Re: [qmailtoaster] qtp-sa-update error at cron.daily

2018-12-10 Thread Sean Murphy
I'm seeing this as well.  Also on a CentOS 5.11 machine.  I assume it's
because of an update to a newer version of Spamassassin that is
incompatible with the older version that's installed on 5.11.

It should be the next sa-update, but this is not the case with me. It's
been throwing these errors everyday, once a day, for about 3-4 days and
hasn't stopped. I've been running the same version of spamassassin on
this server months, so I can likely exclude that as the problem.

I'll ask again on the SA mailing list.

It’s probably worth doing (thank you, Eric), but it doesn’t seem to have
resolved the issue with the missing databases.

It looks to me as if one of the signature providers, SecuriteInfo, has
withdrawn some of their databases.

I’ve tried a new manual fix, which is to edit:

/etc/clamav-unofficial-sigs.conf

and set the ‘si_dbs’ variable to just:

si_dbs=“
securiteinfo.hdb
securiteinfohtml.hdb

I’ll let you know if that turns out to fix the issue.

clamav-toaster-0.98.4-1.4.8 and spamassassin-toaster-3.3.2-1.4.3. So
there are several updates between mine and the latest.

Is it ok to rpm -Uvh the latest clamav and spamassassin or should I
do each do each update in between mine and the latest?

Also I don't use dovecot, never had a reason to change as things
have always worked well. Is that going to cause any problems with
these updates?

Gary,

[Q]tp-newmodel is for CentOS 5 and is no longer being supported as far
as I know. I am creating rpms for QTP from the latest source (tar.gz)
available for CentOS 5 (x86 and x86_64) and they are on my ftp site,
here ftp://ftp.whitehorsetc.com/pub/qmail/CentOS5/qmt/rpms/.

Re: [qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel

You could try this...

rpm -Uvh --test spamassassin-toaster-3.4.1-1.4.5.x86_64.rpm

rpm -Uvh --test clamav-toaster-0.98.7-1.4.11.x86_64.rpm

This will tell you what if anything is missing.
Spamassassin for generates a Geo::IP error. Trying to install
Geo::IP from CPAN generates a mass of errors.

Not to be contrary, but CentOS 5 is not out of date..., yet. There is
support for it for another 2 years. I'm running 2 servers with CentOS 5.
Of all the versions currently available, I like it best and I've had the
least number of problems with it. Grrrwhy the continual upgrades?
The RPM's I provide on my FTP site for the QTP are not available on EPEL
as it would not have the configuration that is specific to a QT server.
I'd like to put my rpms up on qtp.qmailtoaster.com so they'd be
available with qtp-newmodel, but I don't know how. Anyway, that's life.
I plan on making the rpms for CentOS 5 available until sometime past its
end-of-life, maybe longer. I still have a CentOS 4 toaster that's
running strong and doing a sufficient job for that client.

Eric, double thumbs up to that!! I totally agree and thanks for all
the hard work. Also thanks to Tony for the good suggestion on
testing the RPMs first. Like you I found the perl modules missing. I
know I could find the latest for those in cpan, but I like to keep
things in RPMs.

So I found the perl modules on rpmforge which I have a yum channel
for that I mostly keep disabled unless I need something. So a yum
--enablerepo=rpmforge install perl-Geo-IP perl-Net-CIDR-Lite fixed
that.

Then I installed the RPMs from Eric's site and all appears to be
good.

As for Dovecot, I've looked through those before but since I don't
have any problems with my current installation I'm not going to rock
the boat unless I need to.

Gary,

I have the latest rpms on my business server but haven't yet installed
them on my client's business server, I haven't had, or made, the time.
They seem to be working fine, though on mine. If Courier is working fine
for you, You shouldn't have to change to Dovecot with the new updates,
the only reason I went to Dovecot is that my client needed a shared
email folder, for which Courier, to my knowledge, had no option. That
said, Dovecot is actively supported and has many options. Also, Dovecot
is now the standard for QTP. The upgrade is fairly easy. It was seemless
for me.

There shouldn't be any issue doing a direct upgrade, but following
Tony's suggestion is recommended. These updates are unlikely to
interfere with your courier installation. However, dovecot is better
suited for large mailbox sizes and is generally faster. There is a
process to change from courier to dovecot, in the event that you want to
do that. The process for dovecot 1.x is found here:

Gary,

[Q]tp-newmodel is for CentOS 5 and is no longer being supported as far as I know. I am creating rpms for QTP from
the latest source (tar.gz) available for CentOS 5 (x86 and x86_64) and they are on my ftp site, here
ftp://ftp.whitehorsetc.com/pub/qmail/CentOS5/qmt/rpms/.

Thanks Eric, yea I'm still running CentOS 5. I know, it's out of date, but with security updates it's still a fine
platform for my mail server! I'll check out your ftp site. Are these in a yum repo some where? Or added to EPEL?

  Gary,

Not to be contrary, but CentOS 5 is not out of date..., yet.
There is support for it for another 2 years. I'm running 2
servers with CentOS 5. Of all the versions currently
available, I like it best and I've had the least number of
problems with it. Grrrwhy the continual upgrades? The
RPM's I provide on my FTP site for the QTP are not available
on EPEL as it would not have the configuration that is
specific to a QT server. I'd like to put my rpms up on
  qtp.qmailtoaster.com so they'd be available with qtp-newmodel,
but I don't know how. Anyway, that's life. I plan on making
the rpms for CentOS 5 available until sometime past its
end-of-life, maybe longer. I still have a CentOS 4 toaster
that's running strong and doing a sufficient job for that
  client.

  EricB.

Eric, double thumbs up to that!! I totally agree and thanks for
all the hard work. Also thanks to Tony for the good suggestion
on testing the RPMs first. Like you I found the perl modules
missing. I know I could find the latest for those in cpan, but I
like to keep things in RPMs.

So I found the perl modules on rpmforge which I have a yum
channel for that I mostly keep disabled unless I need something.
So a yum --enablerepo=rpmforge install perl-Geo-IP
perl-Net-CIDR-Lite fixed that.

Then I installed the RPMs from Eric's site and all appears to be
good.

As for Dovecot, I've looked through those before but since I
don't have any problems with my current installation I'm not
going to rock the boat unless I need to.

Thanks, Gary

Ah, thanks for that Tony. I have epel set up the same way, not sure
why I used rpmforge as a first try. So a yum --enablerepo=epel
update  updated those. I usually only try rpmforge if I can't find
something.

Re: [qmailtoaster] clamav or qmailtoaster - qtp

2015-03-30 Thread Eric Broch
Sorry, Jason,

I'm not sure what AWS AMI's, 2014.09, or 2015.03 are.

The only thing I really understood is that you're running QMT on
CentOS5...I think. If this is the case and you have built all your
packages from source, manually, you could install qmailtoaster-plus and
update automatically using qtp-update from the command line or if you
prefer from qtp-menu, but be aware that the site from which these
scripts obtain packages is no longer actively maintained, as far as I
know, and you're update may not be the latest and greatest.

The latest and greatest QMT is on CentOS6 for which a link is posted in
this thread.

the questions and how they're resolved. Is there anyone out
there in the QMT community who is running QMT/CentOS 6 in a

One issue that I've run into with QMT/CentOS6 on my failover
host is the inability to send email after a restart of the
named service when the nameserver address in /etc/resolv.conf
is the IP address of the QMT host itself. The error in my
 submission file looks like this:

 error
 /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw: error while loading shared
libraries: libmysqlclient.so.15: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
 /error

And, I can't send email until I reinstall vpopmail using yum,
then everything starts working again. There may be another
solution but I've not found it. Anyway, I'm investigating
that now. This should not be happening. I found this problem
while trying to help Fabian Santiago on an issue he was
 having with QMT/CentOS6.

Anyway QMT/CentOS6 is the latest and greatest and is

[qmailtoaster] qtp-report-spam attachment problems

2014-12-04 Thread Kevin Katz
I've recently run into an issue where the attachments sent to SpamCop
through Spamassassin's SpamCop plug-in and qtp-report-spam have been either
empty or the attachment has been folded into up to 10 other attachments. I'd
say about 20% of the time, the report will send properly but the rest of the
time the report has one of the issues above. Anyone know where I should
start looking to find out what's going on?

I had this set up and working about a year ago but had turned it off for one
reason or the other, but I kept all of the original configurations. I've
been flooded with spam lately so I decided to turn it back on but ran into
this issue.

Thank You

Kevin Katz

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup not taking complete backup

Hi All,

qtp-backup not working, see the following details,

1. My /home partition was full. So I insert second HDD in my server

2. Mount new hdd on /email

3. rename /home/vpopmail/domains as domains_old

4. create folder in /email/domains.

5. create a softlink in /home/vpopmail/ and link it to /email/domains/
(domains - /email/domains/)

6. rsync mails form old domain to /email/domains

/email/domains folder size is 223G. But the size of my tar.gz is only 54MB

It's not taking complete backup.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup won't work

2014-04-05 Thread Peter Peterse
Hello list,

on my qtp installation the backup doesn't work any more. I don't
remember that I've change something in the script, so maybe it's an
issue one of the yum update processes.

I've trace the issue to the next command which is located in the script:
tar -C $backupdest \
-czf $backupdest/$curlfile $DATENAME-*

When I start the command on the console it result to an error:
[root@mail ~]# tar -C /backup/qmailbkup -czf
/backup/qmailbkup/201404052008-backup.tar.gz 201404052008-*
tar: 201404052008-*: Cannot stat: No such file or directory
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

When I look in the directory /backup/qmailbkup I see the next files:
201404052008-assign.tar.bz2
201404052008-backup.tar.gz

The problem is that I don't see the difference with command which is
also in the qtp-backup script:
  tar -C /var/lib/squirrelmail/prefs \

I hope one of you can see the problem.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-sa-update stops message delivery?

2013-10-08 Thread Brent Gardner
On my toasters, qtp-sa-update executes every day at 4:02am. This stops
then restarts spamassassin.

Will this interfere with delivery of mail?

A message was sent from a gmail address to an address on one of my
toasters this morning.

The sender got a bounce: 550 5.1.1 sorry, no mailbox here by that name
(chkuser)

Checking chkuser entries in the toaster's smtp log
(/var/log/qmail/smtp/current), I see that chkuser created the reject log
entry at 4:02am.

The mailbox definitely exists and is used regularly.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel fails with a symlinked domain dir

2013-08-22 Thread Peter Peltonen
Hi,

I have a toaster box that was upgraded from COS4 to COS5. It had only one
domain and what I did was I symlinked the domain from the partition having
the COS4 installation:

# pwd
/home/vpopmail/domains

# ls -lah mydomain.dom
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 Apr 4 2012 mydomain.dom -
/mnt/cos4_root/home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.dom

Apparently qtp-newmodel does not like this:

Installing qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.22 in the sandbox ...

What else can I do than move the directory to the same partition to get the
toaster upgraded?

Re: [qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel issue

If all else fails, you could always download them manually with wget or
even from your PC and the scp the package to your server.

Strange how it resolves correctly, but can't find the data. Are you sure
the servers weren't just having issues at that time? Maybe try again.

if not, where can I get the info about?

Hi Giuseppe,
The QTP configuration only includes configuration for http. Assuming
you have a valid certificate for your webmail host, you can reference
the Apache docs for setting up HTTPS for your server.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel and non-standard packages

2012-08-05 Thread Angus McIntyre
The release of the new toaster (thank you, Eric) has made me eager to
upgrade to the latest and greatest.

But ... I have upgraded a couple of packages (ssh, php) past their
expected/approved version for CentOS 5. As a result, when I try to
install, I get:

Missing Dependency: php-common = 5.1.6-39.el5_8 is needed by package
php-ldap-5.1.6-39.el5_8.x86_64

and

Missing Dependency: openssh = 4.3p2-82.el5 is needed by package
openssh-askpass-4.3p2-82.el5.x86_64

and

   Error: mysql55 conflicts with mysql

I currently have:

   php-common.x86_64 5.3.15-1.w5
   openssh.x86_64 5.9p1-1

There will now be a brief pause while you all shake your heads sadly and
say Well, that's why we told you not to do that. You have only yourself
to blame.

Which is true, but my questions are:

a. Am I totally screwed, or is there a workaround that will allow me to
install anyway? (FWIW, everything in QMT works just fine with my
non-standard system currently).

b. Is there a safe/easy way to move back to earlier versions? (this is
more a yum/rpm question than a QMT question, but I thought I'd ask
anyway).

Any helpful hints and advice gratefully received. Thanks,

Angus

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup mysqldump

2012-04-24 Thread Eric Broch
Hello list,

Has anyone seen the following error from 'mysqldump' when doing a
qtp-backup:

mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'show fields from `mydomain_com`': Got error 28
from storage engine (1030)

It did not happen when I just ran it from the command line, and it only started
about 5 days ago. I've never seen the error before.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup - ezmlm lists??

Hi Eric,

ezmlm stuff will appear as an individual user folder within the domain. The
folder has the name of the mailing list and all relevant content will be stored
in special subfolders.

So, backing up all domains will also backup ezmlm!

Martin

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel and mirrors timing out

2012-01-03 Thread Peter Peltonen
Just ran qtp-newmodel to update one of my servers and ran into this:

Connecting to mirrors.qmailtoaster.net|68.115.175.140|:80... failed:
Connection timed out.

This is okay as qtp-newmodel then tried out the next mirror. But what
I found out a bit frustrating was that with the next package the
mirror 68.115.175.140 was tried again and then qtp-newmodel needed to
wait for the timeout again. I think it would be better if after the
first timeout the server would be blacklisted for this run?

Another issue I encountered:

qtp-dependencies v0.3.0
qtp-install-rpmforge v0.3.1 - getting latest version of rpmforge-release ...
qtp-install-rpmforge -
http://svn.rpmforge.net/svn/trunk/rpms/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release.spec
not found, please try again later.

This shouldn't happen, right? Although I already had rpmforge installed ok:

# rpm -qa |grep rpmforge
rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el5.rf

And in the end I got this:

umount: /mnt/qtp-sandbox/usr: device is busy
umount: /mnt/qtp-sandbox/usr: device is busy
qtp-umount-sandbox: Error: sandbox still mounted

and mount tells me:

/opt/qtp-overlay/usr on /mnt/qtp-sandbox/usr type fuse (rw,default_permissions)

This was probably because I was tailing
mnt/qtp-sandbox/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/log/build-recent.log in another
console window (as suggested). After stopping that umount worked ok,
but perhaps the user should be informed about the probable cause and
how to fix it?

Anyhow, its nice to have qtp-newmodel around as it makes updating quite easy!

Best,
Peter

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup

2011-03-29 Thread Scott Hughes
I was just curious. I am testing qtp-backup to see how long it runs. I'm
currently at 1 hour and 25 minutes and still going. Current directory
(/backup/qmailbkup) size is 7.2 Gig (/home/vpopmail/domains is 16 Gig
uncompressed). Is this normal? Am I running to correct/best/fastest backup
script?

My goal here is to put qtp-backup (or the best backup script) into a cron
job that runs every night, then after waiting MORE than the amount of time
it takes to run the qtp-backup script, rsync the backup file(s) over to a
another server.

Thanks,

Scott

RE: [qmailtoaster] qtp-backup

2011-03-29 Thread Patrick Ring
I find it has been server-dependant (...age, load, amount of storage).
My storage is about half of what you have, and I know it seems to take
around :45mins. ...though the servers here are not new by any means (HP
Proliant DL320 G3's).

The process, if I remember correctly, makes the copy of the data by
using a compression statement (tar/gz). It could be the compression
that is taking a while (especially on older equipment).

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel issue

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel sandbox error

2011-03-11 Thread Dan McAllister
Greetings all... once again, I am being dumbfounded by qtp-newmodel. I
must just be missing something (been a long time since I've felt this
stupid about something!)

Here's the lastest output from my log file -- clearly it's looking for
qtp-overlay in /etc/mtab and it's not finding it... I thought for a
while it was a dkms-fuse error, but even after I found a copy of that
package, it still won't run...

Any ideas anyone???

Oh... and PLEASE don't quote this entire file when you reply!

Thanks in advance for any help or direction!

Basically your CentOS version is deprecated and the packages you are
asking for are no longer available. Browsing to one of the paths you
were trying to get to:

 http://mirror.raystedman.net/centos/5.3/
You are provided this readme:

--start--

This directory (and version of CentOS) is depreciated. For normal users,
you should use /5/ and not /5.3/ in your path. Please see this FAQ
concerning the CentOS release scheme:

http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=34

If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 5.3
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.

--end--

You could try manually rebuilding the packages, or wait until you do the full
OS upgrade.

Not sure how old of versions of packages your on, but I imagine if you update
clamav, squirrelmail, and
qmailadmin you will be fine.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel upgrade fail dependencies on CentOS 5.3

2011-02-28 Thread Sue Jones
Hello,

I am trying to update some of my qmailtoaster files using qtp-newmodel, but am
running into a problem because we are running it on CentOS 5.3 and getting an
error when installing the dependencies (see output below).

Is there a way to work around to get the dependencies installed without
upgrading the whole OS? (I will be doing that down the road, but need to update
the qmailtoaster files now.)

I did find that the CentOS 5.3 files are at http://vault.centos.org/ but am not
sure where I would change the qtp-newmodel script to go to that location for
the dependencies.

I have been googling and looking thru the maillist archives but not seeing a
solution.

Thanks in advance.

[qmailtoaster] QTP NewModel and CentOS

2011-02-27 Thread Dan McAllister

Greetings all...

I've been using QTP almost since its inception -- I love most of the
scripts and find most to be refreshingly robust.

I say most, because I did another QMT install this weekend and decided
to spend a little time trying to debug an error I've had from the beginning:
On a CentOS 5 x86_64 install that is upgraded from an older version to
CentOS 5.5, the qtp-newmodel script consistently fails to mount a
unioned sandbox.

I know there are issues with CentOS 5 due to the merging of FUSE in
general into the mainline kernel during the CentOS 5 lifetime.
Furthermore, I am aware that the dkms-fuse package has been removed from
the rpmforge repository entirely. But I can get around those. The issue
seems to be with the script mounting /opt/qtp-overlay and it not showing
up in /etc/mtab.

Quite honestly, since I wrote my own update/install script BEFORE I used
QTP, I have in the past just used my script to do the install, then use
the QTP scripts to manage it after that. But I'd sure like to get to the
bottom of this -- even if CentOS 6 comes out in a month or two, I don't
intent to upgrade to it before 2012... so any help would be GREATLY
appreciated.

I can provide traces and logs to anyone familiar with the qtp-sandbox
for union-fs and how it's supposed to work.

Thanks in advance.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-newmodel build fail

2011-01-05 Thread Randy Katz

Hi,

I am trying to do the upgrade qtp-newmodel and am getting this failure,
did a search do not have any results about it:

+ cd /usr/src/redhat/BUILD
+ rm -rf djbdns-1.05
+ exit 0
Installing djbdns-1.05-1.0.6 in the sandbox ...
error: Failed dependencies:
djbdns-extcache conflicts with djbdns-1.05-1.0.6.i686

djbdns-localcache conflicts with djbdns-extcache-1.05-1.0.6.i686
djbdns-extcache conflicts with djbdns-localcache-1.05-1.0.6.i686

Is there a way to figure out all the dependencies without having to do a
rebuild of the sandbox each time? I notice when I

do NOT rebuild the sandbox it fails right away.

Thank you in advance,
Randy Katz

Is there something I've missed, or are the repos affected by the

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup issue

2010-06-22 Thread David Milholen

When I run qtp-backup I do not get an email saying its completed and I
also do not see the postmaster account and some of the other accounts
on any of my domains.
When a restore is complete the domains argue about not having a
postmaster account. I view them in admin-toaster and where the
postmaster password should be it says "This Domain has no postmaster"
also some of other accounts are missing.
I am not sure but this looks like it could be a file indexing issue
when coping large directories.
I am digging deeper an reviewing the logs looking at the health of the
drive as well.
I am all ears to any suggestions on help for a fix.
If I can just get a good backup I can blow the old one away and
replace the drives.

[qmailtoaster] qtp-backup

I am having a little trouble with the backup script not backing up all
the accounts in one of my oldest domains.
One of the accounts is the postmaster account. So when I do a restore
I have to manually copy the account over to the new server.
there are some other accounts missing too. There should be 272 accounts
but only 120 show up after restore.
Did something break or did I break it:)

This is the version QMT for the old machine:qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.15
;centos 4.8 with latest updates.
This is the version QMT for the new machine:qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.20

I have 4 blow away servers to test these caveats on before I mess with
the production machine again.
