State power is impunity, impunity corrupts, and absolute impunity

Not if you consume a lot of PUFA, which virtually every American does. If

This is my understanding. Cane sugar is a complex sugar, containing
fructose and glucose. When the body gets the sweet taste, it
immediately starts producing insulin to "store" the excess sugar. The
glucose portion goes directly into the blood, and replaces the drop in
blood sugar that would normally accompany an insulin surge maintaining a
normal blood sugar level. The fructose portion is then stored, either
in muscle, or as fat for later use. Once the glucose is used up,
insulin levels drop and the stored fructose is converted to fructose and
burned. If only moderate amounts of sugar are consumed, then virtually
no sugar is converted to fat.

Now with pure or near pure fructose, the body once again produces
insulin, dropping the blood sugar (glucose) level. But no glucose comes
in, only fructose comes in. The fructose is stored in muscle tissue,
but is stuck there because of the high insulin levels. Blood sugar
drops, making you hungry, so you eat and or drink more to try to get the
glucose level back up. If it is sweet fructose then that only adds to
the problem. Once the level of fructose reaches a saturation level in
the tissues, it starts being stored as fat, which is much more difficult
to access and burn than sugar stored in the muscle.

Thus HFCS converts much more into fat than a mixture of glucose and
fructose, such as honey, or cane sugar.

This protocol was VERY effective for alleviating a consequential number of

Subject: CS>Protocol Comment

About two years ago, primarily stimulated by comments from Dr. Walter
Stoll, we

investigated the possible benefits of utilizing a portable rebounder for
ameliorating the

insulting effects of emphysema. In addition to

measurable effective response for emphysema, we found beneficial effects
for a number of

other afflictions.especially among the geriatric population.

Rebounding proved to be, for us, the safest, least invasive, and most
pleasant

means for accomplishing address to diminishing emphysema's effects.as
well

as a consequential number of less threateningbut discomforting
cardio-vascular and

articulating-joint challenges. Even the lower-cost rebounders gave quite
acceptable

results.even when the volunteer was so compromised they were only able
to sit on the

edge and gently bounce the upper half of the torso.

Nowfor the principal reason for this post. Quite

serendipitously, we discovered a useful alternative for "rebounding"and
one which does

not require any adjunctive equipment. This simple technique has proved so
beneficial...for

methat I no longer use my rebounderas a frequent modality. This
technique involves

nothing more than selecting a convenient doorwaysecuring the hands to
the upper door-

face molding for supportand elevating the body via "tip-toeing"that
is, raising to the balls

of the feet. One can do this as fast...or as slowly...as is convenient for
them to do so. The

faster and more completely one releases...the more the internal physiology
is

stimulated.simply as a result of the inertial forces generated when the
heels strike the

floor.

This simple exercise has benefited me enormously over the past 18 months.

As one becomes more proficient, you may choose to drop and relax each arm
(alternately

every 30 seconds) and will experience a rather pronounced "rebound effect"
in the

chest/breast area. This, particular, exercise has aided me

in sleeping better, toning my cardio-vascular system (especially venous
stasis challenges in

the lower extremities), while saving me considerable time and expense as a
result of my no

longer going to the gymnasium three times weekly for a workout, which is
certainly more

encompassingbut not all that more beneficial (at least in my eyes).

At present, my personal regimen involves 200 fairly rapid elevations (or
more) until the

calves of the legs start to "ache" slightly.

This aching-onset is a reliable indicator of when one should stopunless
they are a younger

athlete and are working on endurance parameters. When I started, I did 25
elevations the

first day and rapidly advanced to about 200 within 5 daysand have
remained there ever

since. I do this exercise twice daily (upon arising in the morning and just
before bed-time).

While I am in "better-than-average" physical condition for my chronological
age, and can---

actually---do 400 continuous elevations, I find my present program yields
quite adequate

results.

My enthusiasm for this simple technique is quite pronounced,

and so is that of my immediate friends who have chosen to adopt it.

It certainly is convenient, effective, TIME-SAVING.and ECONOMICAL.

My apologies for such a lengthy post.

Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.

AC probably works, haven't tried it.
I already have too many cars and have no use for this one.
I've had it for about 2 weeks and personally know every owner since it
left the Georgia ? factory.

I was hoping to get $700 for it and a steal at that, but..I'll break even
at $200 [Chain of gratitude and coincidence at work] and I don't "need" a
profit.
But I DO want to break even. [And people don't appreciate "free" ..it
doesn't actually help them in the long run, anyhow. ]

It's about a 6 hour drive from Atlanta. Sanford NC Cash down, Tag it and

And mebbe we'll head for Talledega one day and have a use for a yard to
park the minivan in over night to catch a nap.

CS>omron neb.pricing

2009-10-18 Thread aKa Jhon
The prices are all over the place ( up to $200, )for this one.Best price I
could find...$55 plus $ if

you add add-ons..

The new handheld Omron is pricey, $169 is the lowest I have
seen
on eBay but the reports on the unit are very good. It is a
new technology.
If I had the extra $ I would buy one. It runs on AA
batteries and is
the most efficient unit of its size and portability.

I was under the impression that smaller particle sizes for nebulizer

That being said, my Omron NE-C25 nebulizer (inexpensive model with
average to large sized droplets, I think) performed exceptionally well
for me last spring.

Ideas?

On another note, has anyone here built their own oxygen nebulizer as
seen on Silvermedicine?

What I did was look at the specs on various nebulizers on line and
noticed
that even between nebulizer units there is a difference in droplet
size, the
smaller handheld units had larger droplet sizes, although this may not
be

true now since Omron has come out with a new technology in their
hand held unit.

The idea of the droplet being too small was mentioned to me by
a seller of the new Omron US unit. You can call him and ask him
since he would know much more than I do. He sells the new unit
on eBay which is where I found his email, he is in Texas.

My only point is that someone may have been trying to sell something on
the basis of an advertisement, not facts. Consider what either of
these
do; the ultrasonic part is to assure the carrier, water, and content
are

not separated by distillation, as in steam, and are effectively
delivered to the alveoli, not trapped in larger passageways as droplets
like the whirly bird (for want of a better description) type

The idea that there could be a size of droplet that would be "too
small"

seems suspect, unless the idea was that the medication would be left
behind by being dropped out or evaporated out of the solution being
"nebulized" - which I think means "fogged". And if that were the case,
it would be useless for most of us warm-bloodeds. Most mammal lung
tissue is kinda similar when you are talking about the alveolar level -
has the same job, mainly getting CO2 out of the blood and O2 in; i.e.
packing an enormous area of very thin tissue in intimate contact with
the blood on one side and the atmosphere on the other into a reasonably
compact and protected flexible space.

Considering the minor cost of a used ultrasonic humidifier and the
minor

effort of cleaning and sanitizing it (what else is CS for, after all?)
why not set aside some presumed (dare I say "nebulous"? )
theoretical

perfection in the interest of getting the job done; the proof's in the
results, not the ad copy.

One additional note; how many "nebulizers" does a veterinarian have to
have to treat the numerous mammalian and avian species that come
through

the clinic door? Give you a clue? Does me. . . .

Room humidifiers do not make the same size droplet as a nebulizer.

You can research the specs on droplet size or speak to someone
who sells various nebulizers and knows the specs.

It's been some time ago that I researched this for myself when I
was looking at purchasing a nebulizer and many on this list
were discussing adapting room humidifiers. If that is all you have
then it is better than nothing but an ultrasonic humidifier is not
equivalent to an ultrasonic nebulizer. That is my only point.

Apparently I have lived a much-too-sheltered life. I was not aware that
there was such prejudice against NAs. I'm sorry.
I look at things a bit backward from the rest of the world anyway. I
remember as a child my mother was explaining to me how the Jews were hated
and what Hitler had done. My question was why did people hate the Jews when
it should be the Germans that were hated? Of course, no one nationality
should be *hated* for anything. That would be like "throwing the baby out
with the bath water." It can be hard, however...especially when it seems a
whole country backs the craziness.

I wonder how many times NAs have saved our white butts...

I knew you all would understand what I was saying because we

I guess the point I was making is...whether it happened hundreds of

the NAs were treated most people would have no idea.

Prejudice is terrible and I have hopes that one day it will be done

I was watching a video once that said that if bitten by a poisonous snake,
they could shock the spot quickly, possibly 5-10 minutes they could change the
poison in the bite to a normal protein the body could deal with and eliminate.
I think they were using a strong shock like from a car battery in the
emergency. It's been a long time since I saw the video so my memory might not

  DEAR akaJohn,
I just read your post and have the following comment: We have tested EIS type
Colloidal Silver in many scenarios involving foodstuffs and have never failed
to subdue the entire lexicon of the insulting pathogens inflicted on the test
media (all of the foodstuffs
involved in all of the investigations). We even applied CS as weak as 10 ppm
as a direct insert
to "highly active" botulinum cultures.and never failed to get total
resolution within minutes.usually within 10 minutes.
However, we have never used CS as a direct adjunct to canning foods
ourselves; although we have received anecdotal reports from reliable
researchers informing that various meat products (containing small amounts of
CS)have been storedin unrefrigerated condition, for upwards of 2
yearswithout untoward incident of any type.
Personally, I would feel perfectly confident in canning butter with about 2
teaspoons
of 10 to 20 ppm Colloidal Silver used as a companionin each 1 pound
container. Colloidal Silver has demonstrated to be simply SPLENDIDAS BOTH
PREVENTIVE AND TREATMENT for botulinum pathogens.
At least, that has been our experience over the immediately past 12 years.
  Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
P.S. CS has been just as effective against, essentially, the entire catalog
of alimentary system pathogenic insultsviral, as well as the more numerous
bacterial threats commonly experienced in the daily life of our citizenry.
Sometimes, when NOTHING else exhibited any
genuine influence against fulminating cases of the more dangerous pathogens.

It appears astonishing to me that this company is making
such claims as to the effectivity of Silver Colloid...against
malaria. If true, it is the first successful protocol involving
CS, of which I am aware.
The type, size and scope of their actual studies, plus the dynamics
of the actual protocol application would be most
enlightening..providing they do in fact exist. This should be
international headline stuff.if genuine.
All of our research on malarial plasmodiums.involving
direct address by CS, IN VIVO, has proven futile.

This is not to say that others have not found success in their
attempts..but the very nature of the malarial agent seems to
present a VERY profound challenge for nominal levels of CS.
References to peer reviews or copies of actual research results
achieved by this company (exclusive of any proprietary product
manufacturing procedures) would be greatly appreciated..from
anyone on this list, cognizant of such. Sincerely, Brooks

Combating Malaria and Tuberculosis
Christopher Smith Schedules Tuesday Hearing on Implementing
Proven Treatment and Eradication Methods
BACKGROUND: The global pandemic of HIV/AIDS is frequently the
focus of high-profile news coverage, but much of the developing
world is being ravaged by two other, relatively unknown, killer
diseases: malaria and tuberculosis (TB). One-third of the world
is infected with the TB bacterium, and it is the leading cause of
death for people with HIV/AIDS. Africa is currently experiencing
a TB explosion due in large part to the AIDS pandemic. Similarly,
Malaria is the primary killer of children and pregnant women in
Africa, and one of the top killers in Asia and South America.
Every day about 3,000 children die from the disease worldwide.
Infection rates for malaria dwarf those of HIV/AIDS, and the vast
majority of malaria patients are pregnant women and children
living in poverty. However, both diseases are preventable and
curable. A six-month course of anti-TB drugs costs only $12 and
can produce cure rates of up to 95 percent even in the poorest
countries. Malaria, likewise, is inexpensive and easy to treat,
and can be controlled with proven successful methods combining
anti-malarial drugs, bed nets, and use of small, environmentally
safe amounts of insecticide in homes and buildings. In FY 2005,
the United States will provide $2.9 billion in bilateral and
multilateral assistance to fight HIV/AIDS, malaria and
tuberculosis. Among the witnesses scheduled to testify Tuesday is
Youssou N?Dour, Senegalese Jazz Musician, Goodwill Ambassador,

I'll take a stab...

For food poisoning from bad food that has been eaten:

1. Actual tests were performed to get this information.

2. Low concentrations of Colloidal Silver (CS) are effective.
(As low as 2 or 3 ppm)

3. If low doses of CS are used, then the volume (ounces) of CS used
must be increased so that you get more total silver content.

4. To be effective, the volume used for 3ppm CS was 10 ounces right away
,

followed 20 minutes later by another 20 ounces.

5. If you used the same amount of 5ppm and 10ppm CS, the results from
using
the 10ppm would be *more* than doubled. If you doubled the volume of
the
5ppm CS so it had the same silver content as the 10ppm CS in the
original

volume, they would work the same.

It is common belief anomg us that if little is good then more is better. THAT
IS ONE BIG LIE

Go to google and search for Hawkeye Jensen, inc, and read their report.
3 PPM is far superior 10 ppm and 20 ppm, as shown in their in vitro testing.

I have mentioned several times about my work with Waldamer Boot in the
Netherlands where he reported a greenhouse customer had a 1,600,000 sq ft
greenhouse of cucumbers that had a mosiac. The government said plow it up, but
Waldamer had the man spray his crop with 20-40 PPB ( that's right paaarts per
billion ont million that we normally use.

In four weeks time the mosiac was gone and the man reported that he had never
had such large cukes. !!!

When you make your next brew, measure and record the current vs. time and as
you take your current read! ing check for a T. E. The monment that you see the
start of a T. E. then stop the process and you will have a product that is 98%+
ionic. You can't do much better than that.

Argyria was such

a common occurrence among the royalty that it earned
them the name "blue-blood".

## I would really like to see this myth either proven or put to rest.

There are many much better reasons that royalty would be called blue
bloods and incidence of argyria in silver mine/foundry etc workers where
they injest dust all day long is about one in 2 thousand according to one
of the researchers in the "Colloidal Silver" collection of Gov't documents
[none of which studied "CS" in any form] who had great difficulty in
creating or finding subjects to study...and that, back in pre OSHA days.

"Blue Blood"
1834, translating Sp. sangre azul, claimed by certain families of
Castile as uncontaminated by Moorish or Jewish admixture, from the notion
of the visible veins of people of fair complexion.
Unlike so many other expressions, this one is well documented. It's a
direct translation of the Spanish sangre azul. Many of the oldest and
proudest families of Castile used to boast that they were pure bred,
having

no link with the Moors who had for so long controlled the country , or
indeed any other group. As a mark of this, they pointed to their veins,
which seemed bluer in colour than those of such foreigners. This was
simply

because the blue-tinted venous blood showed up more prominently in their
lighter skin, but they took it to be a mark of their pure breeding. So the
phrase blue blood came to refer to the blood which flowed in the veins of
the oldest and most aristocratic families. The phrase was taken over into
English in the 1830s.

"Royal Blue" from the rarity of Indigo dyes, thus too expensive for the
commoner to wear.
Popularity and economic value of the plant reached a peak during the
Middle

Ages, when indigo was the most important dye plant for blue color in the
western portion of the world.

It's highly unlikely that silver particles becoming lodged in capillaries
causes argryia.
Silver metal is resistant to most acids and it's unlikely that 'Blue
Bloods' commonly had the technology to make silver ions.
Nitric acid did exist by 800 AD, but just how common was it?

Think about it:
Your blood doesn't leak out of your lungs or stomach, therefore, any
particle has to be smaller than a blood cell to 'get in'.
If it can't get in, it can't become 'lodged' in a capillary, won't if it's
smaller than a blood cell and did get in ...and... can't get out if it
didn't get in.

2004-09-28 Thread aka Jhon

09.28.2004 Terra (Middle Earth Moves), BushCo (Heads Roll at HQ)

Note: Entities are identified by a blue typeface. Aspect words are
enclosed in square brackets []. Attribute words/phrases are within
parentheses (). Interpretive editorial comments are preceded by an
asterisk *.

Dataset distilled from 31.2 million reads. It is anticipated that
processing will bring in another 30 million or so over the course of the
run. The resulting interpretations will be posted as completed. At this
point, we are anticipating only 4 installments to this report. And three
custom report entities from which an executive summary will be provide
to subscribers.

Terra (Middle Earth Moves)

With the earthquakes today in Central(ish) California, a rewrite of this
report proved necessary. The original entities being modeled were
dropped and the Terra entity was run first instead. Perhaps a good thing.

Within the Terra entity, and perhaps pertaining to St. Helens the
volcano in the PNW, we find a lexical structure indicating
[floods/flooding] which is troubling in that it has many associations
with [mud/dissolved earth] as cross linked aspect modifiers. We also
still have lexical sets which represent the concept of [rising/lifting]
and modified with attribute sets containing (earth/ground/field/copse)
as well as further aspect modifiers of [forest/glen] and other words
suggestive of 'woodlands'. These are apparently to be headed 'up' in the
world.

We need to note that this data set is also based on an October/November
time frame which runs to about November 14. Our last solid (bespoke day)
in the Terra entity is November 12th but there are a few distance
aspects indicating a few days beyond. So it is unlikely that anything
transpiring now in either California or at St. Helens is referenced
here. It is true that the data set include the immediate future (as in
September 30th).

As to the Terra entity we also find a lexical arm indicating that [rain]
in (masses/massed/amassed/gathered in quantity) will (hover) over the
[earth] and (join/participate) in the [floods/flooding]. Further we find
that a [group/gathering/collective] of [people] will be (caught/snared)
and have to (seek/obtain) [union] with [those outside/external
resources] in order to be [extracted/rescued]. A curious descriptor set
for the 'floods' is that it is [far/long/distant](removed)? as
though it travels far?

Within the Terra entity, in the lexical subset clearly geographically
referencing California, we find that a rare 'double mirror' formation is
in place. These are lexical structures where the aspects in the top half
of the structure are 'mirrored' within the bottom half by the same
lexical values only in positions as attributes. Further the 'double'
part of this structure is that not only are the top half (*primary*)
aspects 'mirrored' below, but the attributes in the top half lexical
structure for these aspects are themselves mirrored in the aspect
modifier set in the bottom half. Clear as mud?

Well, suffice it to say that a very complex lexical structure has formed
within the California lexical arm of the Terra entity. This structure is
very rare. The *only* other time we have seen this was within the ALTA
data set which led to the 'power outage 2003' prediction. So we have a
tenancy to take these structures as serious guides to the 'potential'
for the data set.

In this case, the 'double mirror' for California can be characterized as
[departure]. We find a whole lexical set around [air/oxygen/respiration]
is (impaired/reduced) and [populace/people/groups] will (depart/leave)
in [crowds/masses] resulting in having [residences] (not fixed/not
permanent/temporary). This 'bad air' comes from the [west] and
(flows/steps/travels) causing (forced)[movement/relocation]. The [air]
will be (driven) by [wind] as though something will produce a 'bad air'
which then will be moved by the wind.

Many of the [people] will (wrongly/inappropriately) (seek refuge/hide)
(under) [bed/home] resulting in some (trauma/hurt/damage). Much
[desperation] will (drive) [magicians/sorcerers] to (try/attempt)
[potions] of (resolution), all to (no avail/failure after effort).

There will be [many/multitudes] of (movements/shifts) after a
[large/big] (difficult)[start/beginning/initial] (striving/surge).
Further a [seeming/felt/experienced] (eternity/excessive/long)
[time/period] will (emerge) [before/in anticipation of] the (cessation)
*of the* [beginning].

And as if all the above is not enough, we have another lexical arm
within the Terra entity which describes
[electrical/electrified/fired/fueled/forced] [water](flowing/rushing).
This 'storm' ED Note: interpreting 'electrified water' as a storm.. will
(turn/alter) a [long road] into a [ladder/segment] which will
(isolate/strand/encapsulate) [residents/populace] of
[considerable/numerous] [areas/islands]. This storm will turn
[bridges/ways/avenues]

You can buy it already bottled and pay dearly or you can buy the sulphate and
mix it into distilled water for a very small fraction of that cost which is
what I do.

You can buy 10 grams and have it delivered for about $80. If anyone wants

It's not colloidal. It's a solution. The indium dissolves completely.

Oregano essential oil is a powerful anti-infectious agent (for respiratory,
intestines, genital, nerves, blood, and lymphatics) with large-spectrum action
against bacteria, mycobacteria, fungus, virus, and parasites. It's a general
tonic and immune simulant.

The owner of Young Living Essential Oils has recently advised the following
four E.O.'s in case of anthrax threat:

  Melissa (Melissa Officinalis) -
  Thyme - (Thymus Vulgaris) -
Thieves - contains: Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, Rosemary
Lemon - (Citrus Limon) - Lemon has antiseptic-like properties and contains
compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function.
According to Jean Valnet, M.D., the vaporized essence of lemon can kill
miningococcus bacteria in 15 minutes, typhoid bactilli in one hor,
staphylococcus aureus in two hours, and peumonoccus bacteria within three
hours. Even a 0.2% solution of lemon oil can kill diphtheria bacteria in 20
minutes. Lemon oil has been widely used in skin care to cleanse skin and
reduce wrinkles.

Thieves is a YLEO exclusive blend. Since you wouldn't necessarily know
when/if anthrax spores were distributed near you, many people are keeping the
above and/or similar essential oils dispersed throughout their homes and/or
work environments on a daily basis (say an hour or so each day). In the event
that you were subjected to anthrax, it's possible the daily inhalation of these
essential oils could help keep you protected.

They further suggest placing a few drops on your air filter mask as
protection from inhalation of spores. Which possibly placing CS directly on an
air filter mask could do the same thing?

CS>milk,,

2001-05-28 Thread aka jhon
Interesting article, check the date out and then look for newer
updates.Mad cow,FMD,Johnes diseases, what's next
Subject: Crohns disease and milk - Research
From: meph
Date: Sat, 03 Aug 1996 14:38:17 +0100
Here's a snippet from an article I found this week, may be of
interest to some...

Take from a supplement of a national newspaper dated 28 July 96 :-

That Gut Feeling :

Scientists at St Georges hospital in London are claiming there is a
link between Crohns disease - a debilitating digestive problem that
affects more than 40,000 people in the UK - and drinking milk.
Professor John Hermon-Taylor, a surgeon, and his team have reported
finding minute traces of an organism known as myco-bacterium
paratubercolosis in two thirds of the intestinal tissue removed from
Crohns patients after surgery and although the National Dairy Council
has disputed such claims on the basis of its own studies, the
hospital researchers say they have also found the organism in
supplies of whole, pasteurised milk.

Hermon-Taylor and his colleagues are suggesting mycobacterium, which
causes Johnes disease in sheep and cattle (a condition similar to
Crohns disease in humans), is being transferred through food and
water systems and can sometimes survive the process of
pasteurisation. The full results of the study will be published in
September and these may be convincing enough for sufferers to be
told, for the first time since the condition was originally diagnosed
in 1932, that scientists have discovered a concrete cause.

Although public awareness of the condition is still limited, 3000 new
cases are diagnosed every year. Crohns affects both men and women
equally. The incidence has doubled in the past 20 years.

Crohns disease can affect any part of the digestive tract but is more
commonly found in the small intestine where it causes inflammation,
deep ulcers and scarring to the intestinal wall. The main symptoms -
tiredness, urgent diarrhea and loss of weight - can be controlled by
drugs but surgery is frequently necessary to remove the damaged or
narrowed sections of the intestine. There is no known cause, and no
known cure, for Crohns, although there is evidence of a genetic
predisposition.

Sisters Sue Middleburgh 44, and Ruth Ardley, 40, have both suffered
from Crohns disease since their teens. Middleburgh, a financial
adviser who was first diagnosed at 16, remembers passing out from the
crippling stomach pain but being told her symptoms were
psychological "After one operation at the age of 24, I turned to
acupuncture and for the past 12 years I have coped with the disease
without further surgery, although there are times when it does get me
down", she says.

Ardley a part time book-keeper and mother of two, says Crohns affects
not only her life but her whole family. "Fortunately, I have an
understanding husband but it is a difficult disease to live with.
When you need the toilet you have to go straight away and people
don't understand the urgency". The national association for Crohns
and colitis (NACC) issues its 24500 members with a can't wait card,
designed to facilitate quicker access to public lavatories in shops
and also runs support groups across the country for sufferers.
Richard Driscoll the NACC director is cautious about the new research
linking Crohns with milk and says one problem is that no other
research group has as yet been able to repeat the results reported by
the group at St Georges hospital.

"Aside from the genetic aspect we believe there may be environmental
factors that give rise to the disease. There must be something about
our modern way of living that is causing an increase in sufferers" he
says. "It may be there is more than one external agent that triggers
the disease, but the sad fact for sufferers is that, once they have
it, it is a lifelong condition for which there is no cure"

Researchers at the Royal Free hospital in London have suggested the
measles virus may be linked to the disease. The hypothesis is that
measles may cause lasting damage to the blood vessels lining the
bowel wall, triggering the onset of Crohns in some people. However
like the milk hypothesis, this research is in its infancy and,
despite a suggestion that a measles vaccine given to children could
lead to Crohns in later life, the consensus of medical opinion is
that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the unproven risks of a
link with Crohns.

Driscoll emphasises that there is no link between Crohns and
irritable bowel syndrome - one does not lead to the other and there
is in fact, no tissue inflammation with the latter and no obvious
sign of damage to the intestine.

Another problem facing Crohns sufferers is that it can take up to a
year to rule out similar conditions and many are sent packing by
their GP's who mistakenly believe the symptoms to be psychosomatic.

"The best way to describe the condition to non-sufferers is to tell
them to think of the

DOCTORS' STRIKE IN ISRAEL MAY
BE GOOD FOR HEALTH
Judy Siegel-Itzkovich, Israel Sun, Jerusalem

"Industrial action by doctors in Israel seems
to be good for their patients' health. Death
rates have dropped considerably in most
of the country since physicians in public
hospitals implemented a program of sanctions
three months ago, according to a survey of
burial societies. . . .

"In the absence of official figures, the
Jerusalem Post surveyed non-profit
making Jewish burial societies, which
perform funerals for the vast majority of
Israelis, to find out whether the industrial
action was affecting deaths in the country.

"'The number of funerals we have performed
has fallen drastically,' said Hananya Shahor,
the veteran director of Jerusalem's Kehilat
Yerushalayim burial society. 'This month,
there were only 93 funerals compared with
153 in May 1999, 133 in the same month
 in 1998, and 139 in May 1997. .
. ."

(Editor's note: This doctors' strike in
Israel is only the latest in a long string
of doctor strikes in various countries of
the world, including the United States. In
every instance of a doctors' strike, death
rates have fallen dramatically during the
strike, sometimes by as much as 50%,
only to rise after the strike ended.)

CS>Fw: [RMNEWS] Rare virus linked to deaths in California

2000-08-04 Thread aKa Jhon

|
| Rare virus linked to deaths in California
|
| http://news.excite.com/news/r/000803/20/health-virus
|
| Updated 8:31 PM ET August 3, 2000
| By Sarah Tippit
| LOS ANGELES, (Reuters) - California health officials said Thursday they
have
| linked three recent unexplained deaths to a rare virus, normally carried
by
| rodents, that has almost never before infected humans in North America.
|
| The so-called "arenavirus" causes a rare, but often fatal respiratory
| disease, and is transmitted to humans through inhalation of dust
contaminated
| with the urine, feces or saliva of infected rodents.
|
| Variations of the virus are often seen in human populations in Africa and
| South America, scientists said. Arenavirus has also been documented
recently
| in rodents in Southern California.
|
| However never had it been seen in humans anywhere in the United States,
| "except among overseas travelers and laboratory workers exposed
accidentally
| while doing research," California Health Director Diana Bonita said in a
| statement.
|
| The virus was detected through genetic testing in three Southern
California
| women who died in the last 14 months. Among the victims were a 30-year-old
| who died last month in Orange County, a 14-year-old who died in April in
| Alameda County, and a 52-year-old who died in June 1999 in Riverside
County.
|
| Each had been hospitalized with fever and respiratory distress. Two of the
| women also had severe liver disease and bleeding. Initially their cause of
| death was unexplained.
|
| There is no evidence the cases are related, and human infection with
| arenavirus is expected to be uncommon in the United States, health
officials
| said. The 52-year-old woman had had a history of contact with rodents,
| officials said.
|
| The drug ribavirin has been used to treat other arenavirus infections,
health
| officials said. Research is ongoing to find other effective treatments,
they
| said.
|
| In order to avoid the virus, people are encouraged not to touch or feed
wild
| rodents or any wild animals, to properly dispose of and contain trash, to
| avoid camping near rodent droppings, burrows or nests, and to avoid
creating
| dust when cleaning rodent-infested areas by first wetting the areas with
| bleach.
|
| Last month world health officials meeting in Atlanta at the U.S. Centers
for
| Disease Control warned of the threat of emerging diseases -- potentially
| lethal outbreaks triggered by travelers, animals, bioterrorists, or
| unexpected changes in the diseases themselves.
|
| Among other emerging diseases being tracked are Lyme disease, hantavirus,
and
| West Nile virus, which killed seven people and sickened 62 others in New
York
| late last summer.
|
| The West Nile virus, which causes brain inflammation, has been found in
birds
| and mosquitoes in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. Researchers are
| unsure how it migrated to the Western Hemisphere.

I must be really dense,,I have read the info from Silvergen, and this

| Hello Robert,
|
| I agree very closely with your information. We market the Hanna PWT and
| tell our customers the meter reads correctly on samples we have had
analyzed
| by the atomic absorption method but if they want to follow the information
| given by Hanna, to multiply the reading by .55 to get their reading. In
any
| case, it's right on or 45% high. I really don't see this as a critical
| problem since we're speaking only of a few parts per million. This is
| briefly covered on our PPM page at our web site. We do not mention the
55%
| effect since we are content to accept the AA test as being accurate.
| However we do point this anomaly out on the instruction sheet we provide
| with the PWT.
|
| What is important is the fact a person can tell from batch to batch what
| they have made. The PWT is the best low cost solution to making reliable
CS
| from one batch to the next and confirming the results. The TDS-1 is
| unacceptable for measuring PPM.

It is error alone which needs the support of government.
Truth can stand by itself.

DEFENSE DEPARTMENT FACES HUGE PROBLEM OVER ANTHRAX VACCINATIONS
~
Edited by Bill Rogers

The controversy over the safety of anthrax vaccinations ordered by the
Defense Department for all service members is heating up as more and more
people either refuse to take their shots or quit the service. Anthrax is
considered a major biological warfare threat. So far about 330,000 of the
2,500,000 people in uniform have received at least the first of six shots.
But anthrax shots are becoming a serious morale and readiness problem, to
say nothing of a health problem.

CBS News interviewed more than 100 Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard
pilots and reported on July 26 so many pilots are quitting over this issue
that there are "huge holes in some military air units." Key units stand to
lose up to half their pilots, and at just five bases more than 100 reserve
pilots quit this year, CBS said.

"The squadron is unable to do its peacetime and wartime mission, and this
directly impacts the nation's readiness," Maj. Ramona Savoie declared. She
is one who quit. The recent campaign in the Balkans demonstrates the need
for Reserve and Guard forces whenever the Air Force makes any substantial
effort, so the loss of many experienced pilots will have a serious impact on
readiness of U.S. forces.

The Defense Department insists that the vaccine is safe and effective and
that the program is going smoothly, but memos obtained by CBS tell a
different story. One squadron commander wrote, "Due to the controversy
regarding the shots, compliance has been very low." Another commander
acknowledged that "We are losing a lot of experience."

Many Guard and Reserve pilots also fly for the airlines, and some have quit
for fear that side effects of the shots would put their civilian flying
career at risk -- or their passengers. "Would you want your pilot to have
any problem with remembering, and tremors, seizures? This is all stuff
that's attributed to the vaccine," Mike Angerole said. He flies for
Southwest Airlines and is among those quitting the Air Guard.

Two bills have just been introduced in Congress that would address concerns
about the anthrax vaccinations. On July 19, Rep. Benjamin Gilman, New York
Republican, introduced H.R. 2548, which would suspend the vaccination
program until the vaccine is determined to be safe and effective and to
provide for a study by the National Institutes of Health. The other, H.R.
2543, introduced by Rep. Walter Jones, a North Carolina Republican, would
make the shots voluntary.

Gilman's bill directs the National Institutes of Health to see that an
independent study is done to determine the types and severity of adverse
reactions and long-term health implications. The study would also determine
the effectiveness of the vaccine in protecting humans against all strains of
anthrax pathogens that U.S. military personnel are likely to encounter.

The Defense Department opposes requests to make the shots voluntary, is not
granting exceptions to the requirement to take shots, and, as it finds
itself getting deeper into this controversy, seems to be hardening its
position. Defense Secretary William Cohen recently wrote in a letter to Army
Times, "Just as soldiers must wear helmets, commanders must know all their
troops are vaccinated against anthrax."

And the Pentagon says the shots will continue no matter how many pilots
quit. It launched a campaign to convince the troops that the vaccine is
safe, but Mark Zaid, a Washington attorney who has represented at least two
dozen service members who have refused the shots, said the education effort
was handled poorly and backfired on DOD. He believes DOD is so embarrassed
about the matter that it won't back away and thereby admit to mistakes.
"They'll go kicking and screaming until the last possible second" when they
are forced to change the vaccination policy, he said.

Zaid, who had been working on Gulf War Syndrome issues, started getting
calls right after the shots started in March 1998. He said at first people
were usually just given a general discharge, then occasionally an
other-than-honorable discharge, and now more frequently a court martial. The
Marine Corps has been giving courts martial more than the other services. In
the active duty forces, it is mostly lower ranking enlisted people who
refuse, while in the reserve forces, captains, majors and colonels are
refusing and quitting. He noted that emergency-essential civilians in DOD
must also take the shots, and half a dozen senior civilians in the Military
Sealift Command have been fired.

What should service members do? "Tough decision. I don't know," Zaid
answered. "I have never given anybody advice about what they should do. I
always tell them they need to talk it over with family and friends. If you
decide to refuse it, come back to me and I will do what I can to help.

"The only thing I have given as far as advice was

I am replying to the so-called salt test that was put out.
in 1998 I had this colloidal silver analysed by the Queensland
overnment( Australia) scientific services, the report was as follows:
silver(mg/L) 18.9/ pH 7.9 .about average; a copy of this document is
available to all.

This Company advertised the 'so called' Salt Test. this smacks of
scaremonger tactics for the following reason: They advise you add one
teaspoon of ordinary table salt to 25 mL of colloidal silver. if the
solution turns milky they say that silver salt or protein has been added and
the silver is no good. You will find that most salt has the additive
anti-caking agent 554. The Australian Commonwealth Department of Health
advise in their book ' Additive Code Breaker' 554 is Aluminium sodium
silicate also known as analcite natrolite, it is used in Beverage whitener,
drink machines, dried milk, and table salt and will turn any clear liquid a
whitish colour. This company also state that there silver is in De- ionised
water. Silver will not stay in suspension in Deionised water, it will settle
to the bottom of the bottle
