Running into a problem trying to use Spotty. Got it installed on a Raspberry Pi 1b, with LMS 7.9.0. Using a Squeezebox Radio as the player. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
Hi, Spotty 1.3.3 on latest LMS nightly on Windows. When I go to library/Artist/ I do not get an option to list the albums/singles etc for that artist. There only is Top Tracks, Songs, Artist Radio etc. If I then browse to some Related Artist, I get the full list of albums etc, as I think I should have initially. If I go to that Artist through search, the whole list is there. Happens both for web interface and iPeng. I have the multiple user account shown separately. All on a family premium plan. To which account's history does playing tracks accrue? Spotify in principle seems to learn the tracks that I like by which ones I skip over etc, but it should know which account is playing them in the first place. Oh never thought of that. Ugh. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
For people running LMS on FreeBSD (Or eg. in a jail on FreeNAS), and wanting to use Spotify, Michael Herger's 'Spotty' plugin works with the latest official LMS port for FreeBSD (7.9.1.g2017.07.11) without problems. What does NOT work is the helper application for Spotty. This has to be compiled for FreeBSD. I did that earlier and posted the result in post #950 in this thread. Now it's even easier. There is a plug-in available for just the helper application for FreeBSD (Spotty helper application for FreeBSD 11). Install that together with the "Spotty" plugin and you should be fine. It could be that the Perl5 interface to SSL sockets (IO::Socket::SSL) has to be installed also. I used ports: cd /usr/ports/security/p5-IO-Socket-SSL/ and 'make install clean'. If you want to use pkg: pkg install p5-IO-Socket-SSL. Thank's again to Michael. His work helps very much to keep the Squeezebox a usable device. For people using this, consider a donation to him (see herger.net). It could make a difference while he is struggling to make the 'connect' feature possible... Network drive mounting is easy on pCP either by NFS or CIFS/Samba. I still have a working VB 2.3 configured this way so that I can still rip CDs but enjoy Spotty and and "local" music on on the Pi based LMS. (Actually my VB rips straight to my NAS having originally hacked a few files to move /storage to the NAS via NFS and the Pi points at the NAS but its the same principle.) To switch off LMS on the VB I recommend installing webmin on it if you haven't already, then go to Bootup & Shutdown and set LMS not to start on boot. Installing webmin is easy and if you have already hacked your VB then you probably know how if you haven't already installed it. (I did install a VB2.4 on a spare box and mounted my NAS on that but decided the Pi is perfectly adequate as an LMS server and my test box didn't have a CD drive which is the main attribute that requires VB.) The downside of this approach is a little extra power being used but thats about all. *Pi3 with piCoreplayer music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets/Jogglers *Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s *Office* - Pi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107615 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If i try to activate the Spotty Plugin my LMS will not start anymore. Not at all? Tried more than once? Did you check your server.log file? All ich can do then ist a new manuell Installaton of the LMS 7.9.1. You should never need to install LMS again. Next time this happens, could you please check whether there's a process called "spotty*" (could have an annex like -86_64 etc.)? I read that we must install *IO::Socket::SSL * but i'm not sure where or how i should do this on my NAS DS214. I'm a rookie in Linux ... and don't know any programm commands. Nop. After the donwloadserver update from michael i tried again but no luck. Everything looks ok but after suggested restart of LMS there is no spotty installed. Anyone another suggestion beside a fresh reinstall of PcP with LMS (Really not waiting for that option)? There's almost no real reason to re-install LMS. Ever. Go to Settings/Advanced/Logging, enable DEBUG for server.plugins and plugin.extensions, check the box at the top to make the change stick after reboot, apply. Then re-try to install. Reboot when asked. Then provide your server.log (find the link for the .zip file in Settings/Information). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
