[tw] Re: Pasting text into a tiddler without having it wikified
I place text between these braces to store and display pure text. {{{ Text here }}} or {{{Text here}}} But I also past HTML in between the html /html Then I get full HTML in my tiddler. Tags. I don't recall which plugin from TiddlyTools permitted this. I do use the FF Plugin Copy HTML to make this easier. I have a TiddlyWiki that I use as a personal notebook. It contains basically two kinds of tiddlers: notes that I typed myself, and text pasted in from other sources (usually Web pages). For typing notes, TiddlyWiki is just fine. But pasted-in text often looks ugly when interpreted with Wiki markup. What I'd like to do is tell TiddlyWiki not to apply any specific formatting to a given tiddler, either by adding a tag or by adding some straightforward markup (the less the better). At first I thought nowiki or triple quotes would do the job, but they also suppress line breaks, turning my tiddler into a single long paragraph. I want my pasted-in text to look just as if I had pasted it into any word processor: the division into paragraphs should be respected, ideally URLs should be recognized and made clickable (though that's not essential), and that's it. No WikiWords, no strikethrough, nothing at all. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Konrad. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: A View Mode Editor and a simple Calcualtor
Hi Vincent, An update about not being able to edit the title of a tiddler in my main TW: 1) I found the size of the font is important. I can edit the title for a font-size up to and including 1.98em. From 1.99em upwards it is not possible anymore (TWtid/TWtedv1.63). 2) In my main TW I use a modified ViewTemplate with divs for classes tagging, tagged and tagClear between divs toolbar and title. But with a default ViewTemplate the problem stays. 3) In a MTC with TWtid and TWted v1.63 I can edit the title even with a font-size of 10em! 4) With TWtid/TWted v1.64 in my main TW I can edit the title for a font-size up to and including 2.54em. From 2.55em upwards it is not possible anymore. No idea why. I made a MTC with topmenus. modified ViewTemplate and with TWtid/TWted v1.64 [1] which has the title problem: I can edit the title for a font-size up to and including 2.54em. From 2.55em upwards it is not possible anymore. The font-size for the title is at the top of the StyleSheet. N.B. With plugins v1.64 there is no shift in an old unmodified main TW (#displayArea, .tiddler as was in the past), so your solution for the positioning issue works. [tw] Assaulting CodeMirror, take 3: final success (and feedback)
Hi Mario, hello others, today I have successfully installed the CodeMirror package and I'd like to share my thoughts. First, thanks Mario, that's a breakthrough. I like the idea to work within TW (although, in Android one still needs tools like console and html/css instectors). Second, I must admit, it wasn't easy with current documentation and notes from previous attempts helped me. I'd suggest to create an installation section and list these steps there: * copy/import codemirror.js, runmode.js, zCodeMirrorPlugin with their systemConfig tags * edit EditTemplate by adding the div class='toolbar' macro='typeChooser'/div line (for instance after the div class='editor' macro='edit title'/div line) * optionally edit ViewTemplate by adding (type: span macro='view content-type link'/span) in the div class='subtitle'... line, before the ending /div * copy/import CMEditCommands with systemConfig tag, change ToolbarCommands by adding cmEdit to the ViewToolbar slice and cmSave to the EditToolbar slice, copy/import codemirror.css * copy (and may be edit) CodeMirrorConfig * add parts for different modes: css.js for CSS, tiddlywiki.js and tiddlywiki.css for TiddlyWiki syntax etc; overlay.js [here some instructions about when it's need may go] * save and reload * to get syntax highlightning in the cmEdit mode work, go to the edit/cmEdit mode and chose a content-type for the tiddler (for instance, text/css for a CSS tiddler) * optionally install ExtraKeysAddOn and/or RenderBufferPlugin Next, I've encountered several bugs which I'll list in the order of descreasing importance [all the plugins I used are of up-to-date versions; I haven't installed the two additional plugins]: * for me, in both Opera and FireFox text selection in the cmEdit mode is invisible (that's rather disturbing for the workflow), but that happens only in my local TW, not in the TiddlySpace repository of CodeMirrorPlugins ** may be I installed something wrongly? looks like I took all the necessary tiddlers from [1] * after content-type is chosen with typeChooser, the text area gets hidden. [tw] Re: fET in sidebar?
Hi magev958, this happens because the code inside the example uses story.refreshTiddler which tries to refresh a tiddler in which the buttons and the list are contained. As there's no tiddler, no refreshing happens. What you need is to refresh the sidebar. In the code of each button, try to substitute story.refreshTiddler(context.viewerTiddler.title,null,true); lines with.. em.. probably refreshElements(document.getElementById(sidebar)); Not 100% sure if it will work as I don't quite understand how the version with refreshTiddler works: forEachTiddler doesn't have any refresher in the Udo's version. You can also try my v1.2.0 from [1]. I haven't yet released it for the community as I haven't finished the documentation. Also, be aware that despite the fact that it seems to work for me even in TW 2.6.0 (which I don't understand why), its official CoreVersion requirement is 2.6.2 (or higher). Aside the introduced refresher, it also supports fet alias and a filter parameter to be used before the where one. Best regards, Yakov. They declared their intention, but I think if they changed Presto to WebKit, they would surely write that in the changelog, and that haven't happened yet. * after content-type is chosen with typeChooser, the text area gets hidden. Saving and reopening the tiddler gets it back to visible and the content-type is saved, though Don't know about this behaviour. Need to check with a vanilla TW. * when I press and hold the down button, sometimes the cursor doesn't go just down, but also jumps to the right ** I haven't succeed to make this totally reproducabe -- even for me in the same conditions it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. The only thing I can say is I that happened in a tiddler which consists totally of list items of different levels This was a known error with the codemirror library I'm using. It should have been fixed there, but I can see it from time to time too. But for me it wasn't enough annoyance, to fix it :) I'll have a look. May be an update to the latest 2.x version will help. Yeap, that's a minor bug, I mentioned it because I've noticed that, don't expect that will annoy much. * finally, nbsp; still appears next to the 1 in the line number colomn From where did you import your plugins. codemirror-plugins.tiddlyspace.com ? This one should be deffinitely gone. Which file TW version do you use? I took the plugins from http://codemirror.tiddlyspace.com/. (by the way, in the HelloWorld there's a wrong link to http://codemirror-plugin.tiddlyspace.com/, in the Info section). I took a look at the codemirror-plugins space, but no plugins are listed in the timeline because of the excludeLists so I haven't found them. Anyway, zCodeMirrorPlugin has the same 0.2.8 version as in the codemirror space and so CMEditCommands does (0.1.3). Other tiddlers don't contain any Version slices. Are they different in the two repositories? Some wishes and then ideas: * it would be much more convenient if the typeChooser is a toolbar command as well -- in this case it wouldn't be necessary to edit templates at all Good idea. Need to check if that's possible. * would be very nice if the Are you sure you want to abandon your changes prompt doesn't appear if no changes were applied. As for now it does in the zCodeMirrorPlugin even if it wasn't touched; and if any tiddler was touched but it led to no changes (say, pressed space and then backspace), the prompt appears as well The codemirror library, doesn't keep track of changes in a way, that you know if something was really changed. As soon as any key is pressed I need to invalidate the TW core editor/buffer, otherwise the core refresh and cancel handling bites me. There is probably no easy way to fix this (but I need to have a look at the latest cm library documentation) First, let me notice that the issue regarding zCodeMirrorPlugin doesn't have to do with those problems. Other than that, I see. Just write if you get any new about this. There are two more questions about how much is it possible to interact with the plugin?: * first, if it's possible to create autoindent, is it possible to create autocomplete/autoreplace as well? (autoreplace can be particularly useful with html entities and some math notations) * second, is it possible to add classes styling of which will be applied in the edit mode as well? What I mean: .red {

[tw] Re: A View Mode Editor and a simple Calcualtor
Ton, Thanks for the MTC file. It helped me realize how the font-size issue came up. It was caused by some test codes that I tried randomly when I had no idea what caused the position shift in TiddlySpace. I did those tests quite a while ago and forgot to remove them after fixing the positioning issue with your help. After removing them this font-size issue seems gone. It will be in the next release. Thanks again. By the way, v1.6.4 is quite buggy as I had found and fixed some of them yesterday. It is so because I am still midway to separate large table support. I would suggest to stay with 1.6.3 for now if it worked out for you. Have fun! This, of course, only works for sections transcluded using tiddler not those transcluded wikify I did reply with some info's. They are probably wrong or don't work but my reply is the last one. Ups... Sorry... missed that. Some thoughts. If you want, that someone digs deeper into a problem (even if it is a bug), a minimal testcase will help a lot. I posted that on github, but didn't notice I made a mistake and it was eaten by the software. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: Announcing TiddlyWiki version 2.7.2 BETA 1
Thanks for the observation Scott. It may have something todo with my continuing problem where FF abends on save of my tiddlywiki (TiddlyWiki forced to 0 Bytes in size) after being open for some time. I loose to much when this happens so I am restarting FF 3 + times a day to avoid it. Experienced in Multiple FF versions, tiddlyFox and tiddlywiki versions. Restarted firefox and every thing seems to be working in both original and new versions For what it's worth, this has been happening for me occasionally as far back as TW 2.5.2. I've never been able to nail down the exact circumstances or define a procedure that reliably replicates the error, but it tends to surface when I have multiple TiddlyWikis from different locations open in the same browser for long periods of time. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group.
