[qmailtoaster] Anti-Spam Features

2007-06-18 Thread Gabriel Lai
Hi All,

Can we integrate new Anti-Spam features? I've read some info here where they
implement this technology.

RE: [qmailtoaster] QmailAdmin - No Menu entries

2007-06-18 Thread Phil Leinhauser
Very strange, I just installed VQadmin myself. I used it to create 2 domains.
The domains show in the vqadmin list, in mySQL but NOT in the isoQlogs domain
list and my qmailadmin menu for both of those domains looks exactly like
Everett's. I can't make a new user, forward, nothing. There is no list of
things to do. My domains are not sub domains. I'm going to remove them and
recreate them from CL and see what happens.

I haven't looked at what it is doing exactly but it runs for me at 100% for about 5
minutes then calms down.

Vmachines are so cheap I chose not to run anything but QMT on this server. Running
webs etc. on my mail server will certainly overload it once I go into full production.

Have you rebuilt simscan since the upgrade? Occasionally simscan needs
to be rebuilt against the latest libs.

I am running 90.1, and have seen no issues. Of course I get the message to
upgrade to 90.3, but seeing all the issues folks are having I am not willing
to mess with it. I installed qmt iso 1.2, running on dual athlon 1800's

This is very peculiar. I have not been able to reproduce any of the clamav
problems stated on this list.

Perhaps we need to start doing profiling and submitting issues to the clamav
group.

Thus far I have ten different production boxes running the latest clamav
(some x86_64, some centos4 and one centos3) with no adverse activiity.

In addition, I am running a full spamassassin 3.2.0 with no issues. I did
have to yum install a bunch of perl modules from rpmforge repo to get
everything working properly though.

RE: [qmailtoaster] my battle against spam

2007-06-18 Thread Helmut Fritz
Sam,
I am guessing you are the dev for spamdyke? I would be glad to start a mail
list for the community. I could throw up a wiki as well. I have the
servers and the disk space and the bandwidth. Feel free to e-mail me off
list if you want to discuss.

That is a valid concern, though I try to respond to every spamdyke email I
get.

There's no wiki, mailing list, forum, blog at this point only because no one
has set one up -- spamdyke is just too new. I'd be happy to participate in
any of those things but I just don't have the time to administer them. If
anyone feels like starting one, let me know. :)

2007-06-18 Thread slamp slamp

the issue i am having is that the communication between simscan and
clamd is not immediate. i have to wait at least two minutes for mail
to start coming in.

connect(): No such file or directory

by the way, spamassassin 3.2.1 and 3.1.9 are out. when can we see them
for the current toaster?

Thus far I have ten different production boxes running the latest

activiity.

In addition, I am running a full spamassassin 3.2.0 with no issues. I
did have to yum install a bunch of perl modules from rpmforge repo to
get everything working properly though.

Hi Phil,

this a virtualization server... 2xXEON 3,2GHz(now 2,6GHz), 16GB ram (now
12), 4 dedicated RAID 1 Volumes running SUSE 10.2 with XEN

checking back 0.90.2 didn't have this issue. didn't try out 0.90.1...

The Clamd ver 90.1 hogged my CPU indefinitely. I had to stop it to et the
machine back.

After my upgrade problems (self induced), I see what you are talking
about. I haven't looked at what it is doing exactly but it runs for me at
100% for about 5 minutes then calms down.

My QMT server is a VMware virtual server running on an AMD 3.0G host along

Re: [qmailtoaster] Outgoing Domainkeys

2007-06-18 Thread curt . qt
I am aware that the entries are not active. For starters, the domain I'm trying
to get dk working on is agroupmail.com. I had to temporarily (hopefully) disable
the dk policy & selector entries in DNS until I can figure out how to actually
get the messages signed - otherwise, Yahoo will completely reject all messages
since it will be expecting the specified public key in the email header.

I have been through the wiki as well as several other googled sources looking
for ideas, and the domain has SPF set up correctly.

As I said, getting the necessary DNS domainkey entries happening is not the
problem - I simply need to get Qmail to insert the key specified in tcp.smtp's
DKSIGN. Has anyone gotten this to work?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Has anyone had any luck getting QT to sign outgoing messages with Domainkeys?

Yup, I had

I read somewhere in the wiki that "domainkeys was broken", but the instructions
regarding the issue point to incoming queue elements. I was able to create the
private/public key pair and update the zone file to reflect these values, but I
can't seem to get it to actually put the value in the header of outgoing emails.

Steps taken:
created /var/qmail/control/domainkeys subdir (tried actual domain name, even
localhost.localdomain for fun)
used dknewkey to create private/public key pair, changed ownership/permissions
on private key
configured DNS with policy & selector records - verified via sourceforge, yahoo,
& skylist

the instruction for creating domainkeys is in here
http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Domainkeys
have you check them on http://www.dnsstuff.com/ ?
on the hostname test column
choose TXT type and enter the policy and selector records
I get this output

*No TXT records exist for _domainkey.agroup.com, and _domainkey.agroup.com does
not exist.* [Neg TTL=1800 seconds]

have you tried spf for verification?
it simple and qmt support it also. All you have to do is add spf records
on you dns zone.
for details and wizard creating spf record, you can go to openspf.org
and maybe join their milist to consult

updated tcp.smtp with proper DKSIGN value (tried both with % and with absolute
path for single domain)

Is there an error log somewhere that would show DKSIGN failing? Any ideas?

a 2.6GHz and from 4GB Ram to 2GB ram and noticed this:

when starting clamd loads the entire database to memory while
doing some sort of checksum verification??? anyone can verify this???

the server has about a zillion sites on it plus some other services besides
QMT. The result is that clamd loads de signatures for about 2 minutes hoging
the CPU during this time, and fails to respond to simscan, originating
deferals
for smtp.

At this point I did som test in other servers and I realized that
90.3takes a lot
more time to read the signatures than previous versions.

Well just my experience since I've seen a lot of pelople with some issues
with
0.90.3.

Hi,

color schemes go in /etc/multitail.conf - I've placed mine at the end
of default colorschemes.

Sorry, no screenshots, but it simply highlights with relevant colors
what's going on

eg.: in send log deferrals go yellow, failures go red, and success
goes bright white

and so on...

oh. so I am only need to create /etc/multitail.conf and put your
colorschemes there.

Great, now I can see watchall script in color
(looking at Jack hoping it will added to next qmtiso ;P )

thanks, it gave my eye to relax and only react to something in color.
