Re: [tw] TW5 and Plugins
Hi Andy What is the wife test? If you mean wife testing it on hubby and friend, making customized wiki for each of them in our own language, and they are still not passing the test and keep using TiddlyWiki, then I would agree. I think you should have a look at http://tw5bookmarklets.tiddlyspot.com/ That is one of Ton Gerners guides, all highly recommendable. I have no issue using wiki markup for notes, but I think the wiki markup wouldn't pass the wife test. Overall though, I'm incredibly impressed. That means that they need an active maintainer. [tw] Re: Widgets for HTML generation
Hi Andreas, So there is no good way to generate HTML USING widgets. I didn't quite follow that conclusion. Can you provide an example? Is it possible to seperate widget parsing from HTML parsing? I guess it's the same question as above. Haven't generated static pages yet, so that's probably why, I think that would advance TW to make it more useful as a templating engine. Please expand a little on what you have in mind. Do you mean, defining templates via tiddlers and have static files rendered based on that? Re: [tw] Re: Widgets for HTML generation
Hi Andreas I ran into the problem, that widgets and HTML fall into the same wiki parsing rule (as far as I know). So there is no good way to generate HTML USING widgets. So my question is: Is there another option (when you can't do 1. for some reason) The approach that the core uses in the templates that general HTML output is to have the HTML tags that you want in the output to be plain text, leaving the invisible widgets for list widgets etc. So, you're first example could be done like this: $list filter=1 2 3 `h1 class=`$text text=currentTiddler/``$text text=currentTiddler/`/h1` /$list It would get quite hairy to do too much of that, so the core makes extensive use of the template $:/core/templates/html-tiddler which uses the view widget to render a tiddler as wikified HTML. For example: https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/blob/master/core%2Ftemplates%2Fstatic.tiddler.html.tid This example takes a different approach; it disables widget/html rule parsing, causing html tags to be passed through wikification untouched, and relies on the wikitext transclusion syntax to bring in constituent content: https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/blob/master/core%2Ftemplates%2Ftiddlywiki5.html.tid Best wishes Jeremy On Fri, Dec 12, 2014 at 10:51 AM, Andreas Hahn www.gal...@googlemail.com wrote: Am 12.12.2014 07:04, schrieb Stephan Hradek: Maybe this helps, putting it at the top of each tiddler: \rules only html Thanks Stephan, I tried that, but I failed. Re: [tw] Re: [TW5] GettingStarted tiddler + flexible help system
Hi Jeremy, I've simplified empty.html's GettingStarted to remove the tabs. I think, at least for the moment, that we should keep it simple, and link to help material elsewhere. I think that's a good approach. Tabs add complexity and would only help in this context if numbered. There could be a few more headlines, e.g. *Create* (tiddlers) *Save* (tiddlywiki) *Explore* (tags, macros, templates, etc.) ...each with either the ui features to use, e.g. buttons, indicating what to do ...or definitions lists with summaries and links pointing towards the corresponding topics on tiddlywiki.com... similar to http://tb5.tiddlyspot.com/#Core. I see if I can't give it a try at what that could look like. anyhow, I think this is a very important topic to keep newcomers confident ...and motivated to explore! Perhaps, this is a good opportunity to introduce the most simplistic (implementation of a) widget rendering a headings toc with clickable links... so as to have that toc at the top of a tiddler while being able to jump to a topic further down the tiddler. Hi Stephan, Thanks for this useful Newtiddler Widget. Let me ask a question. The documentation says that placeholders can be anywhere in a skeleton. Where variable data contains multi-word phrases, this fails if the placeholder is a tag. In this case, each word of the phrase appears as a separate tag. Can you suggest a workaround to that? [tw] Re: [TW5] Setting up a Tiddlywiki for multiple users
Hello Darren, I am in the same situation as you. The plugin does not work for me either (I try to copy it according to a manual but with no success), and according to you message it may be due to the versions incompatibility). Have you solved your issue already? Thanks, Silvie Dne pátek, 1. srpna 2014 18:51:43 UTC+2 Darren Wigfield napsal(a): I'm trying to accomplish something similar. In my environment, I can't set up a server of any kind. This is why TiddlyWiki is a great solution. I'd like to drop it on a network share and have myself and members of my team be able to read and edit it. The problem is how to avoid people writing over each others' edits. The best solution I've found is using this plugin: http://www.minormania.com/tiddlylock/tiddlylock.html However, I can't imagine that plugin will work with TiddlyWiki 5. Now I'm stuck between implementing a soon-to-be-obsolete TiddlyWiki, using TiddlyLock or waiting to see if Version 5 gets any multi-user support. I'm kind of torn, and would appreciate anyone's thoughts. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. Right you are, should any of tese posters win, some color adjustments to the text might have to be made. Some times what's more visually appealing is not always easier to read. Also, if these are to be print-ready, those backgrounds might be a little environment unfriendly and cost ineffective, and color ink might not always be available so maybe a monochrome version might be in order. Do filters get executed in order? I hadn't encountered or noticed it before, but rearranging the filter breaks the output, [indexes[][$:/data/Acronyms]regexp:title[(?i)$(thisSearch)$]] doesn't work. I had assumed that each operation was done independently and then the intersection of the resulting sets (or union for ORing filters) was given as the output. In most cases this wouldn't have any effect, but it seems to be the case here. Is that what is happening? If so that may have been why nothing I was trying was working out.
