Is there a reason why the fda would outlaw Red Yeast if
it helps? Is this for monetary reasons as well?

   It works very well.

I had a young friend in Atlanta, a few years back whose cholesterol was
a bit high.
He was walking 25 miles per week and could bench press 300 pounds, Very
Active, and not exactly the time bomb the doctor suggested.

I sent him some of the Red Rice Yeast product.

He took it for a month, lowered his cholesterol 100 points. Then he went
back to the doctor and did not tell him that he had not taken the
prescribed medication.

Not sure what he accomplished by doing this or why? He works in a side
arm of the medical profession so I guess he was playing games.

I do have a reaction to niacin, a skin flushing sort of thing, feels very
hot and itchy.Extremely unpleasant and can last for a very long time (24 or
more hours). It is bad enough itself, but it also sets off my eczema,
perhaps the flushing is a histamine reaction itself, or it sets off the
histamine reaction of eczema. I have often seen Niacinamide recommended to
take instead, as Bill mentions, but it gives me much the same reaction.

Hi,
Well what is considered "normal" blood pressure is 120/80 or now 130/90
is also acceptable. I recently had a woman enter our gym and she had
165/85 this would be considered high. So I would say anything
consistently 140 and up would be considered high.

Hi Betsy,

yes you are correct. the medical system and the FDA are buddies and they are
all profiting from disease. If they allow things that cures people then they
loose business

The main principles governing the pharmaceutical “business with disease.” It is
not in the financial interests of the pharmaceutical industry to prevent common
diseases – the maintenance and expansion of diseases is a precondition for the
financial growth of this industry.
Hospitals and doctors are just a distribution arm of the big pharma business
with disease.

my 2 cents
i read once of a very well researched study on heart attacks,
cholesterol, and cholesterol lowering drugs.

seemed those on the drugs had less heart attacks, but died as frequently.
seems the lower cholesterol -or the drugs- made them more angry and
impulsive.

they died at higher rates than controls of murder, accident, and suicide.
believe it.

High cholesterol has never been linked to heart disease.
The whole thing is a sham propagated by Big Industry.

The link to heart disease is one of OXIDATION. The proof is that
equal numbers of people with normal cholesterol and with high
cholesterol get heart disease.

People whose cholesterol is high from eating saturated fats but not
the oxidizing unsaturated fats do not have plaque deposits.

Conversely, those who eat the unsaturated fats presented by the Heart
and Stroke Foundation do get plugged up.

Further proof exists in the form of a study published in Lancet that
analysed the actual plaque. It is composed of 74% unsaturated and
polyunsaturated fats, oils from your diet.

To find out what the world's most published cholesterol researcher
says about it, read the well-referenced Cholesterol Myths by Uffe
Ravnskov M.D. Ph.D. at:
http://www.ravnskov.nu/myth1.htm

To find out how we were maneuvered into thinking "cholesterol is
bad", see the well-referenced The Oiling Of America by the world's
foremost oils researcher Mary Enig:
http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/oiling.html

This ploy by Big Pharma and it's quasi-authoritative lapdog the Heart
and Stroke Foundation is reminiscent of Hitler's saying about the
bigger the lie the easier it is to get the population to believe it.

Don't you believe it.

How to LOWER cholesterol, first IF we look as to why the body produces
cholesterol we would find it is the bodies attempt to HEAL. Number ONE
culprits are grains, sugar and starches these trigger off insulin production
that damages the walls of the arteries and the body then PRODUCES
cholesterol to repair the damage.

So the true trick to lowering cholesterol production is to lower the
quick release carbs that are CAUSING THE PROBLEM!!!

Omega 3's helps lower the free radicals (they also damage the walls) so
it is helpful as well. but the main thing is to lower the carbs!!!
Now the reason to take vit B's is the sugars and starches also lower
them as well as the Omega 3's. But in either case lowering grains, sugar
and starches are the way to solve a LOT of health problems not just
cholesterol.

It will also lower inflammation (often the cause of pain) so there is a
lot of incentive if you are sick or want to be healthier to lower the grains
(wheat being the worse of the grains by the way)

Some people, i am told have a skin reaction of some sort.
My sister does and was advised to take Niacinamide instead.
Lorna Vanderheaghe has a site at www.healthyimmunity.com
that I believe you can e-mail questions to or search the site.
A health food store should have information on this also.
