Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Sirius Radio?
That's the good news. The bad news is that it will reboot the radio periodically. Sometimes you can play a Sirius stream for a couple of hours, other times it will reboot after 20 minutes. The problem has existed for a while, and is still present in the latest firmware. I'm not sure why it is not being addressed. [SlimDevices: Radio] Changing the volume level of the fallback alarm
I've heard it mentioned that there is a way to lower the volume level of the fallback alarm but I can't find the post. Currently my alarm volume is set to 20 which is perfect for the Internet radio streams I want to wake up to. The problem is all too often the fallback kicks in and its volume level is much louder than the 20 that the internet streams play at. Is there a way to lower the fallback level relative to the alarm level? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Streaming Sirius for 5-20 mins makes the Radio REBOOT
Of all the quirks in the SB software, this one is the worst for me. On both my Radio and Touch I'm unable to play a Sirius stream for much more than an hour (usually about an hour and ten minutes on my Touch) before the stream stops and the radio/touch reboots. Based upon the date on the OP, this has been a long standing problem. Right now I'm on 7.5.2 (due to SBS hangs), but I know the problem also happens at 7.5.3, I haven't (dared) try 7.5.4 or 7.6 yet. Does anyone know what the specific issue is? Will Logitech ever fix the problem? It sure would be nice to play a stream for more than an hour with incurring a reboot. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio tower constantly showing
It's a mySB.com issue for sure. I gave up a while back and conceded to having my own server. I bought an eMachine for $350 and use the Server Power Control add-in to sleep the machine when it doesn't have an active connection. While it does solve a lot of problems, you really should be able to count on SB in the Cloud. Here's one more thing to try to get the artwork. While playing the stream press Home, Stop (long press pause), select Now Playing, and then Play. This is only practical if you listen to the same steam for a long period of time. If you are jumping around it's too much overhead. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio tower constantly showing
I gave up on mySB.com and now use my own server. I'm not sure what causes the issue, or why it doesn't happen on all streams, but it seemed to happen on most of the ones I like. Logitech doesn't seem to be in a hurry to fix it which added to my motivation. I'm not sure why rebooting the radio helped. In my case it was pretty consistent. [SlimDevices: Radio] Playlist Issue
I've run across some very strange behavior with my SB Radio. I created a playlist using the SB Server Web interface of 12 songs from different albums. To start the playlist I select it with the wheel, then select the first song. The album art is displayed as is the play arrow, but the music does not play. I've found a work around in using the play button while the playlist name is selected. This behavior is very differnt from everything else in the UI. Normally pushing the wheel while displaying a song or radio station plays that item. Is this a bug in 7.5.2, or do I just not understand the SqueezeOS UI? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Lost Art Work
kloach;615032 Wrote: Suddenly my radio doesn't display the artwork for the selected preset radio stations, I just get the default radio tower. I tried restoring factory settings and installing everything again, didn't help. I do get the artwork when using the squeezebox server but not when using squeezbox.com. Any ideas on what I can try. Thanks I'm new to Squeezebox (12/2010) but this has been a problem for me all along. I finally gave in and setup a SBS and never looked back. There is a trick to get the art work but it involves extra key strokes every time you change the stream. After selecting a stream push Stop, Home, Now Playing, then Play. It appears to be some kind of timing issue between the device and mySqueezebox.com. There is a bug logged for it, if that means anything. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio hangs SB Server
I downgraded to 7.5.2 and so far the problem is gone. I saw a post over on the Logitech forums with the same issue and that's what that person did to resolve it. So apparently there's a bug in 7.5.3 that some users hit but not others. [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio hangs SB Server
I'm having an issue where my SB Radio (7.5.3 latest) is causing all my SB servers (Touch and 2 PCs running Win7 x64) to hang. At first I thought the issue was the TinySB on the Touch, but now I'm having the same issue with my 2 PCs. Both PCs are wired, and the Radio is wireless with a 100% signal. I'll start the SB server and connect the radio (switch library). Within a few minutes the SB server will start consuming 50% CPU and become unresponsive to requests. I can restart the server (I actually have to terminate the process from task manager, or in the case of the Touch, reboot) but within a few minutes of reconnecting the server will hang. I've reset the radio to factory defaults and I'll do some more testing tonight. The radio seems to work fine when connected to mysqueezebox.com so I don't understand why it is hanging my local servers. Any thoughts or suggestions? -- steve781 steve781's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85877 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio Alarm Questions/Issues
I have been using multiple alarms for the last month with pretty good results. I have alarm 1 set for Mon-Fri 6AM and alarm 2 for Sat/Sun 9AM. I play a stream from Favorites that is a commercial FM station (KFOG). I'm on the latest firmware and I use mySB as the server. My problems begin after the alarm is triggered which is a positive. How should I shut the alarm off? If I use the dial and select turn off alarm, the alarm will shut off until 6:01 and then it will start playing the stream again. It seems like turning off the alarm should disable it until the next day, not the next minute. I've also tried hitting the power button, but I get the same result. On the other hand, if I let the alarm play (let's say I like the song), it will shut off at 6:01. I know it's a nit, but I'm hoping I have configured something wrong and I can correct this behavior. -- steve781 steve781's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84873 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] AAC Format not found on mySqueezebox.com
I have a Squeezebox Duet and Radio. The Duet needs a Squeezebox Server to play AAC format streams but the Radio plays them natively. When I search for Internet Radio streams using the SBS it shows all streams, but when I search MSB it will not display AAC streams even if it is the Radio doing the search. It seems like either all formats should be returned in the search, or, the search results should vary depending on the capabilities of the Squeezebox. Right now I have to find the stream using SBS, and copy/paste the link into Favorites on MSB. Is there any way around this?
