I couldn't find the sleep setting in the default skin so I wonder if it might be some Material functionality - apologies if this is in the wrong thread. I use the sleep settings quite a bit mainly the "sleep after the duration of the current track" which is for me a very useful function. I did notice that the music fades out as it reaches the end of the track. Is there a setting to stop the fading happening. I couldnt seem to figure out how to do that. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Craig, A long while ago you kindly made an enhancement to material skin whereby, if additional files (text, pictures, html etc) are present within a music\artist\album directory, the option to access these files becomes available within the material interface. For example, from the android skin, now playing screen, long press artist artwork, a menu with (...) Show track info appears, select this. If additional files are present, the next menu will display "text files from music folder", selecting this (in my case) presents the option Additional Information.html (a file I've created, located in the album directory in a sub directory called Additional Resources). My question is, using the custom scripting, is it possible to move the option to reach the Additional Info.html file up to the top menu after long pressing the album artwork from the now playing screen? I seem to recall that this isn't as simple as I hope, due to you having to due some under the bonnet checking to see if the file is present? Thanks for looking, hope the above makes some sense? location 1: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x3 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sounds odd - but perhaps is somehow RNP is causing that. Broadly ... RNP polls the remote site every 5 seconds or so to get the current track info - and gives an update to LMS if the current info is different to the last that it gave. It's because of this that Material is checking the status every second. This should be set to "0" (or simply not defined) after playback has started - in which case the frequency is reduced to every 5 seconds. *Material debug:* 1. Material does poll during playback as follows: - Every second when "waitingToPlay:1" - Every 1/2 second for the -last- 2.5 seconds of a track - Every 5 seconds otherwise This is due to the fact that the cometd events are not instantaneous, and can be a few seconds late. The user sent me some logs, and in these "waitingToPlay:1" and "time:0" seem to be always set - even 19 seconds after initial play. They sent me 2 logs; one with the issue, one without. That user has reported on the LMS repo too. Some confusing statements. But its my understanding that the issue is not Qobuz, but tracks in the database vs. online only tracks. His LMS is spending a lot of time in the status querys database code, looking up contributors, album info etc. which does not apply if a track is online only, not in the database. Material doesnt poll, does it? Because what I understood is that hes seeing spikes in intervals. Can a low power Intel CPU be less powerful than a Pi3B+? Because I cant reproduce this on my LMS. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
A user has raised an 'issue' (https://github.com/CDrummond/lms-material/issues/579) stating that LMS's CPU load is much higher (spikes at staer) when playing a Qobuz track that has been integrated with LMS's library. The user thinks this is becasue of Material skin, CPU load is better when this is uninstalled. The user has sent me 2 logs one where CPU load is OK (playback from Qobuz menu) and one when CPU load is high (playback from music library). If I can establish that I'll report back. OK, I was able to recreate how to break this (multiple radio stations in the queue - switch between them). If this is a "live with it" I am fine, but I thought Craig (and maybe Paul W) would like to know. See the screenshot below. Four stations (top to bottom) Aardvark Blues (Tune in), JB Radio 2 (Paul's RNP plugin), Mother Earth (Paul's RNP), Radio Paradise FLAC (through plugin). I chose these randomly to test. 37572 Note that I have Aardvark playing, chosen after Mother Earth (I think). Aardvark is properly identifying the station, but it is not playing Zappa. It is playing some other blues song, but seems to have adopted the artwork and song info from Mother Earth. I tried a few combinations and it seems like this album "sharing" is only between mother earth and a regular internet stream (not JB2, not RP). But, it might be the position (first and third, or playing and third...) Note that this is also displayed on my touch's screen and other material UI's (tablet phone desktop) Another oddity is the "duration" of all of the stations is the same (7:53). Also, when progress is viewed on my tablet (not sure if it's available my phone, both via apk) it's goofy. You see AAA/BBB then XXX/YYY jump back and forth with the progress bar jumping back and forth. After I said that, I can't get it to do it again  But it still plays fine, which is fine by me. I obviously did a "what did you do? Well, don't do that!" :) But I thought I would report. I can test more if requested, meanwhile I will enjoy the music Jim +---+ |Filename: Screenshot_20220325-093303.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37572| +---+ Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

cpd73 wrote: > Infinite duration? For me durations are not shown for streams. What > streams are showing "infinite" duration? Sorry Craig, very poor choice of words. I meant to contrast songs vs stations in the queue. I meant that the queue shows stations that normally don't have anything after (because they will never end - infinite duration). I didn't mean infinite duration is shown. Maybe others have queued multiple radio stations, or songs after radio stations, I have not, but I suppose you could to add "what I want to listen to after I get tired of this station". Normally (and what I meant to illustrate) is that when listening to a radio station, the queue would have just that station, nothing else. My recent discovery was to add multiple stations (that theoretically never end) to choose as presets/favorite stations per say. So now I can queue and create playlists with my favorite eclectic, blues, rock, mellow stations, each in their own playlist, load one, or more and choose what to listen to, or jump around, or add a different genre..very cool. Maybe you purposely built this functionality in, if so, good job! If not, and it just works, good job! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Forgive me if my recent discovery has been discussed before, but I thought I would share. I don't really ever use playlists or play around with the queue. I'm a choose and play guy...:) I listen to allot of internet radio, especially in the workshop, and occasionally a song comes on I don't care for, or I just feel like a change. I generally navigate through my favorites (which have folder heirarchy, e.g. blues->blues station A), so there is allot of menu/folder traversing to select a new station. With a radio station, Material shows a song with infinite duration in the queue. I started adding other stations to the queue, stations I would flip between. It works great with the only caveat (not a big deal), is the song/artist/artwork only updates for the active item in the queue. The other caveat is the station ID might not be there. Example "Wake Up" was on Mother Earth Radio. 37555 The great thing is I can save the queue, which creates a playlist item which is basically a set of radio presets. So, listen to an album, or whatever, come back, load the playlist and choose from my radio stations. Awesome Craig! Jim PS - I have been able to break Material or LMS doing this, where audio for the selected station will play, but with artwork from another queue member showing, but I am trying to recreate the steps required for this to happen. If I can establish that I'll report back. +---+ |Filename: presets.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37555| +---+ Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Material is great! I started using it more than iPend which is not developed for more than year so... I noticed one small issue: 37522 For 3-lines mode there a lot of space to draw title and starts - but one track is clipped without "..." and rate looks like 4 starts while there are 4... My device is ipad mini previous generation. But I can see the same behaviour when I narrow queue list on my mac. Left: album view, right: queue. For sure clipping should be improoved. But maybe its implemented in used library. Or maybe its easy to fix... Another feature I would we happy to have are: - list for album playback without miniatures for each track - like in old UI - so panel with album info and tracks below: 37523 And maybe when we have information that server should be restarted - it would be great to have sth more - which plugin will be updated. I was very curious recently if it was Material or maybe Tidal... I don't expect information from which to which version but maybe updated plugins should be in different colour ? ISSUE: SHUFFLE MODE IS RESET TO ORIGINAL SONG ORDER AFTER START OF NEXT SONG MOTIVATIONAL BACKGROUND *SQLPlaylist *based *playlists *e.g. "all songs of a dyamically selected genre with rating above 4 not played in the last 12 weeks" *are no longer recognized by DynamicPlaylist*. So I tried to simply queue two or more albums and listen to shuffled songs (welcome back to stone age :( DETAILS 1. Add first album via "Play now" 2. Append second album via "Append to queue" 3. Change to shuffle mode -> songs are properly shuffled 4. When the new song starts the shuffled playlist is reset back to the original order "album 1 -> album 2" Interestingly the same happens after I turn on another synched player (click on current player, left top). By this I mean something like: - from the now playing screen (on android apk), long press artwork brings up a menu, create mix is available by pressing "show track info". Could the create mix be option be available on the 1st menu (ie. directly after long pressing the AW)? This would be handy if listening to a track and want to quickly create a mix based upon it. - from other screens, create mix is only available by selecting the track/artist (via 3 dots), then selecting more, then create mix. Again is it possible to bring it to the 1st menu? It's just a thought based upon how I tend to use it, there may be plenty of good reasons not to do this which I haven't considered, but thought I'd ask. location 1: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x3 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Not sure how wavein works at that level, but I do know that the trick I used to edit the local browser storage works fine. I first pinned a random radio station, and then edited the "http://"; URL to the "wavin:sysdefault:etc". That works, so I assume "wavin:" is used in the same way as "http:" urls.. The code in the materials.prefs files (note: I didnt change the id) is: Code: {"id":"https://icecast.**","title":"Record Player USB","svg":"cd-player","isPinned":true,"url":"wavin:sysdefault:CARD=CODEC","menu":[0,5,3,-1,9,17],"weight":1} jeroen2's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70418 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

As a hacky work-around you can use Material's settings dialog to "Save as default" the current settings. This will save current settings, including pinned items, to Materials .prefs file on the LMS server. This is all saved as 1 JSON string. After editing, you can then use Material's settings dialog to "Revert to default" - which will load the settings from the server. So I used to be able to pin items from favourites to the homescreen in Material. But for some reason that option does not seem to be there anymore.. So default skin only lists tracks from the year the album displays but how would you play other tracks from the same album? If other tracks are from a different year than the year the album is listed under they will never be playable by choosing that year from "Years". kidstypike wrote: > Advanced search > Year equals > does that work for you. > > 37461 > > 37462 Yes, that works too... but again, not so convenient as "All Songs". I admit it's an occasional use option, I guess I just wondered why it's not present in the Material skin too? I admit, it's far from essential, but if I choose a year as the starting point to browse my library, it would seem reasonably obvious option to have available. mruddo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
