Well, this isn't diet related, but I've founda mosquito "zapper" keeps
the bugs away - mosquitos, chiggers, and others. I spend a lot of
evening hours in my garden, and without this little electronic gizmo I'm
also a bug magnet. With it they pretty much leave me alone. I just
clip it onto my shirt, runs on a battery. Bought mine at the local
hardware store - they seem to be available a lot of places these days.
i have wondered what else they might be effecting?? But they do seem to
get the bugs to stay away. Joy

I'm hoping some of you people can help me solve a problem I'm having. It
seems that I'm a bug magnet, and now that we've decided to spend more
time
outdoors, I get bitten all the time.

I have lupus related arthritis, and MSM keeps me nearly painfree.
Without it I am quite incapacitated - unable to walk without severe
pain. I take a heaping tablespoon of MSM daily, just dissolving it as
well as it will in a bit of water, rinsing it down with more water.
When I have any pain, such as after exposure to sun or damp earth, I

take more. Relieves the pain within an hour usually.

Lupus is more a set of symptoms, not one homogeneous condition. it
effects everyone differently. Usually arthritis is present. Usually

asthma is present. Many many other factors, some have, others don't.

I`d like to know what the usual

symptoms are. but now what do I do for all the aches??

Re: CS>Fed handling of dietary supplement Ephedra

2003-08-25 Thread Sara Joy

I can check with the chemists but I believe that meth is easy enough to
make from fairly easily obtained and inexpensive base chemicals that using
commerical pills as a starter would not be economical.
It's a dangerous process but not a hard one.

Are you sure they're making "methamphetamine" and not just concentrating
pseudo-ephedrine into a crystaline form?

They are definately making meth. And they are definately using
pseuphedrine and other cold pills as part of the base - takes other
chemicals as well. Smells like a sewer when they make the stuff - set
up labs often in temporary sites, like rent a hotel room for a week,
move when folks start complaining about the smell. Do it in a mobil
home that they keep moving. That kind of thing. Mobil home or hotel
rental work well since they have to move around to get enough of the
pseuphedrine. Cops are finding labs by watching the pseuphedrine sales
- mandatory reporting on multiple packages bought at one store. All
sales videorecorded. They track back from the sale to find the buyer,
and trace the lab from that. Its the new cash "crop" of SEK. Lots of
burnt out farmers have a lab going in a back barn There may be
other ways for chemists to get the chemicals, but around here either
folks don't know how to get the stuff another way, or this is the
only"recipe" they know. Its big business around here. Joy

Re: CS>Fed handling of dietary supplement Ephedra

2003-08-23 Thread Sara Joy

Is there a difference between the herb ephedrine and the synthesized
chemical ephedrine..as in the analog chemical pseudo-ephedrine used for
cold pills ..by big bucks 'over the counter' interests who are always
trying to get drugs approved so you don't have to get an expensive
prescription from the big bucks medical establishment? [and sold 'as'
methamphetamine by unscuplulous dealers to people who don't know the
difference between a cold pill, meth, caffine pills and any other form of
stimulant]

Here in SEK there are tons of little meth labs out in the rural areas.
They actually use the pseudophed tablets as part of the base of the
meth, mixed with various chemicals into a soup that is then crystalized
into meth. So they don't sell the cold pills instead of meth, they use
them in producing meth. Its one of the main ingredients. Thats why
those of us with legitimate allergic type need for pseudophed, or its
cheaper copycat versions, can only buy 24 or so at a time now - which I
often go through in 4 days, and is much more expensive than when I used
to be able to buy a bottle of 96 or more of them. Frustrating. Plus,
you have to buy it at the pharmacy window - its not on the shelves, so
you have to stand in line for fifteen minutes or so to get the stuff.
And if you're back within a week, which i am during allergy season, they
look at you real funny and ask questions. Groan. Joy

CS>DMSO- MSM

2003-08-08 Thread Sara Joy
I've read that MSM has the active igredients of DMSO, but you get it
without the garlic breath/smell - which I used to hate. And MSM does
work for me the same as DMSO used to, so my guess is it is true. I buy
MSM bulk, by 20+ pounds at a time, and its not horribly expensive that
way - I get it over the net. Check around - a lot of misinformation on
the net about MSM and purity, claiming certain kinds are "more" pure,
especially if they will fully dissolve in water. Not true. Would be
convenient, easier to take, but not more pure or effective. The kind I
take does not fully dissolve in water, unless it is a very small amount
- I take a tablespoon at a time in a quarter cup of water, and it only
partially dissolves. You just swallow it anyway and chase it with more
water. Joy

Re: CS>Fasting & Beck protocol update...

2003-08-06 Thread Sara Joy
Hi again. One addition to the liver-cleanse comment. I do them
regularly, and have improved "tolerance" for about 3 weeks afterwards,
till the next batch of "stones" are ready to go - the liver wraps toxins
it doesn't know what to do with into what the medical world calls gall
bladder stones after they calicify - usually in the gall bladder. The
average person has about 3000 of these in their liver. Each "flush"
clears out several hundred or so. Dr. Clark suggests doing the flush
every two weeks till they're all gone. However, using the Atkins diet
actually detoxes the body, many lingering toxins flush out, and can
overwhelm the liver, causing additional stones. So just one liver
cleanse/flush is probably not going to "fix" the food intolerances
permanently for you.Hard to do a Dr. Clark
cleanse on Atkins diet, becuase you can't have any fat on the day of the
flush, so you have to modify things somewhat. I eat low-fat protein
early in the day - like boiled or poached eggs, tuna in water with no
oil or mayonnaise, plus salad greens. Or you could just do a fast for
the day - not in Atkins protocol, but won't kill anyone for sure.

I did, on a Dr. Clark list recently, hear about another form of liver
cleanse, using a machine called a "rayocamp". I'll see if I can find
the post, and paste it in here.

"The device I use for testing and treatment is a Rayocomp PS100. I
wrote a report on this device shortly after I bought it last December
and now, having used it for some months, can confirm that it is the
equivalent of an automatic syncrometer plus a treatment device. It
will remove pathogens, toxins (including metals and PCB's) from the
system and get the organs and endocrine system functioning well. It
also treats allergies (15 minutes treatment for a mild allergy).
Since using this device I have been able to monitor my body properly
and clean it up in a way I just couldn't do before. I have cured my
Wilson's Syndrome (low blood temperature), a jaw infection, all my
allergies and dealt with many other problems. I now have the energy
levels I had in my twenties as my endocrine system is functioning
properly. I have also used it on some family and friends for things
like sciatica, chronic back pain, uterine problems, asthma , kidney
infection - all with amazing effect. It also has an acupuncture
facility (without needles). You can probably tell I'm pretty
impressed ! I also did the liver cleanse to end all liver cleanses
recently. For the first time I used the Rayocomp to test for stones
in the liver, bile bucts and gall bladder and for parasites in these
places (I took no parasite herbs or other supplements). I then
treated until all parasites tested negative before doing the cleanse
and gallstones had been treated (I assume they are either softened
or 'smashed' by the frequencies). I have never done a liver cleanse
like this one and I am now not showing any resonances to gallstones
at the sites mentioned. I feel so well.

Sorry if I've gone on a bit but this is some device. One of my
earlier reports was sent to Dr. Clark's brother (at his request) and
I believe Hulda has now seen a demonstration of this device. The only
BIG drawback is that getting training and advice in some parts of the
world is very difficult. The supplier in the USA will have equipment
sent to you directly from Germany but then you're on your own unless
you want to go and spend a day with them being shown how to use it.
You would not be able to use it to its full potential in a day and I
really don't know how informed the suppliers are to offer such
training. Having said all this, if anyone wants my report on the
device please contact me personally. If anyone goes ahead and buys
this device I have a list of about 50 questions and answers that I
can send to them that should answer many of their queries."

I lost 30 pounds on Atkins then nothing.

They're right when they say you'll slow down to nothing on "hidden
carbs." I'm saddened by just how tight the requirements really are.

They are only super tight on induction, which is only two weeks. AFter
that you start increasing by 5 grams a week till you find the level at
which you continue moderate weight loss - no more than 2 pounds a week,
or it is going too fast for your body to handle. Many people are able
to continue losing weight on 60 grams of carbs, which leaves quite a bit
of room - not for sugars or processed carbs for sure, but leaves much
more room for the hidden carbs in spices and conditments and such, which
can throw you off.

As to stalling, everyone has plateaus in weight loss, on any diet, as
your body readjusts to new levels. If you stick with it - can take a
couple months - the weight starts coming off again, UNLESS you have a
food intolerance that you haven't recognized. Atkins is not a generic
diet, it is highly individualized. Part of following Atkins as he wrote
it, is discovering which foods your body can handle and which it can't.
Many of us that have insulin resistance also cannot handle various
specific foods, which can trigger insulin surges even though they aren't
on the official no-no list. For some people this includes caffeine - a
very common insulin/glucose trigger food. For others it is one or more
of the artificial sweeteners - many folks can't handle these. The one
least people have trouble with is stevia. For others it is cheese, even
though it is officially allowed up to 4 ounces a day, some people won't
lose a pound, at all, as long as they eat ANY cheese. For others it is
eggs. You have to experiment, if you find yourself in a stall, to find
if its just a readjustment process or whether you have a food
intolerance that is slowing you down.

Good news is that cleansing your liver will improve your ability to
tolerate even the trouble foods, and make you less likely to stall on
them. Joy

Hi Orpha,

As I said before, he needs enough water, he needs his vegatables. He
needs not to use artificially sweetened "gallons" of koolaid rather than
water. He's not doing Atkins. Atkins also allows a maximum of 4 ounces
of cheese a day, and for many of us, none - those of us who are
intolerant of it. It "stalls" my weight loss inevtably, even if I was
doing everything else "right" and not eating more than the 4 ounces a
day allowed. Articial sweeteners also stall many people - though stevia
is less of a problem than any of the others. Anyways, its too bad he
doesn't care. Not much you can do about that... sadly. Joy

Hey, I may be on an Atkins diet and not know it?! : )

Hi Orpha, sounds like you've got a great diet! I too cringe at what you
describe your cousins are doing. Fresh raw greens are a necessity.
Pure water is a necessity. Very limited artificially sweetened
foods/liquids are allowed, - total of 3 packets, or 6 teaspoons of
splenda perday - equal to 6 teaspoons of regular sugar. But those
liquids do not replace the required water. Nor does tea or any other
beverage. Your body needs plain water to flush out what needs flushing
from the body, and especially from the kidneys. Please suggest your
cousins get and read the book, Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution. It
explains the why and how. Hope they get the message. What they are
doing is not healthful, and could be dangerous. But I guess you knew
that. Good to hear from you, Orpha Joy

Re: CS>Atkins diet Warning

2003-07-23 Thread Sara Joy
Orpha, I appreciate your concern. However, research, listed on the
Atkins site, shows that no long term damage is done when followed
correctly. I eat no meat, so its definately not a problem for me.
I'm getting my protein from soy products and eggs. And have to work to
get enough. But thousands and thousands of people eat this way, with
plenty of meat. Your kidneys can get in trouble IF you don't drink
enough water, which is part of the clear instructions with the diet. I
have to drink 14 glasses a day. People who don't drink the full amount
of water for the amount of weight they have to lose CAN get into
trouble. People who de drink sufficient water don't. The water flushes
out both the byproducts of the fat breakdown and the excess protein.
Another thing is, you're not eating tons of meat or protein on this
diet, because the fat intake and the ketosis suppresses your appetite,
considerably. Its hard to get down enough of any amount of food. After
the first two weeks - induction period - you up the levels
carbohydrates, slowly, simply never adding in back the junk food carbs.
And no grains. But abundant vegatables - I'm back to my 4 cups of
salad greens at a meal, and loving it. Fruits will come later. I've
never much liked cooked veggies, but I could substitute some of my salad
green for some of those. The long term benefits of losing the weight
are incredible, and discovering/curing various food addictions/allergins
you have along the way - many people have unknown addictions to many of
the grains, like wheat and corn. Plus, you do so getting ALL the
nutrients you need, after the first two weeks. And you do so
pleasantly, without getting hungry. People following the day usually
set up with one of the diet programs, like http://www.fitday.com which
breaks down the total of what your eating, letting you know anything you
are getting too much or too little of. By the time you have lost all
the weight you need to lose, and are on a maintenance diet, you are able
to eat a fruit each day, an occasional potato, mostly whatever you like
that keeps the carbs moderate enough not to regain the weight. Most
people that eat this diet don't ever change back to low fat diets, which
are FAR more damaging to the body than is Atkins. Yes, any change
creates a stress. But this is a very healthful way of life for many
people. Joy

Re: CS>OT ... Fat burning and "The Master Cleanse"

2003-07-23 Thread Sara Joy

Doesn't ketosis only indicate that fat is being converted to glucose? Or
does it mean that stored fat is being burned. Because if it is just fat, and
you are on a high fat diet, could it not simply mean that the fat being
burned is the fat in the diet?

It could, but research shows that when you are eating the atkins diet as
prescribed, you ARE burning stored fat, as well as spilling out any
extra you eat - which is why there is no problem with eating lots of it
- in fact, it helps, it satiates you completely, but you don't put on
weight. And the fact that you are burning fat is born out by the
scales - I eat an incredibly high fat diet - and am consistently losing
weight, 2-3 pounds a week of it. Joy

Makes sense to me. Even though I've been on the clark stuff for years,
I redid the full parasite cleanse, kidney cleanse, and liver cleanse
right before starting on Atkins, for the same reason. This diet can be
hard on the kidneys especially - though drinking plenty of fluid - in my
case, 14 glasses a day of it - groan - helps. Joy

I recall that the liver cleanse works better if you've done a parasite
cleanse in advance.

It doesn't just work better, she strongly suggests you not doing it
prior to doing a parasite cleanse, as not only won't it work well, it
also is likely to make you sick. however, you can make yourself a
zapper for under twenty bucks, the instructions are on her site, just do
a search for Dr. Hulda Clark. Not fancy, ut it works. I used a
homemade one for several years, effectively, before purchasing one, and
only then for the convenience factors. You can zap with this homemade
zapper daily for a week, and then do the liver cleanse. Joy

"Drop weight quickly" is different than "drop *FAT* quickly." That's
where you gotta be careful. Between fluid and muscle loss, you can drop
a lot of "weight" really fast, but that's not going to make you
healthier.

As an Atkins dieter/fan, I have to tell you that following the atkins
diet, both regular and the "fat" fast - eating cream cheese or other
high fat foods, 5 times a day, under 1000 calories, both do put and keep
you in ketosis. This is not water loss, muscle loss, JUST weight loss.
This is fat loss. The perfect thing about Atkins is that it is ONLY
the fat you lose, if you follow the diet as prescribed. The fat diet
that was previously described is done for a max of 10 days, for those
who have a very difficult time to get into ketosis. It works. Staying
under 15 grams keeps you in ketosis, even the hardest cases. Most of us
can do quite a bit more - start at 20 grams, go down if you have to, up
if you're able. You measure on a ketostix, to be certain you are
staying in ketosis. And as long as you are in ketosis, you do lose FAT,
and only fat. When you run out of fat to lose your body uses hhe
protein you are eating, converts it to glucose, which it can do, though
it prefers the carbs, and turns next to your fat reserves, going to the
protein you eat only as a last resort. And if you are doing the diet
correctly, by the time you get to that point, you are slowly adding
carbs, slowing down your weight loss, preparing for going into
maintenace, where you still limit carbs, but only to the level where you
don't gain weight. Many folks eat 60-80 grams on maintenace, though
there are folks who can only eat 30 before gaining weight - people who
have severe insulin resistance. At any rate, just trying to clarify the
fat loss aspect. Joy

Re: CS>Effective Medicine

2003-07-07 Thread Sara Joy
Have you tried Dr. Clark's methods? It works for my otherwise severe
arthritis. Involves a number of cleanses, with herbs, and with
bioelectrical equipment. I also take MSM, several tablespoons a day.

That combination works for me. Joy

Hi, As most of you know I have been fighting an arthritis condition for
a while now. Heeding the advice of a few of you, a few months ago I
started a diet that eliminated carbs and sugar. This helped me to some
extent but I didn't really think that carbs were the root of the
problem. I stayed on that diet for a month and found that my condition
was about the same as it was before..maybe a little less pain, but
not much different. In the back of my mind I still believed that my
problems was caused by a pathogen. I remembered getting advice from
several of you that I should perhaps try Grapefruit seed extract. I
decided to give it a try so I purchased 4 ounces of 33%. Within 2 days
of taking about 20 drops 5 times a day every single joint in my body was
on fire like I have never seen before. This really came as quite a
shock to me since even colloidal silver hadn't produced this kind of
herx reaction even with very high doses. At the time that this occured,
i was also taking CS...I stopped taking the CS so I could make sure
that the GSE was indeed causing the reaction. The reaction persisted
and seemed to get worse when I increased my dosages of GSE.

This was a little over a month ago when I first starting have herx
reactions by GSE use. I have since then run out of my 4 ounce bottle
and replaced it with 32 ounces of 66% citricidal. The new stuff has the
precise same effect on me as the first bottle.

I guess my question is: Shouldn't I be having a decrease in the herx
reactions by now?.does a reaction like this mean I am killing
them?or could it be they are just "aggravated"? I am taking GSE to
bowel tolerance and I really wish I could get more in my system but I'm
not sure how to do it. I have decided to add oregano oil to my arsenal
since the GSE is working so well. I should have it in a few days. One
thing I can say is that the GSE is MUCH more effective on me than CS has
been.Does anyone have any other advice for me?I think I'm
making real progress but any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Can
I expect the same type of reaction from the oregano
oil?..thanks in advance for any help...Robb

Thanks for the warning. You can add salt and that takes care of the problem,

or if you prefer salt free you can use Dr. Clark's syncrometer to test
for any mold or other problems, and if they exist, kill them with her
frequency generator. In one of her new books she also talks about how
to make an inexpensive "zappicator" to use for foods, but I haven't
gotten that book yet - think its the latest one on AIDS. Sara

  Sara,

I'm happy to meet another garlic lover. But I have come across many
warnings on covering garlic with oil. Here's one:

Re: CS>Raw garlic, was Re: CS>Bob Beck Interview

2003-07-01 Thread Sara Joy

Well, I prepare the garlic by breaking 6 or 8 fresh whole garlic
into cloves and peeling them. Then crush in a garlic press and let
stand for several hours until it all turns yellow. This means the
various compounds of sulphur are starting to form.

(Also, I found I need to wear nitride gloves to avoid painful burns
  from the fresh garlic juice.)

Me, too! After I crush the garlic I mix it into an olive oil paste, and
use it like mayonaise to spread on sandwiches. Goes down a little
easier that way. Also use in salads. And, actually, I love the taste
of the stuff. actually just eat it plain. Strange I know, but it does
me so much good, and I've really gotten to love the taste of it. Mixing
it with a little olive oil makes it last longer, too, by the way, and I
make massive bunches at once, like thirty or more of them. Fill up a
jar with the stuff, and it'll last all month. Sara

Interesting. How does the Beck protocal relate to the Dr. Clark
protocal? They sound familiar. I have used the Clark protocal for
parasite cleansing and organ function, and magnetic pulsing is a big
part of that, also ozonated water (or olive oil) plus CS are suggested.

What is blood electrification thought? Sara

[Listowner disclaimer: CS, being one componant of the Beck protocols,
I don't think a general discussion of them is out of order for the
list. For extensive and detailed examination of the other parts --
blood electrification, magnetic pulsing, and ozonated water -- the OT
list and other forums are available. Let's see how it goes...]

Re: CS>**Bob Beck interview/DMSO comment/brain

2003-06-29 Thread Sara Joy
Hi, I'm a newbie on this list. I eat about 8 whole garlic bulbs a week,
and it is very antiinflammatory, its a cleansing/healing/antibacterial
agent. As is also DMSO - though not approved for human consumption, I
used it with my severe arthritis with great results for years prior to
MSM becomming easily available - MSM is based on DMSO, has same effect.
The worst thing about DMSO, like garlic, is the smell, which is
intensified in DMSO. But its not a poison. Garlic is acidic, if you
cut/chop the cloves with bare hands, spend more than about twenty
minutes doing it, the acid can eat right through your skin. That may be
why it was used on bullets. Painful, and would worsen/extend the damage
done by the bullet. But taken orally with food, particularly with
oil-based food or other vitamins, there is no danger whatsoever. Sara

Well, guess what---spelling sometime counts:
"...The reason garlic is so toxic, the sulphone hydroxyl ion
penetrates the blood-brain barrier, just like DMSO,
and is a specific poison for higher-life forms and brain cells."

What does DMSO do to the brain. I have a horse on IV DMSO and have had
to breath it, I cover my nose and mouth with a towel now . Is anything
antidotal? The vet said it is not a carrier per se, said that was
disproven?? Deb
