I have never experienced this. Could it be because you are using

We should somehow setup a standard for beta release... I mean, 9Val or

Well, I don't think it's TB! itself - at least, these points are

mounted network drives. My guess is - Windows is doing some tricky

Hello Vili,

> issue, I think.

The log file was created with RegMon from
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html which monitors the
registry of Windows. The log was NOT created by Windows. Sysinternals
has provided HIGHLY respected utilities to the market for years.

Per the web site on RegMon:

,- [ Quote per http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html ]
| Regmon is a Registry monitoring utility that will show you which
| applications are accessing your Registry, which keys they are
| accessing, and the Registry data that they are reading and writing -
| all in real-time. This advanced utility takes you one step beyond what
| static Registry tools can do, to let you see and understand exactly
| how programs use the Registry. With static tools you might be able to
| see what Registry values and keys changed. With Regmon you'll see how
| the values and keys changed..
`-

In addition you have the ability to filter what you monitor. When I
created the Log file I was filtering on 'thebat.exe'. Since I realized
that TB Beta was changing the registry, I wanted to monitor what was
being changed, hence the filter on 'thebat.exe'. After looking into
the log I decided to look at the specifics of 'Request' changes in the
Registry. The criteria I used was "CreateKey" Or "DeleteValueKey" Or
"SetValue".

Since I didn't provide the headers originally, I have done so below on
the first line in the quote box.

Hello Ron!

Thanks for reporting. May help the next person who has a similar

As Richard Wakeford mentioned in his message
mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

the cost of an upgrade is relatively small. I think RitLabs has been
offering a reduced price for an upgrade. Yes. Here's the page URL:

https://www.cifnet.com/cgi-bin/ritlabs/thebat.html?referer=RITLABS.Li5OMC4uLmVu&c

Depending on the version, there's a discount of between 10 and 14 U.S.
dollars. Copy-and-paste of that part of the page:

===
Upgrade from prevoius versions, 30% discount

The Bat! Upgrade (Student) $17.50
The Bat! Upgrade (Home) $24.50
The Bat! Upgrade (Pro) $31.50
===

It's been well worth it to me--setting up filters is simpler and there
are quite a few other features that make life easier. Customizing is
possible--though there's a slight learning curve to customizing the
toolbars and especially to customizing the keyboard shortcuts.

But there are now many TB! users who have mastered the steps to those
two new things, and you would find help on TBUDL with them.

I encourage you to consider upgrading.

As was told to you. You need to install the full version 3 before
installing the beta on top. There were a lot of changes between version
2 and 3, new sorting office and all sorts of things. Also, once you've
made the move, I don't think you can go back to version 2 but it's worth

Indeed. Currently only single-part messages can be seen this
way (having shown the kludges); for the rest of them you'll need
to export the message first...

That's a bug in M$ Outlook (IMHO). I believe you're speaking
'bout that "utf7" encoding? It's not unicode, it's some gibberish,
nothing more. I dunno how to make Outlook work all right, I
don't use it.

Hi Oleg,
On Tuesday 30/11/1999 at 20:25, you wrote:

> -- "View Source" for the currently viewed message would be very handy

Agreed, I often used that feature in Outlook. It's most handy for one
of the mailing lists I'm subscribed to. The mailing bot strips off
all the headers including MIME, which means when anyone accidentally
sends in HTML or sends an attachment, it gets mangled when it reaches
the distribution list.
Occasionly I tend to double-check that if a file is attached to my
message for whatever reason, that it's in a format which won't get
mangled. It's just sometimes nice to see _exactly_ what is going out,
right down to the original text view of an attachment.
You know, it looks like this:

GJIS5717GJJ"£**GN!*(*(FN£**(£B*"(*!RBVMSVMEFS*EN(£"&*F(£NF"£(*FN"
etc.

Yes, that's something I would really like to see :)

Slightly related:
I'm not so keen on being able to write HTML messages though. Viewing
them is fine, but I believe the standard should always be text format,
at least until we all have T1 connections! In other words, this is
one advancement in the next version that I would still be happy
without :)

what is nt 5.1 build 2600? I've noticed some strange behavior similar
to what you describe since installing XP. Actually what I get, but
don't notice is a very small amount of the "active title bar" sitting
right above the "start" button. Hitting the restore up button gets me
back where I want to be. I have been having similar misbehaviors with
other programs, where I will do something and it behaves as if I had
hit the minimize button. I was attributing it to XP not TB!

added: just now, when I hit the "put letter in the outbox" button,
TB! was reduced to a flying bat in the system tray.

That's the correct behaviour under Win XP. Clicking on the taskbar
entry of a program minimize it, when it is shown and opens the Window
when it is minimized.

When you activate Minimize to system tray, then clicking on the TB!
icon opens the window and clicking on the taskbar makes the taskbar
entry disappear :-)

And they fixed my nickname/address book problem. A feature that I may
be the only one here using. But I had missed it fiercely.

X-Rogue and the other customized macros are still broken, however.

And in general the header functions are a mess. :(

I reported in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] that I've seen

Try this. Create a shortcut on your desktop to a web page. Make sure
Firefox is *not* open, as this is a necessary condition. Click the
shortcut to open the web page to which it points. The error is
generated. (See attached.) I can reproduce this every time and The Bat!

It seems like you are using some kind of DynamicDNS Service - such a
page is usually needed to find your external IP Adress.

http://www.dslreports.com/whois
Answer: The IP that just fetched this page is 84.56.160.xyz

If you cannot find any problems, try to enter into your Adress-Bar:

And search for keyword "url" try to find "dslreports" in the
