I didn't hover over the "i" next to the option to read the message within. I figured that field was the name that was given to it as a "Spotify Device". Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Hi Michael... None that I can think about. Spotty used to work when I was using an earlier version of Spotty on 7.9.1 that worked in conjunction with a helper app that I believed was developed by Triode and you. The Windows Firewall is off on the LMS server and access to SN and other services like Pandora and Slacker are working fine. I don't believe it's being blocked as I can see the Transporter listed on my Spotify Windows and Android clients as a player. I can select the Transporter as a listening device from any of my Spotify player, but I get no sound from the Transporter or notice any changes in the Spotty interface. I'm currently using Spotty 2.3.1 is there a later version? What version of Spotty.exe should the server be running? The one on my Windows computer has a size of 3.413KB tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Hi Michael, how are you? I had not used Spotify or updated my Windows LMS server to use with my Transporter for a while. I updated to LMS 7.9.2 and when I tried to use Spotify, I noticed that the icon was gone. I noticed that there was this "new" Spotify plugin and decided to give it a try. Before doing so, I removed an old version of a Spotify helper version 1.11.1, I believe, as I notice that this new plugin had the authentication function built-in. I followed the instructions to add the Spotify device and made sure that the plugin was enabled under the player settings. Well, after a few iterations and reboots... I can't get it to work. I just needed to wait a few moments for the Revue to finish indexing he specific folder. After updating to today's SBS 7.6.1 build I connected the Revue via Whitebear and entered a search string in the keyboard that failed yesterday... "time". At first nothing showed. I walked away to get a cup of coffee and when I returned the missing albums that I was expecting to see showed up. So, the lesson I learned here is that with large libraries you need to give the Revue a few moments to catch up. I attached a picture showing the "time" search string as it appears the lower right hand corner of the screen and the list of albums that came up. +---+ |Filename: WB4.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12271| +---+ -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87559 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

AndrewFG;648624 Wrote: > But don't worry, the Whitebear is still around (and getting better all > the time), so he will fill the gap until such time as 7.7 comes (and > perhaps even longer -- who knows...) Right now Whitebear is filling more than a gap... is filling an abyss. Don't give up the good work. I have been unable to get the LMS 7.7 server with the UPnP plugin to connect even when using WMP from a laptop running Win7. Whitebear is the only UPnP server on SBS that's working for me. I've been trying to connect the Logitech Media Player (LMP) from my new $99 Revue to a LMS server, but it fails to connect. I decided to test my Revue using the Whitebear Media server and it works. I have been running Whitebear on my production SBS 7.6.x for a while and have been using it with WMP occasionally. As a matter of fact, it works very well with the Logitech Revue, but with a few glitches that might actually be related to the LMP. Im able to navigate my FLAC library folders using LMP and play tracks, albums and even playlists from the Revue. The one problem I ran across, so far, is that using the Revue keyboard Im not able to narrow down the search within a folders as I enter letters on the keyboard. It narrows the search for some tracks and folders, but for some reason not for others. I attached a couple pictures that shows the Revue connected to the Whitebear Media server showing some the folder navigation and the Now Playing screen. I know its bit of a waste to use a FLAC Library and SBS to play music using the Revue and TV, but this library is a media source that's already setup to stream. Im trying to setup a simple environment for my wife to play some music. She just cant deal with complexities of my SB3 setup. To simplify things I tried using the Revue with a USB attached drive that holds a copy of my music library in high rate MP3 format along with pictures and videos. But.. believe or not when I connect the USB drive to the Revue... LMP finds the music, but in the current release either the LMP or the Revue firmware does not support tags from media files in USB attached drives. Thats right it supports tags from media streamed remotely, but not from local sources. Ill continue play with LMS and to wait for updates to fix the connection problems that Im currently having. I understand that the priority in these forums is to discuss the issues of SBS/LMS as it relates to Squeezeboxes, but eventually other UPnP DLNA players will have to be given some attention. The installation screens of LMS 7.7 already show a Revue along with squeezeboxes. So it should be safe to say that, eventually, LMS will officially support the Revue. Maybe not with the current Revue Android 2.1 platform, but when the Honeycomb 3.1 firmware for the Revue is release. So, I'll be Whitebearing it until I can see better functionality from the USB attached drives or get better support from LMS. Again, thanks for developing and maintaining Whitebear. +---+ |Filename: WB3.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12264| +---+ -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87559 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP - stopped analyzing
If I recall correctly, if the MusicIP server is down or if there is no existing fingerprint in the MusicIP server for the track that you're trying to analyze... the local machine analyzes the track, creates a fingerprint, tags the track with that fingerprint. and then uploads the resulting fingerprint to the MusicIP server (If the server is up). This process takes a considerable amount of time. If the server is up and the fingerprint for the track you want to analyze already exist in the MusicIP database, the analyzing process takes considerable less time, because all the MusicIP client has to do is download the fingerprint from the server and tag the track. The time it takes the local computer to analyze, tag and upload the fingerprint also depends on speed of the computer, the length of the track and the speed of your connection. Note that when the server is down, not only does it take longer to analyze tracks, but it also stumps the growth of the database that helps MusicIP streamline the process and new fingerprints can not be uploaded for subsequent use for other users. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87054 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.73
I'm still having problems with Track and Artist name Info with accented characters in the Player panel of Moose 7.3a running on the latest builds SBS 7.6. The Album names are displayed correctly in the player panel even if they have accented characters. The Track, Album and Artist names info are displayed correctly in the library listing panel and in the cover chooser. I think I read somewhere in the forum that the method for retrieving the album art was modified in 7.6. Maybe this modification is affecting Moose. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76700 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.73
While playing with the most recent SC 7.6 builds I experienced some issues with foreign characters during the pre-caching artwork process of the scanner. For some reason this does not affect the album descriptions or Album Art in the SC Web UI, but it affects Moose. Using 7.6 all the tracks with names with foreign characters are now displayed with weird characters in Moose 7.3a. This was not the case with earlier builds. I started a thread about this issue in the Beta section of the forum, but I have yet to get an answer. Does Moose gets its Album and Track info using a different method than that used by the SC Web UI? If so, why doesn't it use the same method? -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76700 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

My understanding is that the server is only used to speed up the analysis process. If the track you're trying to analyze is already in the server then it sends you an identifier and the analysis data. If the track is not in the server then using the MusicIP client your computer analyzes the data (a longer process) and sends the analysis results to the server so that subsequent user that need to analyze the same track avoid the long analysis process. In other words, I thought that the MusicIP client could work independent of the server. Of course, anylizing a big library, from scratch, in stand-alone mode would take a very, very long time. I've have been backing up the analysis data (default.m3lib) as I thought this would spare me from ever having to analyze my library from scratch again. I did not embed the signatures in my FLAC files as MusicIP has forever been in beta. Are you saying that the MusicIP server massages the analyzed data further once the local process is done and that without the server any MusicIP client analysis is useless? If this is the case, then the more reason for Logitech to license this service. I understand that the squeezeteam is going through a lot of changes, but MusicIP licensing should be on the list of to-dos for next year. If the owners of the MusicIP servers generate "some" revenue from the existing server(s), then they'd have an incentive to keep the service running. It's almost a month since my last post about Sugarcube and extended characters on 7.4. I understand that it's not supported on 7.4, but almost a month ago there was a ray of hope when the source of the problem "appeared" to have been identified. A thread in the Developers forum was started to try to find and fix the problem... but there has been no follow up. So, I guess that there is nothing being done about it. With 7.3 and 7.4 I still have a re-buffering issue with the first track that's played. When SugarCube is enabled the first track pauses and then restarts while SugarCube fetches or tries to fetch the next track. It does not happen with subsequent tracks. I believe that it's timing issue between MusicIP and SugarCube. I was trying not to bring these issues up again, but voicing my grievances here and hoping that they're fixed is the only thing I can do. Btw, are these SugarCube issues going to be fixed for SC releases beyond 7.4 or is 7.3 the last supported SC release? -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49226 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spicefly Sugarcube revisited
Ok, I just tested using today's 28459 build and SugarCube still fails when the seed track or next track has extended characters in its path/filename. But... MusicIP mixes are now working correctly. The resulting playlists include tracks with extended characters. The resulting mix can be generated from a seed that has extended characters and this seed track is included as the first track in the playlist. This was not the case before revision 28457 inluced in build 28459. Well, there is still something wrong here... maybe more than one thing changed after SC 7.4 build 26558 that broke both MusicIP and SugarCube. What I don't know is if the change that was made that broke SugarCube was a change that required the SugarCube plugin to be modified to comply with a new approach of the new builds or if this change actually broke something that SugarCube used to support extended characters. MusicIP and SugarCube work fine with extended characters in the paths/filenames on 7.4 builds prior to the SQLite switch. The last build on which everything was working fine was SC 7.4 MySQL build 26558. Looking at the 7.4 change log it looks like in revision 28457 Michael made a change that "appears" to address this issue. In other words, if the next track that MusicIP selects has no extended characters in its path/filename SugarCube continues to work without any issues. But you sure can use MusicIP without it. > > -- > > Michael Well, maybe this information could be useful: This is how I seee it at a high level. The difference between MusicIP and SugarCube is that with MusicIP one can "manually" create an intelligent playlist with a predetermined number of tracks based on a "single" seed (track). While SugarCuge (when enabled) "automatically" creates an endless playlist where the next track is selected by MusicIP based on currently playing track. In essence the resulting playlists from SugarCube are based on "multiple" seeds. The mood of a playlist generated using MusicIP will closely follow the mood of the seed track while the mood of a SugarCube playlist will eventually diverge from the mood of the seed track. Looks like apples and oranges, but SugarCube is "dependent" on the intelligence of the MusicIP engine to select the next track to the playlist. Here is some more info that might help: There are to methods to "validate" one's library using MusicIP. One is with embedded MusicIP tags that hold the validation info and the other is by using a reference file (default.m3lib) which holds an index of tracks with their corresponding MusicIP validation info. Because MusicIP is/was in Beta I choose to use the index file method. If I decide to change the location of my music library I have to reflect that change in the default.m3lib file for MusicIP to continue to work. I still don't know if adding the MusicIP tags to my library might affect the way it works with SC or other media players/servers. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67592 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

SC 7.4 fails to add the tracks that MusicIP selects to play next to the playlist. This issue was solved with SC 7.3 with MySQL a while back, but it has raised its ugly head once again. A bug has been filed, but it has not been addressed. I'm almost 100% sure that it's an SC <-> MusicIP issue, but it definitely affects SugarCube. The other bug that still around with 7.3 and 7.4 is that Fast Forwarding a track using the progress bar of the Web UI user panel while SugarCube is enable adds another track to the playlist. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67219 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.71 (win frontend)
Installing the dll from 1.0.61 binaries also solved most of the issues I was having with the SQLite builds. But... when I sort the covers view by artist or by album I still find several album covers that are associated with the wrong artist. The artist associated with these covers are not in any of tags of any of the tracks for the specific albums. Also the sorting order of the artists and albums do not match the Squeezebox server Web UI sorting order. What tags are you using to build the sorting order? Even when I look at the order of the albums via the Server/Albums (All) and some of the other view options the sorting order is not consistent. The first albums listed in the (All) view does not match the view I get when I click to see the (First 100) view. The Library/Artist view shows (All)296, but I have over 800 albums. Expanding this view is also not consistent with the expanded sorted order of the Library/Artist view. I don't think the explanation of my issues above is very clear, but I hope you get the idea. A couple requests: Can you also gives us a way to sort by Album Artist tag? I have many albums that have tracks from various artists, but the albums are from one specific artist. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.71 (win frontend)
I started testing moose 0.71 with the new SQLite build running on an XP server. In order to be able to copy and rescan the library I had to share the Squeezebox Server Cache folder and entered the path to that shared folder as the SQLite data source. Is this the correct way? 1. Is there an equivalent SQL$ hidden share in XP when it's running an instance of SQLite? 2. I selected to copy the SQLited db locally, but when I click to rescan tbe moose library the progress bar window comes up, but no progress is reflected. (The album covers and progress bar display as expected when I rescan the thumbnails from cache) 3. After the scan is finished I end up with several albums with multiple album covers in the Album Cover view. All the duplicate covers lists all the tracks in the album when I select Play Track. Btw, the Tree view of shows the correct number of covers per album and so does the SC Web UI. 4. I think I mentioned this before, the order of the tracks in the Play Track view when I right click an Album cover is not in order after "some" rescans. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63593 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I guess no changes have been made yet in the SWT code to accommodate the new SQLite builds? Is there an ETA for the support of SQLite builds? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Squeezebox Server 7.4 beta versions of erlands plugins
Great news!... I was not going to install the SQLite builds of SC until your plugins became available. Best of both > worlds! > > Thanks > > Bob I have also been using SugarCube via Dynamic Playlist to avoid navigating my SB3 menu to the SugarCube enable/disable options, but I think it would be nice if SugarCube could be turned on from any track in the library. Currently when I press+hold the Play key on any track in my Library or on a track after a Lazysearch result I get 3 choices (Browse by selected, Custom Skip and MusicIP) It would be nice if SugarCube were a 4th choice. This way I can select a seed genre/track of my choice via Lazysearch instead of getting a "random" seed track via Dynamic Playlist. This would also reinforce the new "Restrict Mixing to Genre of Seed Track" option. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49226 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Nice update!... I'm running it on SC 7.4 26558 the last built with native MySQL. One thing I noticed is that if one clears the playlist using Web UI the SB3 Now Playing Screen switches from "Nothing" to "The Name of the last track that was due to play next". In a future release could it be possible to set the Mix by Genre via the SB3 menu and also to have the ability to select multiple Genres simultaneously? Thanks again for the update. -- tamanaco tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49226 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
