RE: [qmailtoaster] testing restore - now no authentication works (IE squirrelmail, imap client or qmailadmin)

2009-02-23 Thread Dan Page
I do still have the binary but when I try and install it with the
--replacefiles I just get output saying that it is already installed. I
got it to work using --force. It left my mail and all is working as it
should. Thanks

That would do it. :(

You still have the binary rpm for vpopmail-toaster, I hope.
I believe that re-installing the package with --replacefiles will fix
you up:
# rpm -Uvh --replacefiles vpopmail-toaster-*.i?86.rpm

Where did the vpopmail-toaster binary rpm come from that you used for
installing on the COS5 (new) machine? Was it built on the COS5 box? Was
the --with-cnt50 option used on the rpmbuild command?

I don't think I have an old version of mysqlclient. I did a
'locate mysqlclient'

and got this output
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.15
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.15.0.0
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.a
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so.15
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so.15.0.0

but I did a backup on an cent04.4 system which had mysql4. and did a
restore on a 5.1 system. Some where vpopmail is calling an old binary,
I just don't know where to look.

Fedora 10 is running as 32bits, the =uname -a= gives:

   Linux server6 2.6.27.15-170.2.24.fc10.i686 #1 SMP Wed Feb 11
   23:58:12 EST 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

But it's refering to =/usr/lib64/mysql=. Strange.
I created a directory =/usr/lib64/mysql= (it did not exist) and =mount
--bind /usr/lib/mysql /usr/lib64/mysql=. Now the rpmbuild runs ok.

I am going to check where the lib64 comes from.

Looks like you have something mismatched. Why's it looking for
libmysqlclient.so.14? I have libmysqlclient.so.15 on my COS5 toaster,
which belongs to mysql-5.0.45-7.el5. Do you have mysql-4 installed on
COS5? If so, why?

The new one is a brand spanking new centos 5.1 install, with a blank

SO for sh**s and giggles I wanted to see if i could restore back onto
the new toaster.

All my data appears to be there. The vqadmin reports back all of the
users and passwords. As does the vpopmail bin tools.

Now when I attempt to log into webmail, I get the dreaded "ERROR:

"invalid password" error.

I double checked and I have the ports listening (so it seems).

Here is the output of netstats -pant:

Now could this simply be due to the fact that the OS versions are

I highly doubt it (but anything's possible), and no.

I wouldn't trust vqadmin at all, but some folks say it's ok for looking
things up.

My first guess would be MySQL grants. Did you run the mysqladmin commands in
the cnt50-svcs.sh script? I would expect so since you can retrieve
information with /home/vpopmail/bin/vuserinfo. Is the password there the
same as what's in /home/vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql ?

(Hey, it's just a guess)

It's not an answer to your problem but you might want to look at getting
the free Navicat. It's a great GUI MySQL manager that will keep you from
having to deal with CLI.

mysqldump vpopmail -uvpopmail -p > vpopmail-dump.sql

On the new one:

mysql vpopmail -uvpopmail -p < vpopmail-dump.sql

I was going through a test run today trying out the qtp-backup and qtp-restore.

I made sure both machines had the same version of qtp.

One was a toaster that has been running for some months and is now centos 4.6.
The new one is a brand spanking new centos 5.1 install, with a blank
set of domains.

Connection dropped by IMAP server." error (google returns many many
reasons and apparent solutions - none of which have yet worked for me
thus far). When I attempt to login to the qmailadmin, I get an
"invalid password" error.

I double checked and I have the ports listening (so it seems).

Here is the output of netstats -pant:

# netstat -pant

Now could this simply be due to the fact that the OS versions are
different? Is this a lost cause?

DNK

I highly doubt it (but anything's possible), and no.

I wouldn't trust vqadmin at all, but some folks say it's ok for looking
things up.

My first guess would be MySQL grants. Did you run the mysqladmin commands in
the cnt50-svcs.sh script? I would expect so since you can retrieve
information with /home/vpopmail/bin/vuserinfo. Is the password there the
same as what's in /home/vpopmail/etc/vpopmail.mysql ?

(Hey, it's just a guess)

Nice catch!!!
Although vi isn't showing the ^M, the bottom of the VI console shows
[dos]. I ran it through dos2unix, now VI doesn't show [dos] and the log
after EZMLM insert doesn't show the ?.

I did have to delete and recreate the corrupt list since to get rid of the
bad addresses.

OK, I guess it's time for me to make a wiki account and add to the "EZMLM
bulk add".

Thanks Eric!!

It's left over history from the ancient distros. In the event someone
wants to use a legacy distro, I leave it up in case they need it. It
will not be in the next version as it is no longer needed and the new
version will not include legacy distros.

Good (imho). What about djbdns? I'd like to see that go by the wayside
as well, given that it's not a *-toaster package.

Was your input file possibly a DOS format? If you edit in in vi, do you
see ^M at the end of each line? If so, then it is.

You can use the dos2unix command to get rid of the ^M at the end of each
line.

Very strange. If it held the subscribers in a simple text file somewhere

It's left over history from the ancient distros. In the event someone
wants to use a legacy distro, I leave it up in case they need it. It
will not be in the next version as it is no longer needed and the new

Yes, it will be fine. You don't need the zlib that's on the toaster
site. That particular zlib is left over from very long ago when some of
the distros didn't have a new enough version.

It suit my need, but I am not sure for others.
Anyhow, I share it in:

Please help me to make it more common.

I have never used the conversion myself, so I cannot say how well it
works. You may need to script something that dumps the email and

Hopefully someone else out there has used the conversion program and can

What does 'rpm -qa | grep toaster | sort" show?
courier-authlib (and courier-imap for that matter) will take a LONG time
to compile. They're very complicated.

[qmailtoaster] fedora 10 - courier-authlib-toaster compilation problem

2009-02-23 Thread BePo
Hello,

When I compile qmail toaster on fedora 10 with the current install script,
the compilation hang here :

--

Installing courier-imap-toaster-4.1.2-1.3.8.src.rpm
error: Failed build dependencies:
courier-authlib-toaster is needed by
courier-imap-toaster-4.1.2-1.3.8.src
error: File not found by glob:
/root/rpmbuild/RPMS/i386/courier-imap-toaster*.rpm
Installing autorespond-toaster . . .
Shall we continue? (yes, skip, quit) [y]/s/q:

--

I have tried to rebuild the rpm manualy with :

rpmbuild --rebuild --with fedora_10
courier-authlib-toaster-0.59.2-1.3.7.src.rpm

But the program is checking again and again :s It's like a neverending loop,
when I press ctrl+c, the compilation start and then stop at :

[qmailtoaster] vpasswd --> mysql

2009-02-23 Thread Adi Nugroho
Dear all,

I am migrating qmailrocks to qmailtoaster.
In qmailrocks, user database were saved in vpasswd and vpasswd.cdb files on
every domains directory.

In qmailtoaster, user database is saved in mysql.

So, we have convert it.

On internet, I found that the syntax for migrating vpasswd to mysql is
vconvert -c -m domainname
I have tried it, but failed.
it says
converting domainname done
but nothing added in mysql.

Can anybody suggest me how to do it?

Regards,
Adi Nugroho
