Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
Thanks for the 2.9.0 and 2.10.0 improvements. Appreciating all of them. When listening live if you wish to see: Now Playing track info, Programme title and Programme description then it seems that the only way to do this is: Line 1 - Programme title Line 2 - Programme description Line 3 - Now Playing track info However it seems What Was That Tune? takes its info from Line 1 so you just get a list of the programmes you've listened to rather than the tracks that were played. If you select Track Info to Line 1 and deselect to Line 3 as here: 32857 then you lose the Programme title and Line 3 displays nothing or the name of the station as here: 32858 To get What Was That Tune? working and display all three lines of info is it possible to copy BBCiPlayer and display: Line 1 - Now Playing Track Info Line 2 - Programme Title Line 3 - Programme description 32859 Thanks. +---+ |Filename: Clipboard Image (2).jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=32859| +---+ hestbank's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63499 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Although I have reloaded the favourites as you described. Checking these against default-menu.opml downloaded from Sourceforge today shows that they are identical, as you would expect/hope. LMS runs on a Pi. The time on the LMS Server.log is correct and corresponds with the PCs viewing the Web Browser GUI and also the time displayed on the stand alone Touch. Are you using a Favorite ? > - have you customised the BBCiPlayer menu ? > - what type of player ? I am in the UK. Using the default LMS Web Browser: Home/My Apps/BBC iPlayer/Listen Live/BBC Radio 2/Play button(icon) I have tried, Radios 1, 3, 5, 6, World Service with the same results. Favourites. I have used favourites but only after using the steps above and then pasting the URL in to the box in the Favourites edit page. I haven't done anything with it for years. I have pressed the "Load menu layout from this URL" in the BBC iPlayer settings page. I have also checked that the Radio 2 URL in menu.opml is the same as the URL I can see after selecting Radio 2 by Listen Live, as above. The lack of programme title and description is the same for all three players. A: Touch Squeezelite on the Raspbery Pi (which also runs LMS) Squeezelite-X on a Windows 10 machine The lack of programme title and description is evident on both the standard Web Browser page and also in Squeeze Control on a Windows PC. The only difference between the players is that the Touch Track Info does not keep up to date. It displays the correct track when you initially go to a channel but then it is many minutes before it changes - often with a previously played track. There is then another wait of 10, 20, 30 minutes before it changes. I've not been able to work out a pattern. If you press the Forward button on the Touch display then the connection is re-established and the correct Track Info is displayed at that moment. The Web Browser and Squeeze Control interfaces for ALL players, including the Touch, DO keep up with the Track Info. However What Was That Tune does not. For instance it is showing the track playing when I switched to the channel an hour ago but nothing since until I pressed forward and re-established the connection. (It does update with tracks from My Music/Spotty.) I have tried both LMS 7.9.2 and 8.0. Max2Play 2.52 on a Pi 2 I have switched off any player synchronisation. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test
The live OnAir text which gives the name of the currently playing track, eg on BBC Radios 2, 3 and 6, seems to have stopped working properly. It has been working perfectly for me for a few months since the deselecting "Always display station icon" issue was discussed a few months ago. This is the case with all my displays eg. Touch, LMS Web Page and Squeeze Control for Windows. Sometimes in the LMS web page if I switch between Radio 2 and 6 and back again I briefly see the track name and artist but it quickly reverts to the generic programme description. Anyone else notice this? Thanks. Here are screen grabs of the LMS Web UI with the settings page alongside. You can see that on the one with "Always display station icon" enabled the currently playing song is displayed on the top line. On the one with "Always display station icon" not enabled you get a picture specifically for the programme but no information on the song being played. The result is the same on my Touch display and on Squeeze Control (Windows). Hope that helps. +---+ |Filename: Always display disabled-large.JPG| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22993| +---+ hestbank's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63499 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have been away and I am now back with my R Pi2 setup with: BBC iPlayer 1.5.4.4 Touch Squeezelite player on Max2Play 2.43 LMS 7.9.1 - 1494234793 on Max2Play 2.43 Control and display via Touch, LMS web browser and Squeeze Control (Windows). My observation is as corroborated by Slartibartfast. In the grand scheme of things it is not important. It just seems strange that by selecting the unchanging Station Icon you get the dynamically changing metadata including details of the music currently playing, but then by deselecting (unchecking) the Station Icon and getting a picture that changes with the programme you get unchanging, generic programme metadata with no dynamic updates of the music playing. Obviously this is more applicable if listening to Radios 2, 3 or 6 with content changing throughout the programme. I was just wondering if there was an easy fix. If not then this is only a cosmetic issue and not worth expending any effort. I am more than grateful for the work that keeps this whole ecosystem flourishing. Many thanks. hestbank's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63499 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
Track playing info disappears when you deselect "Always display station icon". You just get a line of generic info about the programme. Is it possible to retain the track playing info when "Always display station icon" is deselected? (I suspect there will be a very good reason why not!) Similar Artists Mix This seems to have stopped working for me in Triode's Spotify App whether I try directly from my Touch or using the Web Page of LMS 7.8.1 - 1424277835. Artist Mix works OK. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
utgg wrote: For the adventurous, I've been having a play with adding live updating text for the all the BBC radio channels - since RadioVis only provides text information for Radio1 and 1xtra. I've done this with regular http polling (every 30 seconds) of a URL that is used by the official iPlayer app for its 'onair' information. Although this isn't published as an official interface, it looks pretty 'open' to me and has been stable for two or more years, by the look of it. I can't guarantee how long this will work for, but given the speed at which the BBC are chopping and changing things, this is likely to be as stable as anything. As I've needed to touch a few files in the plugin, I'm posting a patch file (only applies to the BBCiPlayer-v1.3.1alpha3 plugin). The .patch file is for command line on linux or cygwin. Copy the file to the BBCiPlayer plugin directory, cd to that directory and type: Code: patch -p1 BBCiPlayer-v1.3.1alpha3-Onair-v0.1.patch After restarting LMS check the settings - there is an extra one called 'Show OnAir Text' which needs checking, and the 'Show Live Text' needs un-checking. 'Show Slide Show' will still work for displaying different artwork (on those channels that already had RadioVis). PS. I've also amended the menu.opml, adding a couple of missing stations and including some icon links for those that didn't have one. PPS. patch -bp1 BBCiPlayer-v1.3.1alpha3-Onair-v0.1.patch will also create a backup of the changed files. If you want to go back though, it's probably easiest just to un-install and reinstall the plugin. Edit: I've also added a zip of just the files that have changed, if the patch file is problematic for your system. Extract over the top of the existing BBCiPlayer plugin directory, replacing existing files. Make sure this includes the basic.html file which is buried in a deep path. Edit2: I've updated the .patch and .zip file to fix a bug for display on older players with VFD displays, and also adjusted the description of how to apply the .patch file, to make it clearer that this update does not just apply to linux - it will work on all platforms including windows and mac. I need to say that as I've now modified Triode's original code (which is allowable as it is GPLv2), he's in no way responsible for any problems I may have now introduced... Hi utgg Thank you so much for providing the On Air text .zip file. The disappearance of Live Text from the streams however many years ago was a real disappointment. A number of emails to BBC tech types got no where. Again, thank you so much for reinstating it. I really am in awe of the people on these forums who have now got us an improved system when so many others have completely lost theirs.
