It is more than likely the accented e in that your accent is a different character to that used by All Music. When this happens you can either attempty to fix by changing the album name OR what I tend to do is to create my own review.html which I drop into the album folder. This can be a direct copy of the text on All Music if you want or you could personalise it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Sometimes when playing a locally stored album there is no album review displayed. This is most often due to All Music not having a review to display or a mis-match in my local artist name or album title (amending my locally stored meta data to match usually sorts it out). However I have one stubborn example where I can't seem to retrieve the All Music review. The Album is Olé Coltrane by John Coltrane. My local meta data has the artist as John Coltrane and the album title as Olé Coltrane (with the accented é), the same as All Music, but the online review isn't retrieved. I initially thought it was the accented é, as I just had a non-accented character in my local title, but that didn't sort it. Are there any other data fields that need matching, or is it the é that is causing the problem? Any ideas, just curious, it's a great album and an interesting review! location 1: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x3 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.3 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I was thinking about menu items for mood/style/theme to choose from. But there might be a problem to associate the local/remote albums/tracks with such tags if they're not already present. I haven't found any tool for adding such tags to my existing files, nor any tags database that is available for it. (When I tried out Roon some years ago, it was dnloading a lot in the background, allegedly database with info about artists etc.) Zombie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25009 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Hello! Thank you for your great plugin! Now we have Roon-like system :) But... Do you have any plans to extend sources of information? Unfortunately Roon and ALLmusic is not ideal. ALL music doesn't mean all unfortunately. I would even say that its not the best place to check information about music - lack od data or data with errors... Recently I noticed that Material shows no information about Zamilska. Quick check: Roon no data, allmusic no data. But: Spotify, Tidal, last.fm, discorgs, Shazam - all contain sth about the artist. https://www.last.fm/music/Zamilska https://www.discogs.com/artist/3652872-Zamilska Of course I can always google it but I'm disappointed that Roon doesn't know Zamilska. It's not American artist, she is not mainstream for sure. Bur she is quite well known musician :/ I had to complain a bit :) Wojtulek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72682 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Just to add some user experience If you define an artwork & lyrics folder then MAI will attempt to download and store as follows Artist Art - will create an image file titled artist name as LMS wants.png/jpg however if no image is found it will create a zero length file with the suffix .missing. This enables a user to find an appropriate image and name it correctly. Lyrics - will download and store a .txt file of lyrics when you have MAI open on the lyrics tab. You can correct errors manually or delete the file and MAI will re lookup at next play with lyrics open. Self generated bios and reviews. Assuming you have an Artist/Album folder structure Create and drop bio.html into the Artist folder and MAI will use this instead of looking the bio up on AllMusic Similarly create an album review as review.html and drop into Album folder. Any standard hyperlinks you create inside the html files will be obeyed by Material which will generate its Follow link and Search functions. Dont attempt to style the html in any way beyond basic H1, bold etc If you are using Linux you can expand the accuracy of lots of MAI capability by using symlinks For example MAI will pretty much always find lyrics for a Beatles track but if you are playing a cover version it most likely wont. You can symlink the lyrics in the Beatles folder to ANOthers version. @michael A wee buggette It appears that the MAI lookup to a stored library of lyrics is case sensitive track to file name e.g an of in the file name instead of Of causes a failure to find. Material will open pdf files on my LInux desktop. I think its inability to do so on Android is more an Android limitation than a Material issue, but I don't know enough to be certain of that. And I have no knowledge of iOS. Loading Material in a browser on Android, you at least have the option to download a pdf file and then open it independently. But with the Material apk, all you get is silent failure. I'll drop a link to this thread in the main Material thread. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. The upside of this mode is of course I can amend by hand but further that a can do some clever symlinking which I was doing at the time I discovered the incorrect lyrics. The track in question is by Roxy Music as you discovered when searching but a lot of their stuff has subsequently been re-recorded or performed live by Bryan Ferry in his solo capacity but if you are playing a Ferry version ChartLyrics doesn't find the track so rather than symlinking file to file I have done it on a folder to folder basis /lyrics/Bryan Ferry is symlinked to /lyrics/Roxy Music This uses the same store point for lyrics whether its Roxy Music or Bryan Ferry that you are listening to and allows a one place correction for both. Obviously my use is a bit esoteric but I thought I'd post this just in case someone else finds it useful. I have 3 x LMS, 2 use the same NAS as their storage mounted identically via NFS. The 3rd is at a remote site where there is a fully synced backup NAS. The LMS there is also mounted with the same path so a change at one location update all three instances of LMS accordingly. I have yet to work out how to extend this to Advanced Genre Replacement as this is (I think) a database thing rather than some simple cached file containing the replacement table?? +---+ |Filename: 2022-02-02 13_58_47-Server Settings.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37102| +---+ Jim https://jukeradio.double6.net VB2.4 STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS) Living Room* Joggler & Pi4/Khadas -> Onkyo TXNR686 -> Celestion F20s *Office* Joggler & Pi3 -> Denon RCD N8 -> Celestion F10s *Dining Room* SB Radio *Bedroom (Bedside)* Pi Zero+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV) & Bathroom* SB Touch ->Denon AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s + Kef ceiling speakers *Guest Room* Joggler > Topping Amp -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If I understand the MAI process correctly it obtains the lyrics as raw data and writes to a file as text. If this is correct I think it would be simpler / cleaner to append a line to the end of the text file if Micahel is up for it. You could also append the "correction" link if it was felt sensible although some users wouldn't realise that you would need to delete the cache version to see the amend. Code: Lyrics sourced from https://Chartlyrics.com/fullurl";>ChartLyrics.com on dd/mm/yy. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
If you click the link in Michael's post you should see some XML - and in there is the field that I referred to. If you copy that URL and go to it then you are taken to an edit page on ChartLyrics. It requires an email address to be entered (but not checked as far as I could tell) and makes the update. If you then use Michael's link again then you should see that the change has been made. I don't know if they have back-end processes that do some sanity checking of the submitted process and/or they go to human reviewers. Note - I think that MAI can get the lyrics from more than one source ... so this would only work if the source is ChartLyrics. However, you would not see the URL in the LMS logs ... so to get to it you would have to search their site for the song and then make the update. If MAI added the update URL to the MoreInfo field then it could potentially be easier to do. Yeah, I played with Whitebear and J. River a few years back as well and decided to re-visit recently hoping they made some progress... I really like how foobar2000 shows as a player in LMS and the audio sync between foobar on the pc and the duets/sonos is pretty good (much better than J. River) It works when I initiate playback through the LMS web interface or Orange Squeeze/Squeeze Ctrl from phone/tablet. I wonder if there's a way to make it work by initiating playback from foobar? Because apparently there's a J. River-like skin for foobar2000 - https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=116085.new#new mondo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=45243 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
