It's
still connected via spotify connect but the app itself doesn't pull up
the song currently being played anymore nor can I bring up my available
players in the Spotify app. I can tap another song and it will skip to
it and start playing but the controls within the app have disappeared.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alexa & LMS with Ha-Bridge

2017-12-26 Thread grimmace92

I just wanted to report I was able to get Alexa to work with LMS and
Spotty. I use Ha-bridge on my synology NAS along with LMS. Ha-bridge
accepts http commands and acts as a phillips hue emulator. You have on,
off and dim functions which you can program to whatever you want. For
example for proof of concept I named my command Spotify in the Kitchen
and say "Alexa, Turn on Spotify in the Kitchen". My http command is for
my playlist I listen to most and she turns it on perfectly. Thanks to
Michael for help with the url. Here is the example of what I used in
Ha-bridge

http://youripaddress:port/anyurl?player=MACaddressofplayer&p0=playlist&p1=play&p2=spotify:user:yourspotifyusername:playlist:yourplaylistid

fill in your ip address and port, mac id for your player, spotify
username and playlist ID. You get the ID from the spotify computer app
under share and then copy spotify url

You can basically create a device for anything you can do with http on
LMS. I asked Michael in the other thread I started if synchronize was
an option. This process can be tedious as you have to setup each
command per player but it works well.

Philippe,

This is brilliant. I've been trying to sync players and integrate with
Alexa and you just made my life so much easier. I can just playlist
play the group that I created in your plugin by the groups MAC address.
This is so awesome! I'll mess around with it some more tomorrow but
when the music starts its pretty loud initially. I have to turn it down
even though I have the volume at 2 in the LMS UI. I'm using your
airplay plugin too if that matters. Awesome work!

So I'm messing around with this right now and I'm using a spotty
playlist. My setup is LMS on a synology diskstation using your airplay
plugin and now you player groups plugin. I've grouped my kitchen,
living room and dining room and called it Main level. When the music
starts it starts pretty loud. What I'm seeing is the volume resets to
this loud position after every song except for the Kitchen. Kitchen
stays at whatever volume I put it at but the living room and dining room
reset after every song. I assume the Kitchen is acting as the master
here while the living room and dining room are slaves?

No I didn’t. I went and deleted the group in the LMS settings and built
it again. Before I did that I set the volume on each player lower and
that seemed to work. It’s better now. It’s not resetting the volume
after each song. I’ll test some more. This really is awesome.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Player Groups (alpha version)

2017-12-29 Thread grimmace92

I am getting some weird behavior with the volume. It seems if I use
Ipeng to raise the volume but then use the LMS gui to lower the volume
it doesn't work as expected. I think it's related to the plugin saving
the volume setting from where it left off. For example I played a track
at a volume setting of 25. I then paused it. I then lowered the volume
in the LMS gui to 2 while paused. I then hit play and it started
playing at a volume of 25. I think this is expected as that was where I
left off but the volume on the LMS GUI didn't change. It remained at 2
while the volume was actually 25. Then changing the volume on the LMS
GUI became unresponsive. Ipeng seems to work though and is responsive
when raising and lowering the volume.

I tested quickly and the volume issue I was seeing now works. I'll do
some more testing tomorrow. The volume change responds when doing it
from the LMS GUI. Even better I figured out how to change the volume
with Ha-bridge and now Alexa can do it for me :D

I ask as I'm using Ha Bridge for using Alexa and it needs the Mac

to update all the mac address inside Ha bridge. Being able to edit the

Ok. I'm trying to use ha-bridge so I can use Alexa to easily switch

8. For desktop layout, optionally show all 3 panes when showing track
info.

This looks awesome

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)

2017-09-05 Thread grimmace92

Hi,

I have a Russound xzone4 system that has separate streams each with its
own airplay with 13 in total. I'm trying to use the LMS installed on my
synology diskstation to use Spotty, LMS and this airplay bridge to have
multiroom audio with Spotify. I have everything installed and have
gotten it to work but have run across a few issues. The first is that
after some time if not used the airplay renderers disappear. In the log
it will say something like renderer disconnected renderer removed for
each of them. The only way to bring them back is to restart LMS. The
other issue I'm seeing is related to album coverart when using spotty.
I have Russound XTS keypads around the house that will display the
metadata and coverart for the song being played. Sometimes the coverart
will display and sometimes it won't depending on what song I choose.
What is odd is if I use the Russound app or the LMS app on my iphone the
coverart is displayed properly for all songs. I can see on the keypad
that its trying to display the coverart (quick little loading circle)
but a lot of the times it fails and just puts up a music note in its
place. The other metadata is there though. If I use the spotify app
directly and use spotify connect or airplay this issue doesn't exist.
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

My log is attached. Thanks for the help. I used ipeng here and it was
giving me issues. The kitchen player disappeared.
