Thank you to Fred Hover, Phil Hill and all the CVRC folks for putting on a relaxed fun two-day RES contest. Since Fred indicated that this may be the last time he will be CDing this contest, I am compiling a CD with pictures of the event for him as a token of our appreciation for all his work over the years. So, if you took any pictures while you were there last weekend and you would like to have them included on the CD, please send them to me. Absolutely, once you guys come and try out a seeded MoM contest with the OVSS guys you'll be wondering when the next contest is that you can go to. And since it is seeded MoM after the first flight group you will basically be flying with guys that are your skill level. It really makes it fun for everyone involved. And with JR sponsoring this series there are all kinds of cool prizes as well! Yea for JR and Horizon! A major reason why I switched to JR besides 3 year warrantee, great costumer service and products that do what you expect. I am fortunate to be a part of OVSS. Have been there since the very first one, and expect to do it again this year. Thank the good Lord for keeping me around. To not comment publicly about such an offense would only spread the impression to others that it's accepted behavior. Matters like this definitely need to be brought out in the open for public discussion. On the other hand, private emails tend to brand you as the self-appointed list police, and as Pat McCleave wrote, people might start calling you Gordy. I had to killfile Gordy for his hostile private emails, and I certainly wouldn't want others to killfile me for the same reason. [RCSE] Thanks for another Wounderful Spring
Hi all, Just feeling it and had to share Another spring has arrived here in the Mid West, it has been a little rocky coming, but I believe we have seen the last freeze until next October. Time to enjoy those summer time activities with gusto and time to be ready for the fourth Wood Crafters Soar In Reunion. About sixty guys, some with their sons ( 5 ) will converge on the AMA fling site in Muncie, IN this May 26, 27, 28, 29 to fly their woody sailplanes. There will be approx. 20 woody scale sailplanes and two aero tow jocks. It is worth the trip just to see the beautifully crafted scale sailplanes in action all four days. This year I added two more classes of woody scale; Ray's Fun Scale, a laid back approach to having fun with scale woody sailplanes and Man on Man 60 or less Mini Fun Scale that will be launched from Sky Bench Mini Hi Starts. The first two days are fun fly for woody sailplanes with optional competition and Sat and Sunday we have our very successful WC 05 Championship. The most laid back, fun contest and great group of guys on the planet. Scale guys just keep on flying through all of this activity giving everyone more opportunity to fly all their woodys than you can imagine possible. We are hell bent on keeping activity alive and well for those of us that enjoy building and flying our own. Wood Crafters is all about fun for the guys with the talent and inclination to create their own and to have a great time with others of the same interest. Most of the entrants also fly composit/molded sailplanes, but still enjoy the balsa and glue. Our rules are simple and user friendly and our events are laid back and fun. Another great event happening this spring, May 21 - 22, is the opening contest at Cinnci. of the great OVSS Series of contests in the Mid West. See you there.. :) Ray Hayes http://www.skybench.com Home of Wood Crafters RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
