Everything works fine on my ordinary computer, a Macbook Pro with the

Is there a encoder I'm missing somewhere? Or does this have to do with
Perl versions?

Your server.log might give you more information.

2017-08-27 Thread skut

Running into a problem trying to use Spotty. Got it installed on a
Raspberry Pi 1b, with LMS 7.9.0. Using a Squeezebox Radio as the
player.

Have been able to get it to work initially, but now I am getting error
message "Problem:Unable to convert stream" whenever I try to play a
track. Grateful for a hint, and apologies if I have missed something
already in this thread...

On pCP Lame (needed for MP3) is not installed by default. You need to
add it via Extensions.

I find since upgrading to Spotty that I only get a few seconds of play
followed by a few secs of buffer before it goes into this
play-buffer-play loop. The setting to buffer music didnt help either. My

Hi all,

I've installed Spotty not knowing that my processor (armle-linux) isn't
supported (yet?). Due to another error message in the plugin settings
that there is a problem with the helper application I've tried to
install this "Spotty helper application for free BSD 11" plugin which
didn't work either. Now this plugin is stuck on the plugins page as a
plugin to be updated (which doesn't work). How can I get rid of it??

Oh... that's WHS 1, I guess? That was based on Windows Server 2003 - the

I checked the "Actress" case and clearly see that it's getting album

On Warn level logging there is nothing from Spotty at all. On Info/Debug
there are thousands of lines. Not sure this is normal or not? I've
uploaded a zip file with my log from starting in the Spotty page,
browsing into my library and then into the Acress page a couple of
times. There don't seem to be lines saying not connecting or errors.
One thing to say is that clicking on a link in the web interface doesn't
always register and sometimes you have to wait a while (a few seconds),
but I've assumed that's normal.

The log is here:

OK, it seems like it is some artists but not others: e.g. Four Tet,
Actress, Bjork, Erykah Badu, Frnak Ocean are missing the top entries. I
have seen a couple which had them, but now can't anymore. One
possibility is that these are very old follows, maybe they are not quite
the same as the new ones?

Did you check your server.log for any hint about problems connecting or

Hi, Spotty 1.3.3 on latest LMS nightly on Windows.

When I go to library/Artist/ I do not get
an option to list the albums/singles etc for that artist. There only is
Top Tracks, Songs, Artist Radio etc. If I then browse to some Related
Artist, I get the full list of albums etc, as I think I should have
initially.

If I go to that Artist through search, the whole list is there.

Happens both for web interface and iPeng.

I have the multiple user account shown separately. All on a family
premium plan.

Yes, the CPU is a problem. IO::Socket::SSL would probably be another
problem. But as long as I haven't figured out how to compile for this
CPU type, the latter doesn't really matter.

Is there a chance Spotty will run on this CPU one day? Yes, there is a
chance. But no guarantee. Depending on your processors speed it might be
worth setting up a Pi3 to run LMS. I'm in the same situation (using a
ReadyNAS Duo v2). Running LMS on the Pi3 is _much_ faster than running
it on the NAS. And it does support Spotty, of course ;-).

Exacly. I had to upgrade to latest LmsUpdate since latest LmsRepack
available on repository was dated May.

Fixed by upgrading to the latest LmsUpdate v7.9.1-1503129892 which is
dated Aug 19.

Code:

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1503129892 @ Sat Aug 19 09:00:13 UTC
2017

Latest LmsRepack was from May (v7.9.1-1494667952) so it didn't contain
the fix.

I don't know the exact differences among LmsRepack and LmsUpdate, but
now my Radio Preset buttons are working perfectly.

Alphabetical indexing works very nicely, thank you! Noting that it
indexes by artist first name, not surname. i.e., Neil Young is listed
under N. Is that something beyond SPOTTY, or possible to have a choice?
Again, thanks!

- Add alphanumeric pager bar to lists where suitable
- Try to display the user's display name, rather than the username

Yes then you can have other unforeseen issues . Even if you succeed to
install prerequisites like IO socket SSL and it's dependencies ( there
are a bunch ) and the needed libraries both on the OS itself and the
perlmodules . You migth find the the versions are simply to old :)

That was the case with my old ClearOS server . I did never try it with
spotty but Phillips AirTunes plugins etc also requires iOS socket ssl
etc , and it never worked .

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-22 Thread NeverSimple

For people running LMS on FreeBSD (Or eg. in a jail on FreeNAS), and
wanting to use Spotify, Michael Herger's 'Spotty' plugin works with the
latest official LMS port for FreeBSD (7.9.1.g2017.07.11) without
problems.
What does NOT work is the helper application for Spotty. This has to be
compiled for FreeBSD. I did that earlier and posted the result in post
#950 in this thread.

Now it's even easier. There is a plug-in available for just the helper
application for FreeBSD (Spotty helper application for FreeBSD 11).
Install that together with the "Spotty" plugin and you should be fine.

It could be that the Perl5 interface to SSL sockets (IO::Socket::SSL)
has to be installed also. I used ports: cd
/usr/ports/security/p5-IO-Socket-SSL/ and 'make install clean'. If you
want to use pkg: pkg install p5-IO-Socket-SSL.

Thank's again to Michael. His work helps very much to keep the
Squeezebox a usable device. For people using this, consider a donation
to him (see herger.net). It could make a difference while he is
struggling to make the 'connect' feature possible...

I think you're the only one who has reported this, yes. Would you see
this behaviour in any interface (web, player, mobile)? And would the
traditional switching work (the option where you select an account per

What you could do is switch off LMS on the VB 2.3, get a Pi3 with pCP
install LMS on that and point it at the files on the VB. Network drive
mounting is easy on pCP either by NFS or CIFS/Samba.
I still have a working VB 2.3 configured this way so that I can still
rip CDs but enjoy Spotty and and "local" music on on the Pi based LMS.

(Actually my VB rips straight to my NAS having originally hacked a few
files to move /storage to the NAS via NFS and the Pi points at the NAS
but its the same principle.)

To switch off LMS on the VB I recommend installing webmin on it if you
haven't already, then go to Bootup & Shutdown and set LMS not to start
on boot.
Installing webmin is easy and if you have already hacked your VB then
you probably know how if you haven't already installed it.

(I did install a VB2.4 on a spare box and mounted my NAS on that but
decided the Pi is perfectly adequate as an LMS server and my test box
didn't have a CD drive which is the main attribute that requires VB.)

The downside of this approach is a little extra power being used but
thats about all.

It is a Pi3 with no modified v3.21 pcp. Then AFTER the whole config
thing i moved prefs&cache via the LMS page "Save LMS Server Cache and
Preferences to Mounted Drive" and then used "MOve LMS data" (of course
after placing a USB stick and mounted that as lmsprefs)

Good to know! Please try to revert the move of the cache folder, and
post your findings to a pCP related thread (I'd suggest you start a new

Just tried. Regular plugin (Boom Lijn uitgang) went ok. 3rd party
(AirPlay bridge) no go, failed just like spotty.

*SqueezeBoxes:* 2x SB2 (Living room and study), 1x Radio (Kitchen), 1x
Boom (Dining room), 1x piCorePlayer (jacuzzi), 1x piCorePlayer (Garden)
1x OSMC + Squeezelite (Movie room), 1x Touch (Bedroom)
*Server:* LMS on Pi3 7.9.1. on PcP 3.21
*Network:* AVM Fritzbox, D-Link Smart Switch 24p, 3x Ubiquity

Now that's an important piece of information! Would you be able to
install _any_ 3rd party plugin at all? This either is a bug in LMS'
plugin manager (which would surprise me - after all these years...), or
your configuration. How did you move the cache folder? Could you revert
to the default values and try again?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-21 Thread Michael Herger

If i try to activate the Spotty Plugin my LMS will not start anymore.

Not at all? Tried more than once? Did you check your server.log file?

All ich can do then ist a new manuell Installaton of the LMS 7.9.1.

You should never need to install LMS again. Next time this happens,
could you please check whether there's a process called "spotty*" (could
have an annex like -86_64 etc.)?

I read that we must install *IO::Socket::SSL * but i'm not sure where or
how i should do this on my NAS DS214. I'm a rookie in Linux ... and
don't know any programm commands.

If you're running the latest DSM then you should be fine here. No need
to install that module yourself.

Could you please

and

ll /usr/local/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/API/

?

Nop. After the donwloadserver update from michael i tried again but no
luck.
Everything looks ok but after suggested restart of LMS there is no
spotty installed.
Anyone another suggestion beside a fresh reinstall of PcP with LMS
(Really not waiting for that option)?

There's almost no real reason to re-install LMS. Ever.

Go to Settings/Advanced/Logging, enable DEBUG for server.plugins and
plugin.extensions, check the box at the top to make the change stick
after reboot, apply. Then re-try to install. Reboot when asked. Then
provide your server.log (find the link for the .zip file in
Settings/Information).

1.3.1 solved my problem with my Synology Disk Station. Thanks so much!

Good to know, thanks for the feedback!

PS Wondering as first run required connecting from a Spotify app,
whether it is possible to connect to player from app instead of from
SqueezeCenter?

I still hope to eventually be able to add Connect. But I'm still far
from there...

2017-08-21 Thread six3323

Dear Michael, Dear Community

i need your help with my Squeezeboxes and the Spotty Plugin. I already
updated my LMS to the 7.9.1 Version. But when i look into the LMS
Plugins i can see Michaels Spotty Plugin withe the follwong comment
*"Spotty Spotify implementation for squeezebox. Not quite connect
ready..."*

If i try to activate the Spotty Plugin my LMS will not start anymore.
All ich can do then ist a new manuell Installaton of the LMS 7.9.1.

NAS: Synology DS214play with Intel Atom CE5335
DSM: DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 3 - Perl 5.24 installed
LMS: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1494667952

I read that we must install *IO::Socket::SSL * but i'm not sure where or
how i should do this on my NAS DS214. I'm a rookie in Linux ... and
don't know any programm commands.

Can anyone help me to get Spotify running on my Squeezeboxes?

best regards
