The commercial version. I ran the free version for just a few days, then
registered.

I should have been more careful with the figures I mentioned. They are
accurate, but they do not represent *all* messages received since the
original installation. I ran the plugin for about ten days for a
learning period; then reset the statistics back to zero to see how it
performed.

FWIW, I installed Antispamsniper earlier this month. As of right now,
with 1520 messages received, the error rate is 0.72%. I'm also using >60

Mine is still at 90 from the time I used BayesFilter and it is working
like a charm.

I have mine set at 55. However it takes quite a bit of training. I'm
still getting a few undetected, but the detection rate is rapidly
increasing. At present I'm highlighting the whole Junk folder and
clicking the "junk" button each time I check the mail, and also
clicking "not junk" for each good message. It's important to let it
know what is not junk, as well as what is junk...

I also did register it, and am using the "bad words" feature that is
only in the paid version to simplify the spam filtering. However my
address appears on my web page since I have an on-line business and as
a result get between 100 and 200 messages daily, most of which are
spam...

I've been trying Antispamsniper and it seems to miss about half the
spam. I have it set to mark as spam if it has a score of 60. Should
I be setting this much lower? I'm not getting many false positives
but it is missing a lot.

I have used BayesIt in the past. It worked (mostly) OK. I had no
problems with it, but it was not the most effective filter around (at
least the last time I used it ). On the plus side, I =never= had a
false positive with it, but it only caught about 75 to 80% of the
spam.

I am using Agava now and it is much easier to get it to the point
where it was filtering relatively well. It does a better overall job
of catching spam, about 90+%, but I =do= get the occasional false
positive. That is 'worrisome' since it makes it more likely that I
will miss something ... nor can I just ignore the spam folder.

I have not tried Bayes Filter.

There are days I think about going back to BayesIt again to see if it
has gotten any better. But I am mostly lazy and have not gotten
around to it
