Need to cut the recipient's name
Hi Bats! I've setted the entries in my Address Book adding the category in the last name, after a " - " mark. E.g. first="Jacopo", last="Ognibene - Work" Now, I use a template for automatic addressing to the recipient by: - the first name (for friends) e.g. "Hi John!" - the last name (for others) e.g. "Dear Mr. Smith," How can I cut any text after the " - " mark in the last name? Mail in v2.04.7
Hello Bat list, Now I've moved to version 2, I'm having trouble with the templates for sending mail. I seem to recall seeing that some changes were needed for the new version; but my attempts to make sense of the new templates on the site has proved a dismal failure, and I have got things in a mess. The reply template I was using for this folder read: %SetHeader("X-Archive","encrypt") On%SETPATTREGEXP="(?m-s)Date\:\s*?((.*?[\d]{4})\s*?%- ([\d]%-{0,2}\:[\d]{0,2})\s*?(.*))"%- %REGEXPMATCH="%HEADERS" GMT%- (%ODateShort, %OTime + GMT), %OFROMNAME wrote: %QINCLUDE="wq" %Cursor but for other mail I've been using more simple ones, such as: = Hello Mark, %ODateEn, %OTimeLongEn, you wrote: %QINCLUDE="wq" %Cursor -- Best regards, Eric mailto:%FromAddr Advice on what I should now be doing would really be appreciated - as long as it's simple enough for me to understand! Yikes!
Well I finally installed that V2 version recently and overall it seems a little faster and still stable, so that's good. Two areas so far have baffled me and I wonder if you good folks could help 1) I recently did a simple search for someone's email address in my 10+ accounts. I was ASTONISHED to find out that Ritlabs has apparently removed the option for searching not only anywhere in the message but ACROSS ALL ACCOUNTS IN TB. This has always been one my favorite features as it is so incredibly useful. Why on earth would they remove this (what the @#%% were they thinking...) and I know I can Control-A in that pane but it's a pain so is there a way to reactivate this somehow? 2) I have tried to configure Bayesit 0.4 g SE with the "average" and scores of 80 and 60 (pretty much default) and direct the spam into the common junk folder but after manually marking as junk about 500+ messages, including many that were almost identical, Bayesit has still not directed a single spam email there on its own. What am I missing or doing wrong? bug: Opening a file with TB!
Hello bats, I just tried opening a .TBB file with thebat (from Window's Open With menu), hoping that it would display a list of mails in there (especially the ones, that are marked deleted). As expected it does not, but did hang very strangely, consuming all CPU cycles it got. The same with .TBI files. When opening a .RAR file with TB it invokes the default handler for that. Looks like either TB loops with .TBB files because it itself it now the default handler for that?! Or it hangs because it itself locks the file. IMO should simply say "Unknown filetype" when it's opened with a file and does not know how to handle it. Another option would be to create a new mail and attach the file.. Nevertheless it should definitely not hang.. what do you think? -- shinE! GnuPG/PGP key: http://thequod.de/danielhahler.asc lifted with The Bat! 2.05 Beta/12 on Windows XP Service Pack 1. That said, I do seem to have stumbled upon the ultimate culprit (and I do mean *stumbled*!), and if I'm remembering correctly, it may have been one of the "not entirely necessary" processes that either my nVidia graphics card or SB live 5.1 sound card installed, which insisted on starting with Windows. I used a program called "Windows Startup Inspector" to find the process dependencies and disable the potentially offending process(es). In any event, "rundll32.exe" is no longer constantly activated, and I'm no longer having problems with "sluggish mouse syndrome" whenever TB! checks for new mail. :-) Thanks everyone! - -- Melissa PGP public keys: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]&Body=Please%20send%20keys TB! v2.04.7 on Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iD8DBQFAZiR7jVbXUvsE8ukRAodkAJ4mYv2Uv/wSD/i5pGyw+WipQ+AJogCZAQek No6XXsCffhiFgNJNf64zJaA= =QF+7 -END PGP SIGNATURE- Current version is 2.04.7 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

No. It's regardless of size, but does only hang if there is no default handler for that file type in Windows defined. Then thebat pops up for a very short time and the default app gets the file. Just tested it for a php file again. DH>> what do you think? > Not a bug. :-) Not on your side, and probably all the others. But here it is.. :) -- shinE! Hello bats, on Sun, 28. Mar 2004 at 00:36:17 +0100 Roelof Otten wrote: > Tried it over here, with TB 2.04.07, not with the beta you're using, > under Win98. TB created a new message with the .TBB file attached. I also tried it with 2.04.07 before, the same result. I now tried calling thebat.exe from cmd.exe with a file as parameter. This time nothing happened at all. I closed thebat, started it from commandline with a filename as parameter and it created a msg with attachment. Woohoo.. it now even works with a running TB instance from commandline. But "Open With" still does not. What do you (and Martin) have in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\thebat.exe\shell\open\command ? With me its "D:\Programme\thebat\thebat.exe" /nologo /o:"%1" and I wonder what that /o switch is.. Might this be the culprit or is it the same for you? > BTW You can see your deleted messages by selecting a folder and in the > menu: > Folder -> Browse deleted messages > Wile doing that, you can undelete those messages eith the 'Delete' > button Great!
