Mine is here:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\ey8r9gln.default\signons.sqlite

Mine does not. Even Search didn't find it on C:\
? ? ?

Your profile is in the appdata folder in your Windows user profile, and
that's normally hidden. If I remember correctly, Windows search will
ignore hidden files and folders, although I have my main computer set to
*not* hide appdata.

Ultimately, that's all data that's in a place where Microsoft expects
*only* access through applications, and not directly from the user
(e.g., Windows Explorer or CMD prompt).

However, Mozilla profiles don't entirely fit those assumptions.

For this, it's helpful to ambiguate your access, using the environment
variables that Mozilla uses, rather than trying to translate your
specific settings from somebody else's.

Using the example noted above, the location that you're looking for is:

  %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Seamonkey\Profiles\.default\signons.sqlite.

(and this syntax works for Windows XP, where Microsoft used a different
path structure for user data). The only thing you have to substitute is
with the 8-character alphanumeric string that prefaces the name
of your profile (usually "default"). To find the proper name of the
profile (if you don't already know it), then you can enter the path
above, up to "Profiles", then use the Explorer dig deeper into the profile.

For good measure, using this approach gets you past any limitations that
are imposed by hidden folders. If you know the exact location (including
use of environment variables), you can always get there.

In this context, something you might want to consider doing is to put a
shortcut for your profile on your desktop or in your Documents folder.
That will make it easier for you to get to your raw profile data,
including making backups.

Historically, I've always been enthusiastic about using MozBackup, but
since it's no longer in development, I no longer encourage use. Thus,
the only way to back up a profile is by copying it -- either by backup
of all your Windows user data (including the contents of %APPDATA%) or
just your Seamonkey profile. For the latter, if you have a shortcut, all
you have to do is to copy the contents to another location.

The only apps I will put on the boot partition are utilities that I
consider extensions of the OS. Apps go on a apps partition and data
goes on a data partition. I suggest you change that C:\ to something
else; eg E:\SMData\MailAcct1,,, and E:\SMData\Profiles\profile1,,,. If
you don't have or know how to get another partition we can deal with
that as a different subject.

Because that would put *your* stuff under the *application's* stuff. A
bad idea. Something what old legacy application use to do in the old
days. The problems with that design is that:

1) When you uninstall the program so goes your data! Programs are
replaceable, you can always uninstall and reinstall them to fix
something. Your data is NOT replaceable. Once delete it is gone unless
you have taken the extra step of backing it up, which leads to #2.

2) Putting all user data UNDER user profile greatly simplifies back up.
In the past when applications scattered user data all over the place
ordinary people would lose their stuff whenever their system ran into
problems.

3) C:\Program Files\ C:\Program Files (x86)\ are not normally writable
by user. This is a security feature that finally MS adopted.

If you wanted to put your data in a path easier for you to find I would
suggest something like:

C:\Users\Bill\MyMail or C:\Users\Bill\Seamonkey\

Keep it under your profile.

My understanding is it has been abandoned and no longer is in development.

You really should be backing up the entire drive on a regular basis as
someone else has suggested. I use TODO Backup. There is a free version.

My C:\ and G:\ drives automatically backup nightly when I'm not using
the PC. The other PCs backup weekly on a staggered schedule. The entire
drive or individual file(s) can be restored very easily using Windows
Explorer.

My backup are stored on a 1Tb USB drive. One in the bank box and I swap
them out periodically.

A lot of things can happen to the profile data files. I recently had a
situation where the data files were being deleted.

The mail files are placed in the profile tree by default, but are not
part of the profile. Prefs, which is part of the profile, points to
them and you can place them anywhere. If you get the mail out of the
profile tree what is left of the profile is easy to manage.

I have a bat file on the desktop that uses XCOPY to update the entire
profile to whatever location(s) I chose. After I close SM, one click
and the profiles are saved.

If so, do I Export each of the four Address Books ?

How about backing up the Passwords ?

DoctorBill  using SM 2.46

Address books - copy the *.mab files in your profile

Passwords - copy the signons.sqlite file in your profile

I found the ,mab file.
Cannot find any signons.sqlite file - even tried searching the C:\ drive.
No luck !

Ed's data is out of date.
To back up passwords, you need to copy key3.db and logins.json.
For more information, see http://seamonkey.ilias.ca/profilefaq/#transferring

Why are you not backing up your entire system? I do that weekly. See
my .

If I want only my passwords, I use the Password Exporter extension from
. I
had to run the .xpi file through the converter at
in order to install it in
SeaMonkey.

For my Address Book, I use the built-in [Tools > Export] menu items in
the Address Book window. That is for Thunderbird, but I suspect it
works the same for SeaMonkey. If you have multiple address books (I
have 6), however, you get a separate file for each.

Holy megabytes, Batman !

I just wanted to save my passwords and bookmarks 1
That Password thing you told me about sounds like something Abby Sciuto
might try explaining to Jethro Gibbs on NCIS !
My reaction is about the same as Gibbs'.

MAYBE Mozilla could come up with a Password Backup function in "Tools"
in the
'Manage Passwords' menu choice (?) !Maybe it could print out the
list of
Sites and Usernames and Passwords all lined up like a chart - it would
be nice !

People WOULD like to backup every one of the compiled doodads in SeaMonkey.

BTW - what is the "Data Manager" for ?
SeaMonkey is GREAT - but has a lot of unexplained "Computer Geek" stuff
which
is not "user friendly" - an old term that still applies to good software.
Some of us just don't live in that world every day of our lives..

That web site you gave:

is a good example of Geek Jargon !
I have NO IDEA what "...and disabled login hosts using XML or CSV files..."
means.
The "Review" by THX is ..whatjibberish to us unwashed nerds.

Yes, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and other
"founding fathers" owned slaves. However, they created
a nation. Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, Thomas
"Stonewall" Jackson and other "heroes" of the
Confederacy tried to tear the nation apart. Statues
and other monuments to those "heroes" of the
Confederacy actually celebrate traitors and treason.
