Urgent ! Are there any window-Eyes users out there ?
Hi all, I'm very sorry for the cross post but it is very very very important for me ... I'm about to switch of screen reader. I will let Jaws for Window-Eyes. And as I plan, of course, to keep on using The Bat! I would like to know if there were on one of the TB lists, a or several users of this screen reader and how they did to customize tb with it ... are there any set files (the equivalent of Jaws scripts) to use tb more efficiantly ? Preferences problem in TB Voyager 3.86.03
Hi Tbudler, In the preferences/other options dialog box, all subtree options seems to be shifted with their contents. For example : - on the "Character Sets (XLAT)" tab, we can read, "This subtree contains a lot of rarely changed options like confirmation customisation, Messages submission forms, smartpad preferences and so on". on the confirmations tab we find the character set list relative to above tab. - on the submission forms we find the list of elements pertaining to the confirmations tab... - and the smarttab contains the system-wide hotkey list, so its options are missing... Can someone confirm this ? -- Greetings, Claude Renaud Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Question about the Mail Dispatcher
Hi tbudler, I'm curently using a popmail e-mail checker, PopTray, to take a look to my e-mail before retrieving them. The advantage of this solutions is that it is relatively accessible with my screen reader, yes I'm blind... But the problem is that I'm obliged to use this program in conjunction with TB which is according to me not really necessary as TB has its own e-mail checker : the E-mail dispatcher. The problem with the e-mail dispatcher is that it is based on a gridview which does not seem to be customizable. In Poptray for example I can check or unchec kcolumns I don't want to see. I don't think it can be done on the e-mail dispatcher. And the problem is that in poptray I can read columns completely whereas in the e-mail dispatcher for exampleI only see few words of e-mail subjects... So in few words, I would like to be able to use the e-mail dispatcher but could it be possible to customize it according to my needs : adding or removing columns I don't want to see, increasing/decreasing columns width ... Or is it in the todo list for an upcoming version ? -- Greetings, Claude Renaud Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Associating shortcuts to view modes
Hi all, Few TB versions ago it was possible as far as I remember to associate shortcuts to view modes, and if my memory serves me well, there were associated with shortcuts such as alt+shift+1, alt+shift+2 etc. Currently it is not possible to quickly switch from view mode to view mode with a single keystroke. Is it possible to regain this function or should it be added as a future feature for TB ? -- Greetings, Claude Renaud Current version is 3.85.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Scheduling mail check
Hi all, As you know it is currently no possible to check mail or schedule such a task on a per account basis and suspend it has needed ... So I imagined a scenario ... in order to create such a function ... I created a batch which launches the bat checks a specified account and exit. And then I created a task to run this batch according to a schedule I defined. But I have a little problem. As I use On-The-Fly Encryption each time TB is launched it asked me for the password. So I would like to know if it exists a command-line switch (or any other way) to enter the password on the command-line (there is no security problem because my batch is encrypted ...). Using advanced secure methods of sending/receiving email

Re: cannot send Email via smtp with Cegetel.net
What has happend is that your email setting are based on sending email using the Wanadoserver. This works fine if you are on the Wanado network. Hello Gérard, Thanks for the answer but maybe I was not so clear, when I use CEGETEL ADSL I have, of course, selected smtp.cegetel.net in account properties to send Emails and cegetel Email address was in use too. In case you use improper smtp server, the message you receive is something like "relaying denied or not authorized" To prevent all this hassle, you can use your own SMTP server and you will never have to worry about what settings are used by any ISP ever again :-) I would like to try this solution in the meantime, could you give me any pointer please Thanks in advance --- Jean Claude Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Fwd: the Bat! future evolution
Hi all, I love computers. I spend hours and hours on my laptop every day. Most of my time is dedicated to e-mail. I've been using The bat! since the 1.62 version. I always found this program very great. But it did not prevent me from seeing the other mailers and try some of them. So, even if I have been using the bat! since months, a program I purchased from a french dealer, I decided to try another mailer they decided to promote after they gave up the bat! : its name, Pocomail. Even if they said that it was very powerful I did not consider it as powerful as the bat! was (notably from my personal point of view, in fact PocoMail does not seem to be very accessible for the blind man I am). I have been subscribed to PocoSystems' newsletter (the maker of pocomail) since the time I decided to test it. Recently, I received an announcement from PocoSystems, telling that they just launched a new product (Barca) which is a mixture of their mail client PocoMail and a Personal Information Manager. If I told you that, it is to know if you would like to see The Bat turns into a kind of PIM or not and if Ritlabs have such plans in their projects for the 3.0 or 4.0 version of the software ? -- Greetings, Claude Renaud Secure Bat! v2.12.00 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 2.12.00 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

But I'm not totally aggree with Thomas Fernandez when he said that jaws works perfectly with the bat!. In fact we can use it but I think we could greatly improve the accessibility of the bat! by making it Ms accessibility compliant in order to use the Ritlabs Html engine or if we can identify with tooltips all icons in the program. Few days ago I wrote to Maxim Masiutin and suggest him several things. here is a part of our discussion : Hi Max, Le lundi 22 septembre 2003 à 16:22:35, vous écriviez : MM> Could you please send us your screen reader software, to make MM> us able to try? Or you could either : - customize the html component used in the bat! enabling the cursor caret. Then we could be able to read html message and scroll them because screen readers could then track the cursor properly, - or letting optionnally the ability to activate the Microsoft Html renderer engine. Could you please take me aware of your investigation concerning this part of the development please ? I'm working with windows xp french version with all patches currently available. I noticed two stranges behaviours with 4NT that do not occur with take command 32. First, I noticed that with 4NT it is not possible to delete files that contain double extensions such as filename.exe.log for example whereas it is possible with take command. When I try to delete such a file, I have the error message "0 file deleted" whereas the file exists. Have you already noticed that and do you know a workaround ? It is strange because others manipulation such as renaming that kind of files work correctly. Secondly, I noticed that with 4nt, it is not possible to delete files contained in directory whose names contain accented characters. Below is a sample batch file witch works under take command (delete requested files) but fails under 4nt (saying that the specified path is not found and so 0 file is deleted). Here is my batch file : DeleteMessages : @echo off set tb=D:\Mes Documents\internet\Courrier électronique\Messagerie\Archives\The Bat!\ del /s "%tb%mon compte\inbox\*.tbb;*.tbi" del /s "%tb%msn hotmail\inbox\*.tbb;*.tbi" unset tb With take command all the .TBB and .TBI files are deleted hereas they are not when I run this batch file after having opened a console session with 4NT. - -- Greetings, Claude Renaud E-mail : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mailer The Bat! version 1.60q Serial number : C4C1C7D5 Windows XP Version : 5.1 Build 2600 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (MingW32) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj0SLGkACgkQwBUuKtaPTPVUrgCgqW6v5IfZ3XwEGP+zs1Hh0VqO bKcAniX5eBqRZZXRgLOS+RHv1G2HcrFV =yh7D -END PGP SIGNATURE- --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- | Date: Thu, 20 Jun 2002 21:26:30 +0200 | Subject: Few questions about two of your products. | From: Claude Renaud <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Claude, Your message with the above ID contained no recognizable text in its body which was effectively "empty". A tb wish
Bonjour The Bat! User's Discussion List At work I use the bat! to send/receive e-mail through a exchange server, so I had to setup up a ldap exchange address book to access the exchange ab . When I send e-mails the autocompletionfeature does not work with that kind of address book. I wonder if it would not be possible to include that kind of address book when we choose options/preferences/system/complete addresses from/all address books so that the autocompletion feature will work (as outlook express do for exemple) and we do not need to recreate a personal address book containing all the addresses we can use. And I would like to tell you about a strange thing about time sorting : I don't understand why when we sort messages by received time or creation time, messages are sorted descending by default whereas the descending order option is not checked; and so we have to peculiarly check this option to have them sorted correctly. -- Best regards, Claude mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest Vers: 1.53d FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com
